  • Because the iPhone cuts off some of the title in the relates videos list, I came in thinking it was...

"The Star-Spangled Banner - Mormon Style"

Then again, it kind of is...

  • I felt like I couldn't even make a noise when the flag was carried out. God bless America, and all those souls who lost their lives on that day!

  • And now I'm crying.

  • @MarineSweetie123

    i did too lol

  • I cried when they took the Flag out...I miss the Twin Towers..

  • Wow. You can tell who wasn't around for Sept 11th. "Why does the flag have a hole?"

  • why the flag has a holes in it.It because this flag was in the 9/11 attack

  • I remember being there. It was so quiet you could here a pin drop. You couldn't hear anything. There was no sound...

  • You can't help but to hold your breathe when you watch nearly 3000 thousand angels represented by the indomitable spirit that resides within the flag being escorted solemnly into the stadium.

  • @YouCallitPiracy what? It was the flag on one of the twin towers, it survived and that's why it has a hole in it.

  • I didn't even noticed I skipped trough the anthem.

I'm not one of those ppl that watch for superbowl or Olympic games talk...

  • Proud to be LDS and Proud to be an American. 10 years and I still remember. Land of the free and home of the brave.

  • I love how they start of quietly and the BAM! That choir has more power than any other choir I have ever heard in my life!!! My heart swelled with pride as I watched this. The absolute silence as the flag was carried in to the majesty of the choir as the flag was raised! GOD BLESS AMERICA, and may we never forget those that gave their all for this country!

  • Very beautiful. I love the Chior!!!!

  • Still brings tears to my eyes .

  • that. was. AWESOME. Healing to a nation, patriotic, and just about everything good. No celebs, no vocal showoffs, just a passionate performance

  • I know I just posted, but I would like to add that although I am not an American and probably never will be (unless I marry an American), I do feel more and more like how an American feels every single time I think about what happened on the 11th of September 2001. Maybe that is because I'm a dual citizen from two Western Nations that continue to stand by the USA. I'm British and Australian and both of those countries have had terrorist attacks or been the main victims in terrorist attacks.

  • It's humbling that they didnt repair it... very humbling

  • @joeyfarlz to be able to repair the flag you would have to be able to restore to life the people who died at 9-11

only God can do that , what we need now is a Statesman as well as diplomat in the Whitehouse , come 2012 vote Ron Paul

  • This video is beautiful. Chills.

  • The conductor, Keith Lockhart is from the Boston Pops Orchestra

  • This was a middle finger to the terrorists throughout the world. "....the bombs bursting in air, gave proof through the night, that our flag was still there..." never more fitting. A moment that could bring tears to a glass eye, so patriotic, from a non-American.

  • The silence when our flag is being carried in is so amazing. I get chills every time I watch it. I was 9 when 9-11 happened. And every day since that day I have been even more proud to be an AMERICAN!!!!!!

  • Many people may hate us, but in times of crisis UNITED WE STAND and will put a boot in your ass ITS THE AMERICAN WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I AM A MEMBER OF THE SAVAGE NATION!! I LOVE AMERICA AND WE WILL LIVE AND FIGHT FOR OUR FREE UNTIL THE VERY END!!!!

  • stupid helecopter disturbing the silence

  • 0:51 That flag went to hell and back that day, and there is still not 1 hole in the Blue area. Proof that America stands United, and nothing can EVER tear us apart!

  • This was absolutely beautiful...i got choked up at the word free at the end. God Bless American.

  • God Bless America................

  • if you dont make a sound while they're carrying the 9/11 flag in the video leave a reply

  • that choir is amazing

  • I have never heard that many people be THAT quiet. Not a fucking PEEP. Damn man.

  • I'm so proud to be a part of this country...

  • @BANTYxROOSTER Amen to that.

  • She may be worn, torn, and burned, but she still stands for and waves for freedom

  • WOW!!! The strong emotional feels that come from watching the mormon tabernacle choir perform the National Anthem is amazing.

  • WOW, Impressive.

  • This National Anthem gave me more chills than any other. I loved it. That is the best performance ever. God Bless America. I would carry that flag to the grave which is why I'm joining the Marine Corps 2013. Can't wait.

  • @Tylorolson Good luck to you, brave Marine, and Semper Fi.

  • @bigjames02 Thanks, My bro is actually at Marine Corps Boot Camp right now. I'm definitely following his foot steps.

  • @bigjames02 Thanks :)

  • @socalrun Had to have been some terrorist who, I'm sure at this point, has had justice served to them in a form of a bullet to the head...

  • Why does it have a hole in it?

  • @JustinFromSydney The answer to that is given in the first five seconds of the video!!

  • @JustinFromSydney

It was wounded by those foul terrorists who hurt us on 9/11. Never forget us though. We will exact revenge.

  • i just love this national anthem. Nice balance.

  • Hope our children appreciate this solomn occasion of our National Anthem

  • GOD BLESS AMERICA! LONG LIVE THE FREE, LONG LIVE THE BRAVE.

  • Now I have renewed hope. Even if it takes 10 years to bring justice or eternity, it will be dealt.

  • @blunt15 The face of Satan was sent to Hell today by faithful, Patriotic, Red-Blooded American GIs. God bless our troops, and may He continue to protect our nation from those who had so blatantly attempted to destroy it In the words of the old hymn "Donna Nobis Pacem". Give Us Peace!

  • usually not a fan of changing the anthem's natural rythym or people twisting it into their own, but repeating the last lines with the band kicking in was pretty damn awesome.

  • If you can watch this video without tearing up, I'd like to know how you did it.

  • this flag was destroyed by Alqaida we will never forget that

  • 0:23 I cried. He feels so guilty and it's not his fault.

  • 0:24 I cried.

  • Dont sing it softly its horrible that way it needs to be deep with men

  • Now why couldn't they sing the Anthem at the superbowl? It would have been 1000000x better than Christina Aguilera yodeling her way through, not to mention her forgetting the freaking words... Really though, this was beautiful. Brought a tear to my eye.

  • Thank you for posting this...I was blessed to be at the opening ceremoneys with my family and when this was done by the amazing mormon Tabernacle choir there was not a dry eye in our section were we were seated.

  • I can't write a comment to this video...the tears are preventing me from doing so. This is the most beautiful rendition of the National Anthem I ever heard...and I'm not an American, yet I felt like one watching this, especially when they brought that flag out. Than you for this amazing video.

  • I'm not Mormon, and I do respect how, unlike some Americans, they display alot of patriotism towards their country....something I agree with.

  • I'm not a mormon but i have to say there isn't a better choir in the world then the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

  • Never forget the absolute dead silence when that flag was brought out.

  • god bless america!!!!

  • @heroineworshipper

you can actually hear the helicopters flying in the background. 20,000 or how many there where have never been as quiet

  • I did not mean my previous comment as hate speech, but take this one as you will:

The American People are united against tyranny and terrorism. If an enemy questions our resolve, then look at this Flag, and look in your heart.

The Heart of my nation was bruised that day; Terrorists tried to destroy Her. We stood against tyranny at Concord, and we'll stand again.

I for one will lay down my life if my children and countrymen can live under a banner of Freedom and Liberty.

  • It sounds pretty, but i can barely hear them..

  • I love the orchestration (did Lockhart himself orchestrate it?). It's performed not just as a national anthem, but as a masterpiece. Taking the performance of the National Anthem seriously is respectful to the country, and, by extension, to the 9/11 victims.

  • Nice video! And thanks for posting that description link.

  • As an American, I can say it is refreshing to see people who support us, and THANK YOU!!! We're going to keep fighting this good fight, and I know you will, too. Our Marxist President can have all the redistribution he attempts, but our Congress will stop him cold on Nov 2nd, and our nation can at least start making steps to show folks like you, our allies, the respect you deserve, and rebuild our relationships.

God save our brothers and sisters in England and Australia!

  • @jeep1234567890 Nothing can break the UK\USA alliance, it's between people with similar values and attitudes - freedom, democracy, self-determination.

Politicians come and go, but that bond between our people will always be intact.

It's pretty strange that we have a centre right government, really a pretty right wing conservative government, and America has a socialist president,

The EU is a total waste, it costs us far more than we get out of it, it's a threat to democracy. Let's get out!

  • @afewtube We owe you more than this! The fact that UK has a "deactivated gun" society makes me fucking sick! Folks like you and me, from one side of the Atlantic to the other, are going to put an end to this nonsense.

If EU wants to be "global" about "rights", then I'm going to push NRA to push "global" self-defense rights for all European citizens.

And I'm gonna start by contacting Mr Daniel Hannon, MEP, since that dude has stones that would make a Texan jealous!

  • @JackBootLip I've seen your comments on other videos ranting about gun rights in the UK. You do realise that most of the UK population have no interest in owning or bearing guns? As it is, gun crimes are few and far in between compared to the US. Personally, I feel much safer in a society where you can't just walk into a shop and buy a gun but hey, if people on the other side of the Atlantic feel otherwise. So be it. Doesn't make it the ONLY way that gun laws should be.

  • @soulsurrender Your comment is interesting. I have communicated with a lot of British folks who are offended by the gun control laws in UK.

It's not my place to speak about your gun laws, but my argument remains - "gun laws" disarm honest citizens, yet criminals remain armed.

The safety of the individual is His own responsibility. The reason we have a 2nd Amendment is to defend the rights of the individual, and King George III was the impetus. Your thoughts?

  • @JackBootLip Well that is interesting to know as well but honestly, it's pretty obvious that in any population there WILL be folks who are for and against gun laws. It's just the way it is when it comes to anything these days really. Criminals were all 'honest' citizens at one time before they become criminals. You can never be too sure who are honest or have nasty intentions when they buy a gun. Like I said, there are two sides to a story, with no side being the clear 'correct' side.

  • @afewtube

Sense from the UK! Best wishes from California (struggling to survive in a socialist state).

  • @afewtube Nothing can break the US, that's all that matter, never mind the UK. God Bless America!!

  • God be with you, America!

    From a Brit.

  • @afewtube I just read today King George III's acceptance speech of John Adams as the first ambassador to Great Britain after our Revolutionary War (or, as the British might say, "civil war").

And His Majesty was most kind to Mr Adams!

After 1812, we've gotten along quite well. And if you want out of that EU bullshit that is crippling your nation, I say, c'mon over, and bring France and Germany while you're at it. We'll work on Mexico - hell of a good People!

  • @jeep1234567890 Although I agree with your assesment the American Revolution was never considered civil war because the american colonists werer never considered citizens of the crown. They saw it as the "American Colony Insurrection"

  • @afewtube Same to you. From an American

  • today in Australia is September 11, God Bless America and her People. And a special blessing to us all over the World. And it makes me also to be a Mormon and hear the Mormon Tabernacle Choir sing America's National Anthem.

  • This brought me such an incredibly strong wave of goosebumps.

  • best video ever
