Neither of the IAFs UAVs are made to strike anywhere, please don't give away false infos if you are not sure. The IAF UAVs are mainly used for intel gathering which is an essential task before any strike, the actual strike is conducted by separate dedicated aircrafts assigned for the job.

JF-17 is a chinese development . . and the Chengdu FC-1 (JF-17) airframe is not as good as the F16 . . . . . the best airplane in the PAk inventory is the F-16 ( minus the american avionics and warfare suite) . . . everything that the Chinese build is bad and is reverse engineered from russian tech . . . i wouldnt consider the JF-17 to be better than the Mig 29 . . .

Anyways, IAF signed an induction of 124 LCAs and another 166 for 2012.
16 LCAs are already being used in the Chennai Fighter-Jet Training facility since 5 months now.
The only thing that did not work and delayed LCA is the engine. When IAF gave the specs for LCA, they asked for a 4th gen plane. But, later they changed their mind and wanted 4.5 gen plane with supercruise ability. This cannot be achieved on Kaveri engine which was designed for previous specs. So, HAL and SNECMA to add supercruise capability to the engine before using it in LCA MK2.

Neither of the IAFs UAVs are made to strike anywhere, please don't give away false infos if you are not sure. The IAF UAVs are mainly used for intel gathering which is an essential task before any strike, the actual strike is conducted by separate dedicated aircrafts assigned for the job.

JF-17 is a chinese development . . and the Chengdu FC-1 (JF-17) airframe is not as good as the F16 . . . . . the best airplane in the PAk inventory is the F-16 ( minus the american avionics and warfare suite) . . . everything that the Chinese build is bad and is reverse engineered from russian tech . . . i wouldnt consider the JF-17 to be better than the Mig 29 . . .

@srsairbags The JF-17 overall is a better airplane than the F-16. And it is not Chinese developed, it was a join development by Pakistan and China, something India had never been able to succeed at. Both of these aircraft are 4th Generation and Jf-17 is superior when compared to the 29. All that the Indians ever buy are ex Russian planes. They cannot develop anything on their own.

Anyways, IAF signed an induction of 124 LCAs and another 166 for 2012.
16 LCAs are already being used in the Chennai Fighter-Jet Training facility since 5 months now.
So, how is it a fail?

The only thing that did not work and delayed LCA is the engine. When IAF gave the specs for LCA, they asked for a 4th gen plane. But, later they changed their mind and wanted 4.5 gen plane with supercruise ability. This cannot be achieved on Kaveri engine which was designed for previous specs. So, HAL and SNECMA to add supercruise capability to the engine before using it in LCA MK2.
For now, LCA has an imported GE F-404 Engine.
So, the plane was delayed but not a failure.

I agree in feeling proud about having lots of UAV.
But it is a shame that we are importing most of them at exorbidant prices.
International defence trade is expensive particularly to third world countries.
In this respect compared to India China and even Pakistan is far ahead of us in indegeneous development. We must learn from them.... pak may be our arch rival but internationally the developed world treats us both the same - like dogs.

Most of is not even Indian. When Pakistan was offered plans on constructing deadly drones India was pleading to the States not to do it. Besisdes Pakistan is more for peace, we can attack and protect but we have been focusing more on keeping our people alive on their own. Your economy is worse that our and so is the status ur ppl. before you showoff your destructive technology, try to do something constructive first: like cleaning up the country, giving food and clothing and proper sanitation to the 100s of millions of dirty, stinky beggars. clean up the roads, follow traffic rules (indicator, changing lanes, not overriding divider lines)....discipline and sanitation should come first, my indian retard friend!

And why are we comparing IAF to PAF or any aspect of india to pakistan. There's no comparison, no match. Top 5 muslim countries which are friendly to PAK together don't have the military,economic or scholarly strength of india. (source WIKIPEDIA). India already has a situation on its borders where terrorists are trying to intrude. How is that India has not put in place an automated border management system that can detect and send in these remote aircrafts to eliminate these threats? I mean you can have cameras and sensors on the border fences and signs saying border patrolled by UAVs and then if someone tries to sneak in, rain some super fire power on them. I think India needs to manage its borders in a high tech way.
