  • The contents of the song [communist feelings of Faiz] don't suit to the situation in which the song has been has been shot.

  • What a song!! The old gem by Indian Noor Jahan, Even when she left India she took what is so Indian Art to Pakistan.

  • I am an Australian Indian...my girlfriend is pakistani and I grew up watching bollywood movies..never been exposed to pakistani cinema though many pakistanis live in Australia..I loved this beautiful song the first time I listened to it in our engagement...thanks for uploading this noddybaba..I owe you big time

  • You are right Saigalbakat123. Indian and Pakistan culture and family values are same. I am Pakistani and have many Indain friends, whom I respect and cherish their friendship.

  • She is Shamim ara......

  • long live madamji

  • Noor sang this song when she visted India. Dalip Kumar was her host. I am an Indian too but share the same culture with any Punjabi Pakistani. Bothe great singers Rafi and Noor Jehan both were punjabi born just 100 miles apart. Remeber, Nations are not built on religions but culture and values.

  • @Saigalbakhat123 Well put Saiga Sahib. Societies are often torn apart by arrogant religious bigots who are blindly followed by equally narrow minded misfits. Punjabi culture with its unique music and dances predates religion. Music is the essence of life. From the sweetness of the bulbul singing to the morning call of the rooster. Mad zealots have saught to sow hatred between Sikhs, Hindus and Muslims instead of love. They want to finish music. All they do is eat, sleep and shit. Punjab zindabad

  • absolutely lovely!

  • So beautiful!

  • this Nazm was an new start in faiz career as he converted himself into a Revolutionary Poet from a Romantic Poet .

  • Faiz Ahmed Faiz, Yasir Arafat & Sheikh Ahmed Yasin had been class felows.

when Israel attacked Palestine in 1967 & did attempts aggressively against Palestinian Muslims Yasir Arafat invited Faiz Ahmed Faiz to visit the victim and injured muslims in the camps of refugees so Faiz went there.

when he came back Pakistan he decided to use his poetical properties in favour of helpless & stricken people by the global and local cuels around the world.

  • yeh jo sanjhi virasat hai ye khuda kee inaayat hai. ye geet nahin hai sangeet nahi hai ye muhabbat hai jo hamare dilon me koot koot kar bhari hui hai. yr purane din hame yad dilate hain ki muhabbat kabhi dilon ko alag nahi hone deti. pyar kabhi mitata nahi. let us love each other and make the world one. jeete raho.

  • Waah! Is there a difference in Indian and Pakistani music? Dont think so! Then why the differences?!!

  • beautiful song... worth appriciating..

  • What a lovely song and what a lovely lady. When I hear songs and music like this I wonder why India and Pakistan have borders. Both of us completely dissolve when we hear music like this. What's the problem between us.

  • I totally agree with you. I do not think emotionally we are away from each other.Let us pray both countries come together once again

  • ONe of the best pieces of poetry and one of the best pieces of music that I have ever heard.

  • shamim ara infact from india. Shamim Ara to her innumerable fans, was the daughter of a popular dancer from Aligarh, Uttar Pardesh, India. In 1956 she along with her family migrated to Pakistan.

  • You are right and her birth name is Putli Bai.

  • Her decision to migrate to Pakistan was very well! She is an amazing actress.

  • awesome song i love it :D

  • One of the all time great.

  • Very nice poetry (ab bi dilkash hay trea husn magar kia kijay)

  • What poetry by Faiz Ahmed Faiz Sahib, no match for it and then Madam Noor Jahan singing it does full justice to the song nobody else could do it.

Really, aur bhe dukh hey zamanay mohabat ke siva in this turbulent world.

Thanks for letting us share this beautiful song.

    Anwar Bawany.

  • Mujh say pehli si mohabbat meri mehboob na mang

Main nay samjha tha keh too hai tou darakhshan hai hayat

Tera gham hai tou gham-e-dehar ka jhagra kiya hai

  • Teri soorat say hai aalam main baharoon ko sabaat

Teri aankhoon kay siwa duya main rakha kiya hai

Too jo mil jaye taqdeer nigon ho jaye

Yun na tha, main nay faqat chaha tha yun ho jaye

  • Mujh say pehli si mohabbat meri mehboob na mang

Un ginat sadyun kay tareek behimanh tilsm

    Resham-o-atlas-o-kum khwab main bunwaye hoye

  • Jaa bejah biktay hoye kocha-o-bazaar main jism

Khak main lithrey hoye khoon main nehlaye hoye

Laut jati hai udher ko bhi nazar kiya kejiye

Abb bhi dilkash hai tera husan magar kiya kejiye

Aur bhi dukh hain zamanay main mohabbat kay siwa

Rahatein aur bhi hain wasal ki rahat kay siwa

Mujh say pehli si mohabbat meri mehboob na mang

  • oh... so beautiful!

  • I love Madam's voiceeeee!!

  • Absolutely marvellous, being in India my coming accross this song was accindental finding, but what a find! This excellent piece of art immortalized by the poetry of Faiz sahib and equally matched with vocal rendition by Madam Noor Jahan.

  • 1962--- Lovely ,beautiful Shamim Ara ---and then this lovely ,meaningful ghazal---what a lovely combination. Very ,very joyful indeed. And then ,those beautiful days---1962 -------I had just started my 1st year MBBS at King Edward in beautiful Lahore. Those good days are gone -----but the pleasant memory of those lovely days is not gone. This memory will not go away --till this earthly life is over. Since then the political events have gotten so brutal --so sad.

  • Faiz Ahmed Faiz

    awesome wording

  • Beautiful, I just love this song and I am Indian, hope you don;t say mean things because I am indian and like it.

  • I must say thanks very much for your valud comments

I love INDIA and I am from Pakistan.

We have too much in common and i dont let childish comments get to me.

    Music has no Boundaries!!!!

LATA /Kishore/Sonu/UDIT and RAFI are my favorite singers

  • dil kosh karthaa eeee .. jeeyo jeeyo .. very nicely put bro. this is a beaufiful song .. i am indian but pakistani and indian are the same people .. if you look at our DNA .. we have the SAME GENETIC makeup. same blood .. same language .. pakistani are our brothers.

    god bless.

  • Asit1 I love you. You are my neighbour.

  • @asit1 i like it too and i am indian. a thing of beauty is joy for ever. it is a beautiful song. why classify it as indian or pakistani?

  • @asit1 , all five are not same..........:)

  • @asit1 Bhai Asit........Art does not have any boundries...........kalaa ki koi seemaa naheen hoti.

  • No doubt this poem is amazing and madam noor jehan made it ever lasting but in the last stanza there are two mistakes husan and wasal instead of husn and wasl. I dont understand when it was recorded how these mistakes were not noted by anybody?

  • Good poetry or music does not belong to any country but it's for the entire world and it's suppose to bring people together. Shame on you people. Why do you forget that it was ONE country that got divided? That you have the exact same DNA as people from across the border.

Gandhi had it right, the country shouldn't have been divided. I'm an American but was born in Pakistan and am ashamed of some of you who are spewing hate for NO reason at all. Grow up.

  • I Love the poetry.. and voice of Madam Noor Jehan !! Its an all time HIT song for me.

  • terii suurat se hai aalam mein bahaaroon ko sabaat

terii aankhoon ke sivaa duniyaa mein rakkhaa kyaa hai

tuu jo mil jaaye to taqadiir niguun ho jaaye

yuun na thaa main ne faqat chaahaa thaa yuun ho jaaye

aur bhii dukh hain zamaane mein mohabbat ke sivaa

raahatein aur bhii hain vasl kii raahat ke sivaa....wah wah Faiz hoon aur saath noor e jahan lagta ha sooraj channd aasman se zameen par aagaye wah wah

  • Madam has done justice to Faiz

  • the great singer of pakistan noor jahan, my allah gives her peace.....

  • I did not know this song was from a movie ---thought it was a "gair filmi" song

  • This was written as a poem in the 1930s. Later it was used in a film. The poem is one of the landmarks of Urdu poetry!

  • Thanks for enlightening me . The lyrics are so rich and her voice is just divine.

  • faiz ahmed faiz epic poem

  • Beautiful words, voice and cadence!

  • zabar 10 old is always gold

  • This is a wonderful melodious song. The singing, the poetry, the orchestration and the tune all come together in this song.

  • Noor Jahan's one of the best. She was best no wonder she was called noor e tarannum.

  • please....enjoy the song.....why should we (asians) fight all the time??? please....stopppp

  • great song and faiz sahab at his finest...

  • Thanks very much for your valued commentsplease stay at my channel and u may have some more of your interest

  • This is one of my favorites and is sung very beautifully... thanx for posting a very good song any1 have lyrics.....

  • ur job is to annoy ppl is it...that's great y not try doing something useful for once...band karro apna yeh bakvaas aur daffa ho jayo yahaan sey...

  • if i'm annoying you, then i'm glad.

  • zabaaardast

  • children, children!!! there are no boundaries to music!! Noor Jehan is an amazing singer as well as Lataji. Why do we have to behave like senseless politicians? Appreciation of music is an art in itself. Please remember you are an artist.. let's not degrade music to the level of politics...

  • wow, look how you are blinded by ignorance.

this is fact: nusrat fateh ali khan had an amazingly horrible voice. he had an amazing amount of control over his voice, he was an asset to music, yes.

we have more than a billion ppl and we haven't been able to produce a maestro like him; we've been able to produce hundreds of maestros miles better than him.

do not compare the masters of classical music that india has produced to the one or two that pakistan has produced.

  • dear cricketlover ji inse behas karke koi fayada nahi..kya kaan fadu awaj hai ye, lekin sunege thode hi ye bat.bas gadar ka ek dialogue kafi hai inke liye ki baap baap hota hai aur beta beta. lekin ajkal k bache kuchh samjhte nahi bado ko, to ye inki galti nahi. hum kuchh kehna nahi chahte aisa lekin majboor karte hai aur bekar hi aisee behas ka hissa banna padta hai

  • well, obviously we disagree.

but that's okay, everyone has different preferences.

and also, i'm not going to say noor jehan is better because you or someone else older in pakistan thinks so. to me, lata mangeshkar is miles better. to me this is obvious, and its too bad you cannot see that.

  • i agree lata ji , asha ji are far better than noorjah. no comparison with any singer of pakistan

  • well we do have much better singers, and that's obvious.

nusrat counts more as a classical singer than an actual singer, and if you wanna talk abt classical singers, india's miles above you guys.

same w/ regular singers, who do you have? the goat-voiced noor jehan?

    who does india have?

lata, asha, manna dey, mukesh, rafi, kishore, udit, sanu, sonu, kavita, alka ... and many many more.

so obviously, india has much better singers than you; the world has accepted it, stop denying it.

  • dude y dnt u jus lay off...ur useless time wastin comments are annoyin everyone...u always hav to plague every brilliant video wid ur garbage...apart from Lata, ur indian female singers are nothing compared to Noor Jehan, even when all the likes of alka, kavita, shreya, sunidhi, anuradha, sadhana and all the rest of em are put together, they cnt match Noor Jehan...ur so full of it and stuck up...i'm pakistani but i still respect india, but its ppl like u that tarnish da image of ur country

  • but i like noorjah voice, isme unki voice hai lagta nahi, unke gaye anmol ghadi k gane aaj bhi naye lagte hai

  • south india is a part of india, believe it or not, so why wouldn't we remake the movie in hindi or another language?

    don't be stupid.

and you think so lowly of indian music, yet moe pakistanis watch indian movies and listen to indian music than thei own music.

and its not most of our songs, there are of course a few. you make a semi-okay song, and then our brilliant singers use their lovely voices to perfect the song. and that's only for a couple songs, no real famous ones.

  • btw, did anybody know this song is inspiratrion behind the song - "teri aankhon ke siwa duniya mein rakha kya hai" penned by hasrat jaipuri.

    faiz ahmed faiz rocks!

  • this song brings tears to my eyes. soul touching voice and the words are so beautiful. simply out of this world.

  • these women had everything- beaty and artistic abilities.

  • wow, Shamim Ara was so pretty...

  • nanokhala so mean

  • great my favourite

    :)

  • its really nice....yes aise hi hota hai...waise ek baar dhokha khaanay ke baad and after a span of some time the love never remains the same for the one who has betrayed u...

  • chacha grow up

  • all hindus r jealous of muslims especially pakistanis. saying crap doesnt make any difference to us pakistanis but shows ur jealously with pakistan pakistan zindabad

  • please your nationalism is stifling...not to mention so un-Muslim. Ever heard of being just. Whats wil ALL hindus being jealous esp Pakistan? can't u understand there are dumb people whatever creed or religion, its the individual. BTW just a pointer, Pakistan are the biggest watchers and buyers of Hindi Bollywood movies!! and yes I am a Muslim from India with family in Pakistan...so have a right to correct you on all fronts!

  • thank you for writing that! all of these misinformed nationalist comments on youtube are annoying!

  • umm why would india be jealous of you guys?

we have more land, more money, more respect, better music, and we actually have a culture.

this is a beautiful song, try not to bring religion/nationalism into it.

  • agree totally. as it is, shamim ara was originally from India - but who cares. lets just enjoy the song.

  • yep, in fact noor jahan was from india too.

  • Bohat Khoob,

  • Beautiful song. God bless her soul.

  • Please note she is singing without much music, yet she is matchless.

  • Noor Jehan - Nothing Compares x

  • A class of it own Beautiful song thanks.

  • Absolutely beautiful poetry... and excellent singing. It brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it. Two artists at the height of their creativity!

  • Madam Noor Jehan sung this poem so elequently that great poet, greater human being Faiz dedicated this to Noor Jehan

    Vow

  • What else do we expect when Noorjehan sings Faiz!! Its just sublime. Thank you mere dost for this post!!

  • Awesome song... Faiz sahib has outdone himself with this one...

  • Pakistani movies in 50's and 60's were not so far behind from Indian movies back than. But now......?????

  • yeah now they're crap. pakistan did excel in the drama industry leaving india behind, but now that's become crap too. but who knows what lies ahead :|

  • the reaason dramas became crap, pple try to copy western.even though their own cultures and traditions are so good. look those plays like "puri chandi ki raat" "sona chandi" unkahi, etc they were so good & clean, now they want to become "kawa challa haans ki chal".thats the reason its crap and i hate those misogynist punjabi stage shows, its pity these shows are performed by muslims.

  • Beautiful song, Beautiful lady(actress).

  • Noddybaba, labjomein shukriya kaise ada kare. Khuda aapko barkat de.

  • Who's the actress in that movie? Is it Noor Jehan?

  • Nahee she is Shamim Aara

  • Spellbinding eloquence and elegance!

  • mashallah, kya baat hai.

  • cant you guys just enjoy the song instead of bringing all negative feelings to you tube

  • How come Altaf and Imran get in to the discussion of this song?

  • aaj kal key singer aisey ganey aur aaj kal key shaer aisey geet kuon naheen likh saktey?

  • Impeccable, nobody can match this melodious voice

  • it is a profound tragedy that some of you have made this forum where one can find beautiful music, a platform for discussing politics and spewing out hate. i came here today to hear

this lovely song saved in my favorites....and am shocked by some of the comments. why

focus on the ugly, and ignore beautiful aspects of life and the world around us? why not

just listen to the song and sway in joy? doesn't that beat getting all worked up with anger

    and hostility...? (sigh!)

  • tu waqai hee bara hehan chod hai

  • you r the biggest mother fucker I dont no who fucked ur mther a dog or a pig and u were bourn and fuck your Pir also murderer

  • hosh kee pill lo

tum jaisay logon kee wajah sa ajj ham kitna safar kar rahay hein , yeh dehshat gardee ko khatam karo, nahi chalaygee IMRAN KHAN is our futur pak ZINDA BAAD

  • The song is really nice. I am sure that Imran and Altaf would like it.

  • you will soon be known as a MAD in the whole you tube community

  • HE IS mad cow

  • I am a supporter of MQM too but Millivideo is an Indian in disguise. He is not a Pakistani for sure. I think you are right about his mental status.

  • Beautiful woman & Beautiful song. Anyone know where I can download it? Plz let me know ASAP!!!!

  • faiz the greatest!!!to top it madam noorjahan..

  • Man this great song!!!!

  • Madam Noor Jehan started her career as playback singer with Urdu film "Salma" and Punjabi film "Rani Khan" but Naseem Begum was the most dominating playback singer after her marvelous performance in the melodious film "Saheli", which was the only super hit film of the year. and the heronie of salam was yasmeen and bahar

  • U have SO much info - wow amazing noddubaba

  • You've made me double check my resources lol, i was wrong, Actually anar kali was shamim ara's first movie and noor jehan was first one she had as her play back singer. i had it confused. Thanks for correcting me.

  • Excellent. i've heard this song for thousands of times but watching it for the first time. Do you guys know shamim ara was the first person to have noor jehan as a play back singer in pakistan?

  • Seriously? kool

  • faiz is still alive in his peotry

  • How can anyone come up with any song comparable to this classic one - beautifully sung, acted, picturised & lyrics - immortal. Golden era of Pakistani Films
