  • Ive been watching Royce Gracie since 1993 UFC#1 they are the best tactical practicioners and creators of BJJ!

  • this is awesome

but do you have adhd ?

  • Being fairly new to the sport, I find your videos very informative and light hearted - great work. Since the days prior to UFC, (no rules) and ever since I saw Royce perform, I have been a fan since. Now at the age of 42, my wife, son and I finally had the nerve to join a BJJ club and roll with the rest. What a great way to lose weight, get in shape and have fun! Great work guys!!

  • I just figured I would let you guys no.. the wrestling guillitoine (which is actually done differently in wrestling) is not used to sub a person in wrestling. Its actually simply used to pin your opponent. Submissions are not allowed in wrestling.. awesome breakdown as usual tho guys..

  • YOU GUYS ARE LEGENDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • So could you guys do a video or series on serious neck cranks for life or death type encounters. I like neck cranks, throat attacks, and and any other way to KO targets as swiftly as possible in special forces/movie hero fashion. I mean intensity, 5 seconds from sight to fight to end type intensity.

I think for the "epic" moments in life I will likely need throat/spine/skull attacks primarily. -Chris

  • GRACIE!

  • Quick question guys. I'm a novice a BJJ and I'm wondering are there any good dvd's for drills?

  • Love you guys, im gonna buy the dvds cause you deserve it and I want to but dead presidents i your pocket. Please please please keep up the breakdowns. Your the best. Your excellent princes of the sport.

  • man that is one giant size school.

  • GSP

  • It's like a game of chess.

Watching this makes me want to find a Jiu Jitsu school and learn today!

  • Shields did better than I expected.

  • you bet your ass there is a shout out to Eddie Bravo, because the gracies knew fuck all about the twister

  • GSP because he already won

  • AHHHH i want to train with you guys you are amazing

  • GSP!!!!!!!!!!!

  • GSP!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Awesome shout out to Eddie Bravo

  • those breakdown are awesome

  • This is great stuff!

  • @Cryttan. Bro, the korean zombie learnt off youtube... It worked for him and he ended up getting submission of the year.

  • @churcuz83 Yeah but i bet he practised that move hell of a lot aswell :)

  • gracie !!

  • You don't learn it from watching videos or dvd's..

It's not like you can do it in real life from wathcing someone else do it a few times xd

  • @Cryttan you get the idea and then you can practice in the gym. Ever heard of rolling?

  • @Michkins1 Yeah I wasn't saying it to be negative, just saying that you probably won't pull something off in a match that you've seen in a video once and never trained. I'm watching these vids to learn but my point was you will still have to practice the move a lot yourself.

  • GSP!

  • This is an incredible analysis. It's amazing to see all the details of solid technique broken-down they way these guys do. Thanks!

  • GSP too me just seems like the most focused but calm and when he channels that into his training he comes out sharper each time

  • GSP

  • wow that was crazy

  • gsp

  • This is a wrestling move that i used frequently. You cant break someones spine .

  • GSP i hope its not too late to get the gracie combative dvds :\

  • Gotta love the twister!

  • Respect!

  • love the twister won my match awhile bak wif it

  • GSP he works so hard in the gym

  • Great video! And THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for giving respect for the ugly named but ancient wrestling(!) as the source of the twister. Wrestling is not a specific category name at this point, thousands of years after many styles were invented (yes, including lethal techniques beyond pinning back in the spartan days), but it is related to BJJ, and all the other ground attacks because it developed with human migration, and split away only as people spread around the world.

  • WOW......bjj looks gay

  • No one gets out of my arm bar

  • hi

  • You guys said people who dont have those dvds say that they dont work...I dont have them and I believe in what you guys teach its just that I dont have the money to buy them!

  • in wrestling it was an abdominal stretch used to turn an opponent and expose the back to the mat.

  • GSP

  • does the twister do anything other than cause pain? could a person with a high enough pain tolerance just walk away from it?

  • @kendryna2 no man, that's going to herniate a vertebrate or something...

  • awesome videos you guys should show clips of the actual fights your talking about

  • great vid! i wish i can lern from you guys!!!! ....

  • you are lucky to have a family who is involved with your passions... I wish i had a brother.

  • Excellent break down!

  • You guys are awesomely enthusiastic. Love it. Wish I heard this during the fight other than listening to Mike Goldbergs failed commentary.

  • @ninjagrimez i hate mike goldberg so much...

  • no homo fellas, you're just fighting

  • i first saw the twister on THE MARIO SPERRY VALE TUDO SERIES 1 back in 1997. mario sperry did it before eddie bravo.

  • gsp

  • These are great videos to see just how this stuff is done. Cool =]

  • I want a blue belt man

  • gsp

  • Great stuff guys, love the energy!

  • Great analysis

    thanks

  • GSP. You guys are doing a great job.

  • wow I didn't know these videos, these guys are great!

  • i have the set and i love every minute of it! thanks for preparing me and my twin for the streeets

  • i hate the gracie family actin like they made bjj...they stole jui jits of the japan...a gracie member learned from a japan ,aster ansd made some adjustments adding striking to street wize the art...the japs shoujdl have the credit for jui jits...all countrys have there style of jits,...russia has sumbo which is like judo...jits came from japan to start...so all the bjj shit is thanks to japs...if there were no japs teaching then gracie would never know jits

  • @davejones8 They did make BJJ lol. Just not the original "Jiu jitsu" everyone knows this. That's why they say BJJ not just JJ in general.

  • @JamesHarmeson yeah....u missed the post i was replying to...but had the gracies never fought in ufc the jits would have eventually become big in amwerica like it is now...i think jap jits is much much more high level..look at shinya aoki...and gracies always lose to shitty jap stas

  • @davejones8 Well they kind of put on the first ufc so you should just thank them really, but you do have a point.

  • @JamesHarmeson ya get you facts right idot..they did not put on the first ufc..there was 2 buisness man that thougght of it,,there dad helpt think of the ring and shit...had there been no gracies ufc would still be heere,,,fukkkk u idiot

  • @davejones8 where are you from? russia? please learn to type. Yes, he helped with it, however you want to put it. Stop hating on the gracies, you sound jealous.

  • @JamesHarmeson no im native indian from canada....im more canadian then anyone...anyways im not jealousw bro...i just think they shoujld not get so much credit all the time,,,,just like i dont think eddie bravo should get credit forr claiming he inevented moves..he only evented new naames///and i dont care if i hit a wrong key for my typing..fuk you,,if u dnt like dnt read

  • @davejones8 When did this come onto eddie bravo? like we weren't even talking about this. Also, im "native american" from Canada too, i'm cree. So what? Eddie Bravo didn't claim he invented it by the way, it was more Joe Rogan than anyone, even in an interview Bravo just states it was a wrestling move before he did it. He was just the first person to pull t off, even he knows this. Stop the hostility bro, we are from the same land lol.

  • @JamesHarmeson like the rubber gaurd eddie writes a book and calls his....and u lie u aint cree budddy that is to much a slim chance....u liar white eye....and cree are coward and enemy of blackfoot fuk head,..there fags

  • @davejones8 you're a disgusting human being, keep being racist to everyone "budddy"

  • All cuz of Chan Sung Jung baby >) His Twister sub od garcia started a frenzy of ppl wanting to learn the Twister.

  • Gracie Jui jitsu or bjj is an amazing art. watching this shows how incredibly technical this martial art is. much props to the Gracie's. I wonder if they knew all those decades ago how huge this thing would be. they have the best hustle in all of combat sports they have all the angles covered. great talents and even greater business men.

  • the twister in wrestling is called the guillotine. i wrestle in high school and the guillontine is my bread and butter. i wrestled my brother who weight 285 and is 6'5 and got him in this move and im only 5'11 and wieght only 145 and i made him cry

  • i almost didn`t recognise him without his mustache :D

  • Not an Eddie Bravo move, a wrestling move that has been used in Jitz many many years ago. A little research goes a long way. Bravo doesn't create new moves, he makes old moves famous.

  • gsp owns

  • You don't hear much about this like Kimuras and arm bars and knee bars, but is the calf slicer dangerous like in terms of permanent or painful damage?

  • gsp

  • GSP is gonna take it for sure

  • I think GSP is going to win. He seems unstoppable, just like Anderson Silva and Jon Jones right now.

  • Love the way you guys teach.

I hope gsp gets it he's got the moves and experience. And I would really like to get the DVD set. Roll on!

  • nice vids!

  • Eddie Bravo move. Yeah buddy. I really like these guys.

  • Been watching and following the Gracie family since UFC 1 and was an immediate believer cause I, like Royce, am a slim dude who (at first glance) would be picked against in almost any fight. Been a BJJ lover ever since. Love that the newest gen of the Gracie family is doing it properly and still has that contagious enthusiasm! Too long didn't read?: Much props to GJJ and I'm going with GSP as the guy doesn't sleep on ANY fight and is very humble - respect to him for repping martial arts truly!

  • gsp

  • Rorion's sons are some really great guys, great teachers without any ego.

  • You guys have some awesome videos!

  • UFC should hire these guys for an extended after fight breakdown show

  • @banpreso That's exactly what I was thinking!

  • @banpreso his father was the owner of ufc

  • @banpreso As much I love Gracie BJJ and their contribution to MMA, I think Dana White and the UFC try to distance themselves from their Gracie roots. They want an image of evolution. In reality, I think the sport has devolved in to a mix of boxing (gloves, wrist wraps) and whatever.

  • this is the gayest thing masquerading as masculinity I have ever seen.

  • @dtp5150 you're a fag

  • The Gracie's have given Mankind something so special, I dont think it will be compared to anything for the rest of the mulinium!!!

  • rener for president,

  • not a headlock its scarf hold

  • @Mrgummiwurm bitch bow down to a mothafuckin gracie

  • I SAW THAT MOVE IN MARIO SPERRY'S VALE TUDO SERIES. EASY ASS MOVE. IT'S A HIP-SPINE LOCK LOCK MOVE.

  • i dont think the dvd would be as good as they say.there prob just talking it up. how could a dvd be that good. im sceptical, if they were to GIVE ME THE DVD, then they could prove me wrong

  • @JEMOMER The DVD is the most effective way to learn for the price without paying for classes and training hands on (which is very expensive, but nothing beats hands on training from experts). Period.

  • you guys are great. I wish I could train with both of you.

  • GSP! Easy! Even coming back from surgery! I want the combat series baaadd!

  • rener should get a job presenting in the ufc, guy is so entertaining. expert on jiu jitsu. knows his stuff. what more do you need! :)

  • GSP

  • Cool

  • very detailed and to the point luv these guys there awesome!

  • Rener talks fast ! great guys though

  • GSP!!! GSP!!! GSP!!!

  • bjj and wrestling are dominant in UFC cause in PRIDE u could throw knees in any position.

  • @kloklo12389 Knees on the ground favours wrestlers! Also 5 of the 7 UFC champs (4 if you think Frankie wrestles more then strikes) use primarily striking so i dont see how BJJ and Wrestling are so dominate. And Yellow cards and early stand ups were the main reason Wrestling and BJJ were not as dominate in Pride, NOT "knees from any position"

  • Rener would be a great third commentator for the UFC, he'd be great for focusing on the jui-jitsu periods of fights.

  • @mitnahbitnah thats what joes there for though :P

  • @juneda33 Sometimes Joe can be abit wrong and doesn't have as much knowledge as rener and rener also has a good sense of humour very good at explaining things but yeah joes still a good commentator.

  • @mitnahbitnah joe rogan is good when they go down to. he is a brown belt under Eddie. =)

  • @Kernnun and also has a brown belt under Jean Jacques Machado thats were Eddie bravo got his black belt

  • @mitnahbitnah That would actually very useful

  • @mitnahbitnah he talks abit fast though....or maybe im just abit slow LOL.

  • @mitnahbitnah I agree, but Joe does a good job and it could get chaotic with three people commentating.

  • Gsp typo lol

  • Gap all day have to Rep my home town

  • Awesome breakdown! thanks guys much appreciated

  • Gsp

  • Nice breakdown

  • 2:56 A Cervical twist is a neck crank...Lumbar twist I think is what you meant.

  • It's like listening to one brain with two mouths! These guys are awesome.

  • love it!!

  • is it legal in bjj or only in grappling ?

  • Jebem vam kevu kurvu iz pornica

  • keva vam je rava i u pornicu glumi ...

  • JEW JIT SU WAS NOT MADE IN BRAZIL SORRY TO SAY IT WAS MADE IN JAPAN DUMB MOTHER FUCKERS

  • @LADYGAGAISGODx The "JEW JIT SU" maybe born in Jerusalen or just in your mind bro! the real name it's JUJITSU and brazilian jujitsu it's a variant, don't talk about things you don't know!

  • Rener is the best! Hahaha I love that guy

  • the gracie family are awesome,i would like a change to learn their jujitsu personaly,it would be an honour, this is some real stuff the ideal thing non better than this

  • chest is not cervical vertebrae, chest is at the level of the thoracic spine. good video though!

  • Much love and respect!

  • these guys are freekin awesome,.. LOVE these vids! THANKS!

  • these are amazing

  • It was awesome that you guys gave props to Twister Eddie

  • I love how you guys are soo enthusiastic about bjj and i love how you guys break it down aswell..Good job guys.

  • awesome cervix twist

  • Hey guys, I know I'm late for the free DVD, however GSP is going to be winning his next fight as well against Carlos Condit ;) And you guys are awesome, I've learned more in your vids than I have at any BJJ school I've attended. Great work.

Here's to legends, and legends in the making.

  • i wish i could do real bjj training, but im broke all the time, even with a good job i could never aforde it, but i guess what i do now is pretty good

  • just letting u know u cant tap out in wrestling....ive been wrestling a kid before and he started tapping but the ref didnt do anything haha

  • These guys a great!

  • i fucking love rener. the guy is waaaaay too enthusiastic to have any ego. there's be a history between the gracie family and eddie bravo and rener had no problem giving a shout out. got damn i love these vids and these guy...

  • @DroppinKnowledge69 So true man. Dude no homo but come on how can you not love Rener. He is the most enthusiastic nicest person i have ever seen. Ive never met him but can truly say i know these guys are great guys.

  • @DroppinKnowledge69 he's right ^

  • @knightngunz

Because it doesn't work on everybody :-)

  • GSP!! no question!

  • in wrestling this is known as the guillotine lol

  • I dont wanna brag, but my trainer, went to naga and got first for black belts in BJJ, and when he was showing us this, he was freaking out because i wouldnt tap! he was cranking as hard as he couldnt and i felt 0 pain, can anyone explain why i dont feel any pain from my spine or neck in this submission?

  • @KnighTnGunZ i had this same issue with a bjj black belt trainer however, then next day i felt like i REALLY needed to pop my back, thank goodness he was nice to me and not crank it. maybe this is like a heel hookfor some people...no pain no pain no pain oops its broke!

  • Great video!!!!!!How can I get some more of this!!!!

  • This is the first time I have seen how this move actually works.

  • Training in Fairbanks, AK is hard. Gracie Combatives would help a great deal

Who is representing the Gracie academies in ADCC this year?

  • I love BJJ! Awesome Breakdowns

  • Awesome to see the gracies embracing 10th planet moves.

It's all one game and opening your mind allows you to open your game.

    YOU KNOW HOW 10 DO

  • @VomitShovel

It's originally a wrestling technique. Even Eddie Bravo said that he didn't name it, the Brazilians gave it that name.

  • @munnymike Obviously. Eddie has said this many times and it's an oldschool wrestling move. However in Jiu Jitsu - 10th Planet is the 1st widely recognized system to use the twister to submit.

  • @VomitShovel

That's a lot like saying Royce Gracie is the best jiu jitsu practitioner. Popularizing something deserves some level of respect, but you said " the gracies embracing 10th planet moves" so it sounds like you're claiming 10th planet created the technique.

  • @VomitShovel In case you didn't know, this move has been used in high school and college wrestling to produce a pin for at least 40 years.

  • @MrMZaccone I did know :) I train 10th Planet every day so it's bound to come up. Eddie leads with that when explaining his adaptation of it into Jiu Jitsu as a spine/neck crank.

  • @VomitShovel The Gracies have always brought the best stuff into their system. I think the only reason they haven't embraced more of the 10th planet system is its reliance on flexibility and other attributes that a limited number of people have. It's great stuff but I'm 50 years old, I'm fairly sure I'm not going to be playing rubber guard any time soon.

  • @MrMZaccone Very true. At Riverside 10th PJJ they won't teach rubber guard/flexibility or any specific body-type moves in everyday class, it's a class of it's own. They promote a strong base and use Gracies as perfect examples. Training at 50? That's truly impressive!

  • @VomitShovel I didn't know Eddie explains that when he teaches... thank you for posting that because it helps me understand that (once again) it's the media and lazy public that gets it wrong, sensationalizing it as a BJJ move and Bravo's. I should have known. By the way, it's at least 2200 years old, not just "at least 40" haha. At least he was trying.

  • @VomitShovel Any ADCC champs?

  • @VomitShovel Embracing 10th planet? Eddie did not invent the twister, it is an old wrestling move.
