a majority of the founders were anti slavery. if the northerners didn't compromise with the southerners there would be no united states. i think most people prefer having a united states rather than not, in spite of its rough beginning.

eventually the constitution was amended and slavery was abolished. nothing is perfect. slavery was prevalent at the time. africans themselves sold african slaves to other countries. slavery still exists in some part of africa and asia.

This video had a deep emotional impact. I wasn't aware that there were new people out there like Ron Paul.

I had major fears that he would have no to pick up the torch when he goes. Ron Paul is getting very old. He is incredibly sharp, and being a doctor and living a healthy lifestyle, I don't think he will die anytime soon, but it is something his supporters do worry about.

The idea that "the Reinforcements have arrived" is a very positive one.

I agree, but there are also a couple of liberty candidates in Congress now. I think what will happen is putting liberty candidates in office will send a strong message to other members of Congress. If for no other reason than wanting to keep their jobs, they will change their voting habits.

I think proof of this is the number of cosigners on HR1207, Paul has been pushing this for years, but it was when we the people started voicing our desire for the bill that other members started signing on.

The only liberty candidate in Congress I know of is Ron Paul. Pressuring Congress is vital to democracy but it should be a goal of this movement to elect candidates who act on principle and not enlightened self-interest. Ron Paul is the only member of congress with a true moral base guiding his decisions and I don't see us fundamentally changing the system until we put a few hundred Ron Pauls in congress.

It may not be too late. I think the most important thing we can do to "buy time" is put pressure on our representatives to push HR1207 and S604 into law. This will open up the federal reserve and help with the collapse of the dollar.

We ARE going to hit a wall on all of this, and if it happens before 2010, I SURE want people in office who understand how we got to that point and will use the constitution to get us out of it.
