  • Was the "Sam Kinison" guy actually Van Morrison? It would make sense, since they played shows with him...

  • @mattkrause1979 I always thought it was Meat Loaf.

  • @d4rkt0w3r5 This was taken from a movie called True Stories, which John Goodman had the lead in and which was directed by David Byrne. It's great and totally off the wall, and more than worth checking out if you like Talking Heads.

  • Byrne . Mr. Wild LIfe

  • Thanks for posting this video! It is another great one from David Byrne and Talking Heads! Loved the video when it came out. Had to have the CD!

  • Well thanks for posting, wish it was a little better resolution, but then again that's probably why YouTube hasn't pulled the audio on this clip as well as the others. Add that to my collection anyway ... there. Thanks Download Helper :-)

  • "Hey Coach.. I can't get My helmet on.. " Whap... "Thanks Coach... "

    Coooool Runnnnings!

  • I loved Talking Heads..they were a unique band with some great music.

  • YES!

  • I bought some wiiild wild rice.

  • Yeah! I used to love this video when i was a kid!:)

  • The drumming sounds just like the same as Th' Dudes Bliss song.

  • Is it just me or does Sheldon Cooper on "Big Bang Theory" kind of look like David Byrne?

  • John Goodman!!!!

  • W1:29 is that John Goodman and didn't Weird AL make a style parody on this with U.H.F.?

  • @a1legmorshu Yes, that was a young John Goodman before Rosanne. Also Sam Kinison which I had forgotten.

  • when music was fucking music not this rap american idol shit!!

  • I watched a LOT of video during the 80's and this was one of the best of them. Without a doubt. Great band.

  • Music Movies Zookeeper :p !!!!

  • Pure genius in retrospect. I was 18 and a hard rocker when this came out and I hated it.....then. Now, it's pure sweet memories.

  • napolean dynamite would be proud

    *starts clapping slowly*

  • Who can name all the parodies? Billy Idol, Prince & Vanity, Meat Loaf, Cab Calloway, Susanna Hoffs. . .

  • Inspired nonsense; nothing better

  • Susanna Hoffs sings back-up on this

  • Comment removed

  • John Goodman pre-Roseanne and Raising Arizona lip synching to a Talking Heads song? Is there anything more awesome? Truly?

  • love the clip ofc, but as it's a piece of cake and it's pure perfection.

reminds me of daft punk's around the world* kinda.. naaaah mebbeh not

  • Has to be one of the best music videos ever.

  • I saw True Stories last night ..that movie is essentially David Byrne jacking off for 90 minutes and I loved it ...a liberal dose of Tom Arnold was thrown in for good measure

  • This song is about druggy drug drugs.

  • One of the best videos of the 80s about the 80s.

  • Thiss song always makes me feel better. But you have to watch the music video with it, or it's doesn't have the same effect. :)

  • One of the best videos of all time.

  • The beginning sounds like Rolling Stones - Shattered

  • I'm wearin fur pajamas! Wow........Is that Tito at 2:01-2:11 from Tito and Tarantula???

  • @korney69 Sure is,he played Roman in the movie "True Stories"which this song is from, good movie too.

  • Back when they used to know how to make videos...

  • Holy crap was that John Goodman! The Man is such a bad-ass!

  • yyyes

  • Brilliant guitars in this song. I have always loved it. Too bad the kids nowadays don't know of it. Maybe it needs to be used in a movie or something. lol.

  • I'm almost 100% sure this song is is about coke, so...we're gonna put it in a kid's movie? Why the hell not?

  • @Angryneck: Not about cocaine and not a "kid's movie." Next contestant.

  • BTW....True Stories is on Encore free on demand....as we speak....check it out,if you haven't seen it yet...or watch it again if you have.... :-) PS different people from this one,are in the movie's version...

  • THUMBS UP IF THE ZOOKEEPER BROUGHT YOU HERE

  • I always liked Talking Heads, but I have never purchased any of their albums (I don't know why), but I do have Oingo Boingo.

They always reminded me of the other band. Oh Well, I guess i was too busy listening to Candy-O "The Cars". Rock On!

  • @JesusFreakJene TOTALLY AGREE WILD WILD LIFE IS BEST VIDEO EVER!!!!

  • @talligalli While the concert film 'Stop Making Sense' is their peak, the video for "Wild Wild Life" is certainly their best music video (sorry "Once in a Lifetime"!!)

  • I've always thought John Goodman was so handsome in this movie!

  • 40 people have no idea why John Goodman is in the video.

  • i always thought he said "fuckin pro" at 2:09 but he says thought control haha

  • @lavasmokechile and @BlackMambakins this song was from a movie that David Byrne wrote and directed in 1986 in which John Goodman co-starred and played someone Byrne met while visiting Texas. Goodman's character was in search of someone to marry so they went to this club where patrons get up and sing parts of songs in an attempt to woo the opposite sex. The video was that sequence from the movie. The movie was called "True Stories."

  • i used this song on my part of my wedding video showing slide show pics of my life. although not wild at all still a pretty good feel good song that no one uses for these type of things

  • I love this video, but you have to admit that it was probably "super" cheap to put together . . . if you're David Byrne of the Talking Heads! If I asked John Goodman to be in one of my videos, it would set me back a pretty penny!

  • @lavasmokechile in those days it was who the heck is john goodman so ya know tv time is tv time and they probably paid him shite but look where he is now...

  • JOHN GOODMAN RULES!!!

  • Tito Larriva rocks! :)

  • awesome video

  • This song is so clearly about cocaine abuse in the early 80's. Just replace Wild Wild Life with Coke Coke Coke. If you do Coke you're in for a wild wild life. Still a damn good song though.

  • great song great band

  • The cameos of the Heads playing other musicians on stage are hilarious!

  • that was john, man he looked young.

  • I hope this one's up for a while. This is the third time in two months that I've saved this video to my playlist, they keep getting removed. Somebody has it out for the talking heads..

  • I really liked their movie all about Texas. I only saw it once, but I remember D.Byrne going into the Texas Instruments facility, back when electronics were still made in USA.

  • checkin in ah checkin out ah-hah!

  • True Stories is on as I type this. One of my favorite 80s songs.

  • 39 person don't have a wild wild life.

  • i love Talking Heads, they will never no any wrong with me

  • I wish David Byrne would just swallow his pride and do a reunion already. They are all still alive, so he should just get out there with them and do it with them.

  • 2:05 that is the lead singer for the band in the movie "From Dusk till Dawn"

  • I see a lot of David Lee Roth (ish) Production ala...."Just a Gigolo in this. lol But still brings back alot of memories. Like!!! lol

  • Oh man, this video is amazing. Anyone who was around during this 'era' should be able to identify the characters in this rock-and-roll parody of the best kind. Timeless song, timeless era. Wild, wild life....

  • Love this one.

  • Watch the movie True Stories it's where the video comes from

  • So other than the band, who goes up to the mic? I did see John Goodman, but who were the other featured cameos?

  • I sure could use a couple of those volcano burritos HEY any of you bitches going by taco bell? >_<

  • That heavy chick in the beginning sure has some good moves.......Kudos to the gal in the red dress at 1:17 and yeah,,,that karate kid looking dude does look familiar - I so remember this song on the radio cruising around LA late at night in the 80's.....How bout the cowboy,,,looks all nerdy til he puts that hat on and instantly becomes kkkoolllll..............Gee I miss the 80's

  • Love, love, love this song and video!!!

  • Great rocker by the Talking Heads!

  • @jrzgirl56 Yep, a young john goodman

  • @jrzgirl56 this is in a movie true stories, directed by david byrne...hes in it :)

  • @jrzgirl56 Yep, thats John Goodman. This is from the movie "True Stories," which, if you're into anti-capitalist, anti-corporate, weird movies, is excellent and one of my favorite movies ever

  • @justanotherdeadhead

Agreed! I didn't get into them until just now and I'm 25. The "Stop Making Sense" DVD is amazing. I love the live version of Naive Melody on that one. Such an infectious song because it gets stuck in your head (which is a GREAT thing :D )

  • Did anyone know that this song was in ''Open Season'' the Movie?

  • i agree the fat girl in the beginning also turns me on! very hot in that yellow outfit!!

  • one of the songs in 80 that symbolized the great talent and music of that epoch. Both song and video which its brilliant

  • Jerrry Harrison Plays more "characters" in this vid than i had realized. He is even the Prince wanna be!! Also the kung fu guy, the billy idol guy, the cab calloway man. Dang.

  • @frenkmelk My question is who did the meatloaf bit it honestly looks like meatloaf.

  • @1970SuperBird100 I think it's Sam Kinison. But sometimes he looks alittle like Neal Young too.

  • The fat girl in the beginning turns ne on!

  • Yes, John Goodman at 1:15 - this video is from the movie "True Stories"; John Goodman was one of the stars.

  • @mcmclopez66 David Byrne directed and starred in it as well.

  • Is that John Goodman at 1:15?

  • Talking Heads were way ahead of their time

  • spending all of my money and time uuuuhoooo, took too much wild wild life ....best song ever .

  • Only song by Talking Heads that's worth a damn!

  • @sleeplessinKY You obviously haven't listened to much of their music -- It's that or you just have shitty taste -- Your loss, either way...

  • Here's some trivia. Who is the guy in the orange suit. Hint: moved on to do movies and at least one hit television show with Tom Arnold's x-wife. Ok, now you have to guess it.

  • this isn't the version from true stories but is just as good,

the radio reception is great here

  • All hail John Goodman!!!

  • Thom Yorke said that his band Radiohead got their name from this song.

    Actual fact.

Ironically, David Byrne doesn't really like their band.

  • @Numinous123 actually "Radio Head" is another song on the album "True Stories". So it has nothing to do with this song.

  • @kingmike3000

I meant to say "Radio-head". I always get the names "Wild, Wild life" and "Radio-Head" mixed up.

You win the prize... wait, there isn't one. Oh well.
