We already have a group mentality. Is called Republican and Democrats, White and Black, Liberal and Conservative...for some weird reason it is this sides that dictates public policy. For eg. In a school, there are 50 kids, 10 are A students, 10 are D's and F's. The rest are in the middle. America is a nation in the middle, yet the extremes dictate policy.
it brings tears to my eyes when he speaks and for him not making it very far, i think we should write him in, i believe in this guy is the best person for the job..and this is coming from someone who is black.
Any statement that starts with All Whites this * and All Blacks that * is not an intelligent comment. "Racists believe that all individuals who share superficial physical characteristics are alike: as collectivists, racists think only in terms of groups. By encouraging Americans to adopt a group mentality, the advocates of so-called "diversity" actually perpetuate racism. Their obsession with racial group identity is inherently racist." --Ron Paul
Wait a second, you just assumed that black people are somehow right. I believe that race isn't a big deal to white people where it is to black people. I don't think they necessarily have to agree on the significance of race. Isn't the significance of race just something that we hold as a personal belief? There's no clear cut answer to the significance. It's different for everyone.
The fact that the bulk of the Republican party did not show up for this debate...speaks for it self. I love how Tavis Smiley handled the debate!...BTW, if this country does decide to choose a Republican president, hopefully it would be Ron Paul. He appears to be the only Republican candidate who would be suitable for America '08. The rest of the candidates are not current with the times, to me.
This was the greatest debate ever held. It was FAIR my god, what a concept. A FAIR DEBATE.. who would have thought such a thing existed anymore. Im amazed more people in the audience dont stand up and shout when witnessing the horrible debates the other biased networks do. Its a mockery of equality and democracy. People should be outraged. PBS was outstanding and beacon for how it should be.
The history of the black people in the USA is of the whites proclaiming great overarching ideals and then betraying them in every dealing with blacks. Blacks weren't even aware of this until Martin Luther King Jr. and the civil rights movement came along.
And now here's another white guy with another overarching ideal. Is it too much for black people to ask that he present some concrete, immediate benefits before they give him their trust?
Racism is simply an ugly form of collectivism, the mindset that views humans strictly as members of groups rather than individuals. Racists believe that all individuals who share superficial physical characteristics are alike: as collectivists, racists think only in terms of groups. By encouraging Americans to adopt a group mentality, the advocates of so-called "diversity" actually perpetuate racism. Their obsession with racial group identity is inherently racist." --Ron Paul

Interesting. It would seem that Ron Paul doesn't know how to speak to the black community in a meaningful way. He's great on his particular theoretical message, but he falters when asked to retool it to a different audience - an audience not as easily impressed by ideology as by direct action.
you shouldn't 'retool' your message to specific audiences to convince them to vote for you. ron paul is the only candidate who doesn't bend on his issues depending on who he speaks to.
Exactly. The point is that we need to stop being small minded when it comes to this thinking about ourselves in small socio-economic groups or ethnic groups/races. We need to realize as AMERICANS that freedom will restore our nation to the betterment of ALL citizens.
Let me be clearer. He doesn't have answers for these people. He has an ideology which he thinks will generally apply, but he has no idea of how to apply it to them - you know, actual applied government.
So...Ron Paul needs to be more intelligent? now you're just not making any sense. Americans have been dumbed down by the media and never educated on the things they don't want you to know about, like finances. So maybe you need to wake up to the fact because it sounds like you're on the dumb side.
Er, Ron Paul wasn't the one saying that "the people need to become more intelligent" in the previous comment, now was he? No. I was talking about you. Turning the burden of leadership back on those who confer it isn't an answer - it's a copout. You want to lead a liberal democracy that kept slaves for hundreds of years? You're going to have to face a few hard realities and consequences.
Yeah i agree with kamason86 but my question is, why didn't the 4 leading republican candidates show up in front of a black audience...i mean they're leading right? Maybe your theory leans more on the other guys not showing up in the first place. Although i have to say i don't know why they didn't show up...

Yes! We should make Mexicans fight as hard for rights as the blacks did! I won't respect Hispanics until one of their churches is burned down with the congregation inside!
Why so much whining about little rock school? All it did was destroy the schools so that most whites send their kids to private schools or in our case home school them.
