The closest I ever came to have an outer body experience, to acknowledging the possibility of there being a higher power, was when I saw them perform this song on the Endless Wire tour
@Fredrockroll I watched a video of him on PBS of all places and he showed how he would pluck the string at different locations on the body to get hard or soft sounds and he would vary the parts of his fingers he would use to hit the string to get different tones. He definitely had a style all his own, you can always tell it's him on Bass.

Un..(*&^ believable...In my 53 years I saw most, if not all the great ones. Show this to anyone to and let them see the greatest live band of the time. Sorry Zep fans, I love them too but they couldn't touch the Who live. Dueing the 69-77 era, hold up a pair of Stones, Zep, or Who tix and offer me to choose a pair and it will always be the Who everytime. They always had the most incredible sense of pacing and build up...
@ArtVandelay421 That's right folks, I saw all of the above, plus being older than Art here, also saw Hendrix, the Doors, Cream, Airplane, Sly and Family, the Allman's with Duane, all of who were fantastic, but in concert the Who were always the best of the best.
@marinman39 - Ah a kindered soul. The Who were untouchable live...saw the famous 4 (? or was it 3) night stand at the Music Hall, Boston. Closest thing to a musical orgasm...You could not take your eyes off them. Another thing about the Who, they always respected their fans...Always loved the interaction with Keith and Pete..Sorry Zep fans...(me being one..) The Who were a must see.
@ArtVandelay421 The Who was THE best live band in the 1970s, especially 70-76. LZ is a close second (the 71, 72, 73 and 75 tours). Rounding out the Top 5 live acts of the 1970s rock scene: Zappa (1971 to 1979), Yes (72, 77 and 78), and of course, the Stones(72, 75, and 78).
@ArtVandelay421 ... That's why the Stones didnt release rock n roll circus.. The Who blew them, and everyone else away.. I love Stones, Kinks, Cream but no one held a candle to these guys during this period.. Nevertheless, this was the pinnacle of rock music !!!
@batosai370 numbers or not...you really cant ignore the obvious true....i really prefer bands like Televison than a really mediocre Late 70s who album
@garrybod Yeah, mine too. And the sound switches between a crowd/hall mic and the stage mix. Nowhere near this quality. God, I wish they would release this properly mixed and mastered.
The only thing that could top this would be footage from Woodstock of Pete whacking that asshole hippie Abby Hoffman upside the head with his guitar when he jumped onstage during their set to rant about something.
@thebigguyconnor He normally comes more aggressively around the 0:38 mark, but I'm pretty sure he was just intentionally playing it a little more subtly at this show.
