You are right Saigalbakat123. Indian and Pakistan culture and family values are same. I am Pakistani and have many Indain friends, whom I respect and cherish their friendship.
Noor sang this song when she visted India. Dalip Kumar was her host. I am an Indian too but share the same culture with any Punjabi Pakistani. Bothe great singers Rafi and Noor Jehan both were punjabi born just 100 miles apart. Remeber, Nations are not built on religions but culture and values.
@Saigalbakhat123 Well put Saiga Sahib. Societies are often torn apart by arrogant religious bigots who are blindly followed by equally narrow minded misfits. Punjabi culture with its unique music and dances predates religion. Music is the essence of life. From the sweetness of the bulbul singing to the morning call of the rooster. Mad zealots have saught to sow hatred between Sikhs, Hindus and Muslims instead of love. They want to finish music. All they do is eat, sleep and shit. Punjab zindabad
Faiz Ahmed Faiz, Yasir Arafat & Sheikh Ahmed Yasin had been class felows.
when Israel attacked Palestine in 1967 & did attempts aggressively against Palestinian Muslims Yasir Arafat invited Faiz Ahmed Faiz to visit the victim and injured muslims in the camps of refugees so Faiz went there.
when he came back Pakistan he decided to use his poetical properties in favour of helpless & stricken people by the global and local cuels around the world.

No doubt this poem is amazing and madam noor jehan made it ever lasting but in the last stanza there are two mistakes husan and wasal instead of husn and wasl. I dont understand when it was recorded how these mistakes were not noted by anybody?
Good poetry or music does not belong to any country but it's for the entire world and it's suppose to bring people together. Shame on you people. Why do you forget that it was ONE country that got divided? That you have the exact same DNA as people from across the border.
Gandhi had it right, the country shouldn't have been divided. I'm an American but was born in Pakistan and am ashamed of some of you who are spewing hate for NO reason at all. Grow up.

children, children!!! there are no boundaries to music!! Noor Jehan is an amazing singer as well as Lataji. Why do we have to behave like senseless politicians? Appreciation of music is an art in itself. Please remember you are an artist.. let's not degrade music to the level of politics...
this is fact: nusrat fateh ali khan had an amazingly horrible voice. he had an amazing amount of control over his voice, he was an asset to music, yes.
we have more than a billion ppl and we haven't been able to produce a maestro like him; we've been able to produce hundreds of maestros miles better than him.
do not compare the masters of classical music that india has produced to the one or two that pakistan has produced.
dear cricketlover ji inse behas karke koi fayada nahi..kya kaan fadu awaj hai ye, lekin sunege thode hi ye bat.bas gadar ka ek dialogue kafi hai inke liye ki baap baap hota hai aur beta beta. lekin ajkal k bache kuchh samjhte nahi bado ko, to ye inki galti nahi. hum kuchh kehna nahi chahte aisa lekin majboor karte hai aur bekar hi aisee behas ka hissa banna padta hai
but that's okay, everyone has different preferences.
and also, i'm not going to say noor jehan is better because you or someone else older in pakistan thinks so. to me, lata mangeshkar is miles better. to me this is obvious, and its too bad you cannot see that.
dude y dnt u jus lay off...ur useless time wastin comments are annoyin everyone...u always hav to plague every brilliant video wid ur garbage...apart from Lata, ur indian female singers are nothing compared to Noor Jehan, even when all the likes of alka, kavita, shreya, sunidhi, anuradha, sadhana and all the rest of em are put together, they cnt match Noor Jehan...ur so full of it and stuck up...i'm pakistani but i still respect india, but its ppl like u that tarnish da image of ur country

its really nice....yes aise hi hota hai...waise ek baar dhokha khaanay ke baad and after a span of some time the love never remains the same for the one who has betrayed u...
all hindus r jealous of muslims especially pakistanis. saying crap doesnt make any difference to us pakistanis but shows ur jealously with pakistan pakistan zindabad
please your nationalism is stifling...not to mention so un-Muslim. Ever heard of being just. Whats wil ALL hindus being jealous esp Pakistan? can't u understand there are dumb people whatever creed or religion, its the individual. BTW just a pointer, Pakistan are the biggest watchers and buyers of Hindi Bollywood movies!! and yes I am a Muslim from India with family in Pakistan...so have a right to correct you on all fronts!
yeah now they're crap. pakistan did excel in the drama industry leaving india behind, but now that's become crap too. but who knows what lies ahead :|
the reaason dramas became crap, pple try to copy western.even though their own cultures and traditions are so good. look those plays like "puri chandi ki raat" "sona chandi" unkahi, etc they were so good & clean, now they want to become "kawa challa haans ki chal".thats the reason its crap and i hate those misogynist punjabi stage shows, its pity these shows are performed by muslims.
it is a profound tragedy that some of you have made this forum where one can find beautiful music, a platform for discussing politics and spewing out hate. i came here today to hear
this lovely song saved in my favorites....and am shocked by some of the comments. why
focus on the ugly, and ignore beautiful aspects of life and the world around us? why not
just listen to the song and sway in joy? doesn't that beat getting all worked up with anger
tum jaisay logon kee wajah sa ajj ham kitna safar kar rahay hein , yeh dehshat gardee ko khatam karo, nahi chalaygee IMRAN KHAN is our futur pak ZINDA BAAD
I was able to download several Noorjehan, Mehdi hassan songs original (not live versions) from emusic. Affordable downloads. I am Indian so I dont have much access to these beautiful songs from Pak. But I love these songs and ghazals.
Madam Noor Jehan started her career as playback singer with Urdu film "Salma" and Punjabi film "Rani Khan" but Naseem Begum was the most dominating playback singer after her marvelous performance in the melodious film "Saheli", which was the only super hit film of the year. and the heronie of salam was yasmeen and bahar
You've made me double check my resources lol, i was wrong, Actually anar kali was shamim ara's first movie and noor jehan was first one she had as her play back singer. i had it confused. Thanks for correcting me.
Excellent. i've heard this song for thousands of times but watching it for the first time. Do you guys know shamim ara was the first person to have noor jehan as a play back singer in pakistan?
How can anyone come up with any song comparable to this classic one - beautifully sung, acted, picturised & lyrics - immortal. Golden era of Pakistani Films
Classic

well we do have much better singers, and that's obvious.
nusrat counts more as a classical singer than an actual singer, and if you wanna talk abt classical singers, india's miles above you guys.
same w/ regular singers, who do you have? the goat-voiced noor jehan?
who does india have?
lata, asha, manna dey, mukesh, rafi, kishore, udit, sanu, sonu, kavita, alka ... and many many more.
so obviously, india has much better singers than you; the world has accepted it, stop denying it.

umm why would india be jealous of you guys?
we have more land, more money, more respect, better music, and we actually have a culture.
this is a beautiful song, try not to bring religion/nationalism into it.

Pakistani movies in 50's and 60's were not so far behind from Indian movies back than. But now......?????
seas1129 4 years ago
yeah now they're crap. pakistan did excel in the drama industry leaving india behind, but now that's become crap too. but who knows what lies ahead :|
gunahgaar86 4 years ago
the reaason dramas became crap, pple try to copy western.even though their own cultures and traditions are so good. look those plays like "puri chandi ki raat" "sona chandi" unkahi, etc they were so good & clean, now they want to become "kawa challa haans ki chal".thats the reason its crap and i hate those misogynist punjabi stage shows, its pity these shows are performed by muslims.

it is a profound tragedy that some of you have made this forum where one can find beautiful music, a platform for discussing politics and spewing out hate. i came here today to hear
this lovely song saved in my favorites....and am shocked by some of the comments. why
focus on the ugly, and ignore beautiful aspects of life and the world around us? why not
just listen to the song and sway in joy? doesn't that beat getting all worked up with anger
and hostility...? (sigh!)
