try Betaine HCL w/ pepsin pills... too little acid has the same symptoms as too much acid... I have been taking acid-reducers for years with little temporary effect, until I found out that I wasn't producing too much acid, I was producing too little, and now I'm pretty much symptom free with the hydrochloric acid pills... Get a stomach acid PH level test and see if it's really too much acid or not...
i don't think any of this will help someone like myself who has a lax L.E.S. muscle that never closes. in other words, it's a MECHANICAL issue. unless there's a miracle food that can close an LES, there is no other choice for most people other than acid reducing drugs unfortunately.
I have had heartburn for some time now and just found something that works very good for me,I drink lots of water especially after dinner before bed, it seems to dilute the acid in my stomach and it passes in my urine.
Natural methods do work, I'm proof. I tried drugs and medications but nothing treated my acid reflux permanently. What worked for me was to modify my diet and lifestyle. I now eat small meals more often and exercise just a few minutes a day to keep my acid reflux away.
@niylofa123 It's just a quick fix, and before you know it.. not even this will work anymore, Thankfully there is a new procedure out that is incision-less called Esophyx TIF and it seems to have a pretty high success rate and is revisable and reversible if complications arise, you should look into it.
My chiroprator says its back related! My #5 and #6 vertebrae were out of alignment. When the doctor pushed on these I about leaped off the table! He told me he cured his own GERD with chiropractic help. After ONE adjustment, my GERD is way better but follow up is needed. If the nerve is pinched here the valve doesn't get a strong enough signal to close all the way, allowing acid to leak. This is just how the body works. Same thing with Sciatic nerve. It could be your back!
@tujungite my friend also suffers with bad indigestion. He also has been renderd unfit for work du to Sciatic nerve problems, maybe there is a link thair
@vvsillybillyvv Sorry about your friend. It is almost for sure chiropractic related. My chiro told me Gerd is the reason he became a chiro in the frist place. After just a couple of adjustments, his was cured. It flares up from time to time, you get that tightness in the throat, but it just means your back is out. I've gone two more times and my gerd is basically gone. 6 months later I am symptom free. Sitting with bad posture on a shitty chair at computer is half my problem tho.
@tujungite I believe what you're saying but, I don't think all chiropractors think the way yours does. I'm having digestion issues and it all started six months after a car accident I had. My question to you is: Do you or your chiropractor know of any in the Los Angeles/Southern California area that I can see about this? It would be greatly appreciated. I've been so miserable for the past year and a half. It would greatly be appreciated. Thanx.
@BootyClapn My chiropractor is Anthony Chiropractic in LaCrescenta CA on Foothill Bl. I don't personally know of any digestive doctors, but for my issues with Gerd, he has helped big time. In fact, it's odd, as I had a bit of symptoms here a week ago and was going to go for an adjustment, but too busy. The Gerd is fine for now. Also, I was treated for this just ONCE, and I was symptom free for almost a year. For me, it's obvious. It's back and spine related. Worth 50 bucks, he's awesome.
@tujungite Would you be so kind to recommend your Chiropractor to me? I work in La Crescenta every other week and I'll be there this coming Monday, Jan 3rd, 2011. Thanx. Much appreciated.
@BootyClapn No prob, curious to see the results. You should post how you're doing. Too many others suffering from this awful feeling. just saw my past comments I said I went two more times. haha But the results are there, none of that tightness and burning in the throat for about a year.. Like i said, just a bit recently but nothing last last year. that was bad. I plan to go again soon for a maintenance. Wow, you're lucky, you are right in town then. Good luck!
Baking soda mixed in water. That works right now.

@HrapovikPlush hehe no, I didn't know there was a book.
I have GERD and the apple cider vinegar keeps the acid to a minimum.
I watched the cartoon up to the brocures then left.
The vinegar does work, trust me :)
