  • Machine fucking Head the gig of my life

  • Is the drummer Walter Ryan ?

  • I was there as well :) Saw these guys 3 times that year. here, supporting slayer and then a couple of months later on their own tour.. just awesome.

  • what does he say at 2:23 to 2:40 ?

  • @hamoog m.e.t.h.o.d. man.

  • do i see dimebag on stage??

  • @metallicarula yesyou do!

  • What I love about this is that even though Robb Flynn had food poisoning, he still gives a fucking killer performance.

  • @KosherTaco26 Chris at this time had some sort of virus that I guess he could MAYBE play 3 songs before he said he felt like keeling over from exhaustion. He was an awesome drummer who was very unique.

  • this actually wasnt monsters of rock, there was nothing linned up for that summer and metallica done an escape from the studio and put the whole thing on, it was fucking awsome..

  • Machine Head, White Zombie, Corrosion Of Conformity all in one place.

wish I could have been there.

  • @SkyussValley7 I was and it was awsome!!! Can't believe it was 16 years ago!

  • Those pants that rob is wearing looks so comfortable, i need one

  • Who's playing on drums? Doesn't look like Kontos, atleast not to me?

  • @Ghostrider623 Some guy named Walter Ryan. Kontos was refusing to tour for some reason at the time so Walter Ryan was a touring fill in. Robb said he fucked up every song in an interview he did in 2007. Lol.

  • Adam Duce: fucking legend!!!

  • i was there, !!!!!!

    SLAYER

    OWNED that day !!!

  • cuando machine head era "machine head" Groove metal

  • @fernando62994 si, el machine head de antes, en los buenos tiempos

  • I was there!!

  • @Dogstar404 how could you have been at dynamo AND download?

  • Nope, never went to Dynamo, was there for Donnington 1995 though.

  • Just DOnnington '95, I wan't at Dynamo.

  • @Dogstar404 but you made a comment on another live machine head video, which happened to be at dynamo, saying "I was there!"

  • what its the song that rob sign at 2:26??

  • Madder's V looks super fucking cool.

Looks like a gold hardware version of (ex-FNM) Jim Martin's.

Kravitz did a signature version like it too.

  • also it's corn rows retards

  • Pick up the pace dammit!

  • Robb Flynn had food poisoning in this performance and the drummer was sick he said it was just a disaster in biblical portions

  • T they playing so slow? Is it cuz they had walter ryan on drums and not Chris? If they're gonna getta replacement drummer than they should get one tht can play the songs right... Just saying

  • groove is so much better than thrash! sounds much more brutal!

  • @roh00002 no

  • @mimisnowball yes

  • i was there. and though it was spectacular. only found out about the vomit yesterday.

  • duce fucking rules \m/

  • slow lol, still amazing

  • wow they're playing soooo slowly it killed it

  • AdamfuckingDuce \m/

  • Hey, if you like this video you might like our stuff. Check out our page and see what you think. Thanks!

  • obviously they have changed it was 14 years ago lol

  • lol seem to have changed so much

  • is rob quoting method man from wu tang?

    pretty funny man.

  • @rarebanana he's been reffered to as one of the blackest white men ever lol

  • was this the concert where robb vomitted everywhere and the drummer was all wrong

  • There he is playing Donington and you are not and never will so shut the fuck up.............

  • Walter Ryan on drums reminds me of an 80 year old trying to play at the nursing home he is in

  • Duce owns that chorus. \m/_

  • groove meat bollox stop segragating and join in again ALL metal united we stand devided we fall big fukin guitars forever peace!!!!

  • Poor Walter...ha ha ha

  • This song reminds me on a Sepultura-Song. IDK why^^

  • sepultura was a big influence on MH the songs does sound a lot like sep :) maybe thats why

  • Becouse MH is Groove Metal band. Sepultura is founder of Groove Metal.

  • founder of groove metal i think if im not wrong is pantera

  • I think it's Sepultura but there can be more than one founder...

  • yea but u have tu see in what year pantera became famus (ithat was in the cowboys from hell album in with it was realist d in 1990) but if u see sepultura is categorized thrash metal and machine head too

  • im basing my things in things i heard and reed so if u know a lot or think u know (no disrespect)or some one that knows correct me plz

  • I'm reading a lot about Metal history and kinds of Metal but I'm not 100% sure about founder of Groove Metal. But i still think it's Sepultura...

  • haha thats fine, if im rigth sepultura is ur favorite rigth?

  • Yeaaah, Sepultura's great. They're playing Thrash and Groove Metal. It's my fav. Thrash Metal band... I never liked they Groove side very much. But they ROCKS as Thrash band.

  • cool haha i think there best song is roots

  • Roots is awesome... but Ratamahatta, Arise, Biotech is Gotzilla, Refuse/Resist, Teritory and much more are great too :D

  • i haven't heard biotech and gotzila but the other ones are my favorites too

  • @nattheanswer24 wrong, it's Exhorder.

  • @Vhaldemar90 ah?? explain to me because i dont understand :S

  • Castle Donington 1995. I was there - only 'cause of these guys, and of course Metallica.

  • theres a big diff to then and now they were very panteriery back then and now they have mixed it up more i pefer them now tho

  • Respect for Flynn

  • wow that drummer is soooooooo shit

  • I agree weak sauce

I saw them in 1994 with Chris Kontos on drums

    much better

  • @eyehategumbo i know man, apparently, this drummer was a filler right and he sucked. Plus rob felt like total shit that day. I think he had food poisoning.

  • i want robb's pants,it's so cool xD

  • I was there that day and even though Rob was feeling like shit they were still amazing.

  • Old machine head sounds alot like sepultura. The later shows more influence from Pantera and later on more metalcore.

  • if you think their new material (through the ashes and blackening) sounds like metalcore, you really should get back to metal school dude

  • it was brilliant allready and they started to play the m.e.t.h.o.d. man . yeah

  • robb flynn reminds me of early max cavalera visual wise.

  • yeah he kinda remind me of max too in some ways

  • @azzmiller666 nnnoo el chabon es igual a corbata de a.n.i.m.a.l y carajo

  • This was Walter Ryan on drums and its not very good!

  • lol Rob fucking rocks love the song and the short

Wu Tang Cover Part at 2:25-2:49 Lol they still fucking rock!

  • wasnt this the concert that rob had food poisining and he was throwing up after each song. I think he said in an interview that it was donington 95'....and yeah i think it was also a bad backup drummer filling in....but deff. not one of their best performances

  • You think that the blackening sucks? Oo

  • u idiot

how can you not like more things change, through the ashes and the blackening

sure burning red and supercharger arnt their best albums but they are good..

secondly how can you say dave mclain is crap?

  • i was their, still have the T-shirt ^-^ fucking amazing gig that was!

  • Awesome post - I was at that!

  • This Song is great on the album, i'm Disappointed by this, too slow

  • and because rob had food poisoning @ this fest so he was pretty fucked up

  • o.o This wasn't their best...

  • Robb had a food poisoning at this gig and the drummer fucked it all up

  • I am a Fucking Machine Head fan but i dont like this song dont know why :S

  • Is that Chris Kontos drumming?

  • doesnt look like him

  • No that some other drummer couz chris went also ill or some shit.

Just chek Machine head @ Dynamo festival 1995 there you can see al the fast songs :P

  • slayer,therapy ,machine head and other bands suport Metallica to this show!A M A Z I N G line up

  • pretty cool, logan mader indeed looks a bit like dimebag XD

good song, great album, but I don't really like the way robb flynn uses his voice on this record

  • heeyy the guy jumping around looks a lot like dimebag darrell,i thought it was him..

  • Out in the beautiful sunshine of Castle Donnington! (And LMAO to the guy that said Jordison was in MH! What a fucking shit brain!) Is it just me or are they playing a little slowly?

  • what the fuck??!! haha

  • slipknot sucks, machine head rules. a great motto..

  • erm.... nobhead, Jordison was NEVER in Machine Head, at least have a clue wtf you're talking about before you spout off trash and make yourself look a complete mug

  • Wasn't this where tony costanza stepped in cause kontos left? sounds shit anyway, seriously needs speeding up to proper tempo. And wtf is that rap in the middle robb? jeez. Dynamo performance owns this in every single way. It's an amazing song, no need to slow it down or compromise the intensity.

  • ahaha

    how old was he?

  • This band made the masterpiece "Clenching the Fists of Dissent"?

What a change for the better. Seriously, how did they even make this shit back then?

  • Don't say that. That is the absolute worst performance of that song I have seen from them. Check them out at Dynamo, check out all the songs from their first album. I think it is a change for the better too but their old stuff kicks just as much ass.

  • Dude, this is a shit performance for Machine Head.

Robb himself has even said this was one of the worst gigs they've ever played.

'Burn my Eyes' is a masterpiece

The newer stuff is awesome too though

  • i was at that gig.. amazing pit and pretty sick bottle fight i seem to remember..pity the sound is so bad

  • Yea right....

The people dont move.... and you stand in a pit on the worst gig of machine head everplayed?

I bet you are a 14 year old guy who thinks he is cool to say this on youtube,

Or you drink to much beers ;]

  • wtf?

maybe your mullet boys round the edge weren't moving, but down the front was a good crowd..

i was 15 back then, so do your maths and work out that i aint 14 ...

it might not have been mh's best gig, but was the donnington atmosphere that made it so great..

  • Awful drummer spoils it!!!

  • Wow... is it me or is this REALLY slow!

  • Hahah dude Thts not Dimebag on the Flying V!

  • man this rules so do machine head

  • DUDE...DIMEBAG ON A FLYING V!!!!!awsome!!

  • thats not dimebag you fucken cocksucker thats logan madder just do everyone a favour and piss off you dont know shit

  • @Testament4Ever to be fair to them the hair is very simmilar and the shorts are very dime as well

  • hahaha! Asshole

  • That was pretty funny though!...

  • Dumb kid...

  • my god,,,suicide now

  • know your shit, fag

  • this was my first donington!!!

    i think we were 80000

    i remeber the beer fight!!

never seen such a thing in my life

spent most of my time backstage so i discover the set on utube many years later

  • I fuckin love Flynn!

  • its amazing how much theyre live performance has improved :)

  • they have a lot more power these days, shame the setlist only seems to be getting worse with age now!

  • ive forgotten why the drummer was ill but it wasnt food poisoning was just rob that had that but yeah like you said they were fucking unbelieveable last year hope to see them again soon

  • For those who don't and keep criticising this set.....Machine Head's drummer had food poisoning that day and they had a new drummer filing in for that day, he fu*ked up most of the set. Rob had food poising too and he admits it was one of his worst gigs , if not the worst.

I've see Machine Head twice at Donington since then (Download festival 2004 and 2007) and they destroyed the place.

    Machine fu*kin Head rules.

  • no... rob had food poisoning he even said it during the set last year at donington and they had a replacement drummer who fucked up every song

  • Im sure thats what CosmikReunion said already.

  • Machine Head have made some improvement since then! They rock and will just get better and better!

  • Doesn't matter that this is bad. I love Machine Head. Do you know some good groups like them???? :)

  • Not really cool. Standard heavy, no riffs just power chords... Nothing speciel:(

  • i wish the bassist would sing. and i wish nowadays the singer wouldnt have a gay bullets for my valentine style of shirt!

  • Rob and the drummer had food poisoning jst before the show

  • old skool MH!!!!!!!!!,...\m/

  • Robb Flynn says this was one of his worst shows ever. still owns.

  • must admit im a fan of machine head they own live but Flynns voice here is balls man

  • yeah i know dude. I remember watchin a interview with him recently, he saided himself they sounded like a machine head cover band on this performance

  • oooold fucken video :D machine head used to be awesome in those days.

  • that's an awesome vid, classic Machine Head. I'm definatly glad Phil and Dave are with them now.

  • even though robb was sick,he played reli well! hellyeah!!!

  • this was there first download performance and at download this year robb flynn said that he had food poisening and the drummer fucked up everything

  • His drumming was horrible in all honesty but they had no real choice...

  • Machine Head is awesome, Rob looks different in this video, There 1 guitarist kinda looks like Dime and there Bass players allmost looks like Henneman :o

  • Roadrunner334 - you must not be familliar with the ORIGINAL line up of MH, the guiatrist is Logan Mader and the bassist is still Adam Duce but he had a beard then, the drummer is a man called Chris Kontos

  • "Roadrunner334 - you must not be familliar with the ORIGINAL line up of MH, the guiatrist is Logan Mader and the bassist is still Adam Duce but he had a beard then, the drummer is a man called Chris Kontos "

Chris Kontos was the original Machine Head drummer that's true but he's not drumming at Donington at 95 as he was ill. It's the drum tech Walter Ryan... I was there for this in the Snake Pit :)

  • Yeah, he was but I was saying the drummer at that time was Chris Kontos not the guy in the video... sorry for any confusion... Listening now, it sounds too sludgy co pared to the original and the drum fills are shit compared to Kontos'

  • I was at this gig too.

the guy playing drums was a last minute replacement cos Kontos was sick

  • Robb was sick at this concert and he called the worst concert in his life!

  • yea.. because the drummer was shit. thats if you were at download 2007 :P

  • wow man flynn with long hair

  • the snare sounds like shit

best song of MH ,what times...

    i miss the nineties

  • new machine head kicks the shit out of this, in my opinion the is annoying, im sorry to all you oldschoolers out ther but i perfer their new stuff, im not taking anything away from their talent but i just dont liek this era of machine head

  • them so fucking almighty gods maachine fucking head they r rulz and legend

  • miss the old machine head:(

    \M/

  • fuck ive got this on video from when it was aired on mtv headbangers ball. so good.

  • kick ass song! kick ass performance would surely wish that Logan was back in the band.. they sounded SOOOO much better with him slingin' the axe around. much better with that nu-metal guy on the burning red and supercharger. GOD I miss the old school MH

  • where the hell have you been for the last 5 years?

the guitarist you're talkin bout is Ahrue Luster, he and Machine Head parted ways before Through The Ashes Of Empires was written, and Phil Demmell the guitarist that MH have now is 100 times better than Logan Mader ever was, MH current line-up is the best its ever been

  • id disagree logan wasnt a shredder but his solos and riffs were much more tasteful. Really nice guy too. They were really shit on this tour Meshuggah hammered them as a support.

  • gotta disagree buddy, phil's good studio but ALWAYS manages to fuck something up live. Plus I'm more a fan of their older stuff anyway!

  • I was there too, was in the section of crowd you see at 3:40. One of the better Donnington's iirc. Happy days.

  • I was there dude! I was 19. Machine Head opened this set with that amazing line "Let Freedom ring, with a shotgun blast". marvellous! - I also thought White Zombie rocked and even thought Metalica renamed it their "Escape from the Studio" tour it was still a classic Monsters of Rock Feastival. Cheers.

  • teh 2nd guitarist looks like dimebag darrel

  • The Drummer is a guy called Walter Ryan, Chris Kontos left just shortly before Donington 95

  • Awesome performance!

Good thing Robert didn't have the fucked up cornrows like at dynamo!

  • I Disagree, I thought his cornrolls made him look nice and angy

  • i havent seen this vid since i saw it on headbangers ball in '95. Oh the memories

  • I was there too.. I was 15...

  • Am I the only one that thinks this is too slow? It sounds dull when played this slow.

  • yeah your right, it was a slower tempo, but still sounded sweet...

  • i was at this gig the drummer was walter ryan who stood in for a few shows before dave mclaine joined great day !!!!

  • haha the rap Robb did is from M.E.T.H.O.D M.A.N by Wu Tang Clan.

  • Haha old school.. funny can see evidence of robb flynn's rap-style even back then live. they jammed though
