I loved the original Rastan. I didn't get to play this until about ten years ago. I think it sucks compared to 1 but it's not terrible. Definitely a quarter muncher though!
Well, I don't mean the music is horrible in that it's bad music; what I meant was, that based on Rastan's success, this music isn't right for it. It's more of a marketing failure than a bad video game.
The use of the shield, is an innovation in game design.
And it seems, for Rastan, they looked to Greek myths. This game, it's Indian myths.
As a kid, the voiceovers used 2 creep me out on this game! I always wanted 2 know what they were saying, like when u get powerups for example: 5:31 sounds like she says DAMN YOU COREEAL!
i think arcade games were designed to eat up as many quarters as possible, with no way to win except dying thousands of times. i remember one night one of my idiot friends stole money from my dad and told me it was his own. we spent about $100 in quarters to beat the ninja turtles 4-player game
I think you're absolutely right. Computer games and console games have become much easier now that there's no impetus to process a player in 5 minutes so the next guy can drop a quarter in.
I started to enjoy the game more after I got used to the little quirks in the game play. But going from the incredible Rastan I to this just left me wondering what the heck happened here?
well coming from that I can see this being a pretty bad game but if you havent played that and only this this game is pretty good when i was younger i was into horror and things like that so this was right up my alley with this original enemys.
Man this looks like it was a pretty difficult game with very little balance in its game-play. But you pulled it off and we finally get to see the ending to this game. Of course, there isn't much of an ending except with the closing credits that is.
I think they borrowed the "elephant noisse" for Street Fighter II Dhalsim stage

Because it's not Rastan II. The players expected a good sequel; with Rastan, not this short-haired guy. And the music is horrible.
I must say, the graphics are a lot better.

I actually fairly enjoyed the music. It was a big part of my childhood as my dad had the cabinet version of this.

At least it had awesome music.

Anyone noticed the elephant sound at 0:41? That was the same sound they used for the elephants for Dhalsim's theme from Street Fighter II!

Damn, dude. This game's controls seem sluggish to the point of cruelty, and I'm just watching. XD
Really makes me appreciate the degree of finesse (and fast-paced action) my favourite Taito sidescroller Thunder Fox allows.
