  • i got em mine are metzlier m3 gotta love em there saying there getting over 10,000 miles on em. i have a 99 cbr900rr and i will see how well they compare. i only got 4,000 out of my old ones at the same cost as the stickier ones

  • I already got over 7k on these dual compound tires of mine. They're still on the bike too so i def think 10k will be easy with these.

  • thats cool everybody says there better than the softer ones and i too cant tell the diffrence in performance.

  • do you know if you can get these in a size 250? sucks mine has heaps of tread left on the sides but fuck all in the middle

  • You should be able to. They sell dual compund tires for all the popular sportbike sizes. Check out your local dealer and find out how much they are and which brand it is and then shop around because you'll prolly come up with a better price espec online. They were on sale at a local dealer here so i just got them there and they mounted them for free.

  • Thanks for the info. When I eventually get my bike and get some time under my belt I was planning on taking a trip to AZ. I was a little worried about tire life.

  • No prob. Ive been really happy with them so far. Ive got well over 7k miles on these tires now. The regular sport tires onna sport bike just burn down to fast on the highway espec if its hot out. Ive heard about people running down sport tires in 3k miles in the middle of the summer when its really hot on the highway. These dual compound tires last a lot longer and they really dont lose anything for grip in the corners. Plus they also are superior in the rain.

  • Good to know. Thanks a lot for your vid they are definitely help me learn more about motorcycles and gear. You are probably saving me a good deal of money. :D

  • Glad to hear that. Im always glad to help out when i can.

  • .l.. u told me to sry

  • Huh?

  • a t 5:10 you say leave any comments or lude gesters or flip u off ...

  • lol guess im off today cuz im missing a lot of stuff. Now i can see its a finger lol thanks. (:

Sorry i didnt get that but its an older vid so i forgot about that. (:

  • I have an R6 and changed my old dunlop 208`s to pirelli corsa 3`s(dual Compound) recently and wow do they make a difference.

Like you say a more comfortable and more confidence inspiring ride.

  • and now ive gotten to ride on them for a good ammount of time on my trip where i had to face about every weather condition known to man. They performed well the wntire 4k miles. (:

  • wait hold on do they make run flats for bikes

  • My brother inlaw just got one oh those for his CBR1000. I think I might get one too when my tire wears out CBRs rule

  • one of those

  • Ive ridden on them a while now and def have no complaints. Havent had any wet weather yet that ive been caught in but im sure to get some of that on the way to AZ or back.

  • cool, quick question thats kinda unrelated: Is your home track Road America?

  • I never do track days or track running of any kind.

  • Ahh, ok.

  • i almost forgot bout the blazer, can't wait to see a new vid of that...........

  • Ive been meaning to shoot a completed vid on that but been tied up with another vid project. Hopefully this week ill show it finished. :D

  • /flips off!

    hehe, just kidding, good vid..

    /subscribe

  • lol thanx man, most appreciated :D

  • What kind of tires were you using on your old bike, the Hurricane??

  • The hurricane? I have no idea what tires it had on it. When i said old tires in this vid i was refering to the new bike tho.

  • Street smart Woody not dirt smart!!! :P

Nice tires, good idea - dual compound, I'll remember em.

  • lol :D

  • I fell in love with the dual compounds last July. I've got Pilot Road 2CTs on front and rear now. They're expensive as hell (in some cases the most expensive tire there is...) buuuut, I've got about 12,000 on the rear and it's still in -great- shape. They're just AWESOME, and as Blly said, you can ride the piss out of the things and not really notice many issues.

  • They mentioned the Pilots to me but said the price was pretty high so i didnt check any further into those. The Dunlop streetsmarts i got were exactly the same price as the qualifiers though and on sale so i got a pretty good deal,

Im real glad to see you and Bill comment on these since you've both had a longer experience with them. Makes me feel even better about buying them. Thanks (:

  • I think it helps that we ride mostly identical bikes too :)

  • Yes and that kills me. You have no idea how much ive wanted a Viffer. Very nice bike to travel on, extremely interesting sound they make, and reliable.....but then what Honda isnt? (:

  • Interesting? That sound is pure sex. :)

  • Oh hell yeah bro, I can't agree more..

  • You'd probably like the Ride By video I put up a while back...D&D FTW. :)

  • Everything out here is in the middle of nowhere :p

  • My next set of tires, I'm probably going to get these. Dunlop is making them now for H-D touring rigs, and I'll appreciate the extra mileage. I currently get around 8 thousand miles per tire on the rear tire and 20 + thousand on the front.

Thankin' ya for the great product review!!

    :-D

  • Thank you sir. Your comments are always appreciated. :D

  • how much did they cost you

  • Wow. A concise, useful, pun-free, and informative video from WoodenChairs! Who would have thunk it?

For the first five minutes I was concerned that someone had hijacked Woodenchairs channel, if not his brain, but then at the five minute part we got a reference to a naughty body part followed by some rambling, so I relaxed. He's still the Woodenchairs we all know and love (in a manly, platonic way of course). Go Republicans!

  • Im sorry Jim i guess i was just to TIREd to do a pun in this vid, I was really LUGging around all morning, but im sure ill BOUNCE back in the next ROUND and come up with a WHEELIE good one. I really feel like ive let my viewers down now. Hopefully i wont make that AIRror again. Hmm, looks like i did do a few in this commet tho so perhapes I SPOKE to soon. I know this is like one run on paragraph and that my PUNCTUREation isnt to good either. I am so sad about this im sure i look TREADful. :D

  • I discovered dual-compound tires about 3 years ago. I have been using Bridgstone BT-21's and I love them. I sport-tour regularly & also wear my tires to the edges in day to day riding. I agree that in real world riding you will not notice any loss in handling but will get a few 1000 more miles wear. Great review.

  • Thank you. Def appreciate your comment especially since you've had some experience with them.

  • O ya i remember you telling me about these before with the compounds!

  • Yeah, when I started riding back in 1992, you had to choose between performance and longevity. When I heard about dual compounds I was skeptical, to say the least. I was still thinking "old school" LoL but 1000's of miles touring and wearing my tires to their edges both on my SV and my 'Busa I couldn't be happier. The only way to go on the street.

  • Cool, ima have to try them out!

  • Very cool review and i think i might look into those tires cuz i do alot of highway riding myself for work and it eats up the center of the tires, but i also like to go out on the twisties when i get a chance, but im not real hardcore knee dragging though, especially since i dont have a suit or anything like that to really do it in! Thanks for the info though!!!*****

  • I think youd like them. Im not gonna lie, they really have impressed me even in the corners. The bike is 100 times more stable and solid through corners/turns. I was hesitant to lean to much before but these really are making not only me but the bike feel more confident.

  • Ya im going ot try them out, my tire now is pretty much new but it is a super sport tire, real soft(Avon Vipers) i like them alot in the turns, excellent cold weather grip, and awesome in the rain, i've gone over 100mph in the rain and no problems at all!

  • Hey Woodchairs....I'm glad to see you using new rubbers........you should never use the same one twice......lol....GOOD JOB!!!!

    BTW.....Where are you from?

  • Thats why you get sandwich bags and rubber bands. Instant condom! :P lol

Im in the cheese capital of the USA, Wisconsin. (:

  • Great review WC, good info on the tires mate, myself i'm not a lover of Duel compound, but hey mate, you dont have many corners in the States do yeh? LOL. only kiddin guys, dont flame me! :) Like the headin WC

  • WC?...TJ..you're from the UK? Don't you guys call the restroom the WC?..hahah..man, i have just as more fun in the comments as I do in the vids..Lol..I'm calling him that too..=)

  • Shhh Bill, dont tell him!! He He

  • Just wait, when i finally meet blimma in person im gonna throw those peanuts at him. lol :P

  • Hmmm....how do you make a middle finger in text again? :P :P :P

  • actually in this area there are some corners in fact a lot of motorcyclists come out to wisconsin for that and the fact that theres actually some nice scenery. That is when its not dumping snow on us all the time. lol

  • Excellent review!!

  • Thanks man (:

  • Two things...It's pronounced Little Lou Thirty one..with the Little shortened a wee bit..gotta have mad respect for hooked on phonics...

Second, I have dual compounds on my VFR and they are awesome..You can actually ride pretty aggressive on them without upsetting the chassis too much..

  • lol...Now i dont have to finger out a way to say it!!!!

  • Shhh Sean,

I just made that up..I actually thought what happened was..you were asked to create a screen name, and had a mild bee sting induced seizure, hit your head on the keyboard, looked at it..and were like.."hmmm, that'll work" Just kidding man, whats a lil ribbing between friends..Woodchairs makes me say crazy things..

  • lol...ya could've been the be sting:-p lol... i actually got the name lilloo from my dads friends, they called him Loo cuz our last name is Waterloo so they called me lilloo...

  • I always think it's interesting how people come up with their names..I would be here on woodenchairs page if it wasn't for that phenomena..long story..Lol,

    so the 31?

  • oh the 31 was how old i was when i started the account on here,lol...

  • and its been a love story ever since :p I just wish youd stop sending flowers. Im just not a flowers kinda guy. Now that private vid you did with the chicken that you sent me.....that was just disturbing. p :p

  • I thought that was how it was pronounced BUT i wasnt sure so thought id err on the side of caution.

Im really impressed so far with the tires and they feel much more stable and solid in the corners. Def makes me less worried about a long trip.

  • title was a good pun

  • lol Thanks man. Rebel's always encouraging my bad puns so he's to blame. I usually try to keep them back on here.

  • Oh yeah, and dude, you live in the great white North... move a few states south, and your climate will improve dramatically, lol. :)

  • If only i could....still, it is real nice here in the summer. Beautiful country actually.

  • Track days get expensive.. and they're ridiculously addictive. But they are the best thing on the planet to build confidence and skill in a controlled environment.

Kinda unrelated, but I just thought I'd throw that out there. I really want to do one before I deploy this year.. and vlog it. :)

  • Nice review vid! well done

  • Thanks man (:

  • are the dual compound tires more expensive than the others??

  • Same cost as the Dunlop Qualifiers. (:

  • hey wc, what series dunlop is that tire? i am putting together a gixxer 1000 with a 240 rear tire. i ordered a shinko 240 for the rear but they sent me a 240 dunlop elite. it has the same tread pattern as yours. i am trying to find a matching front. are yours dunlop elites or something else???

  • Hey Ray, good to hear from you again. (:

Nope, my tires are called Dunlops "streetsmarts" not elite. Thats even printed on the sidewall.

  • well atleast with new tires it will be more safe for toast!

  • LOL that actually did make me laugh out loud! Nice one. (:

  • Haha thats right..Toasts safety is number #1 lol

  • That is right. I agree 100% with that statement.
