I thought it was an OEM version of the mic since it was packaged as such, but some YouTube comparisons showed there really isn't much difference between a genuine one and a good knock-off, and in some cases, the knock-off sounded fuller.
@wwwgroupeexocetcom The Middle East Upstairs is among the loudest in the Boston area, and it was particularly loud for this band and from where I was standing by the speakers. The audio editor actually showed little waveform -- mostly it was solid block of color. All things considered, it came out not so bad I think.
Think you've got the fake one (Ecm-ds70p). Sound should be a lot better.

But maybe yours got some problems :s We bought the ds70p few years ago and it works perfect even if the sound is very loud.
