  • This band takes me back to my, buying a lid and jamming in the basement.

  • Cool ! kinda HendrixO !

  • NIce indeed!!....*****

  • Note to mikeypoo76:

YOW! So you, too, were of the same opinion...until a *very reliable source* informed ya otherwise!

Musta been the musical arrangements having been done on the part of Tom Baird. Kinda LOL!

  • "You tell me about the freedom we won...well, TELL IT TO THE MAN WITH THE GUN!"

  • Note to mikeypoo76:

Well......the Tom Baird part was correct, though, wasn't it?

By the way, the info that *I* received in re: Band Personnel came from a fan in Leytonstone, London...soooooooooooo, that misinformation is on his head, now, isn't it?

Thanx fer clarifying that info, though, m8..

  • Hey no problem :)

I used to think it was Ray & Mark too. That was until I ment Ray and complimented him on his guitar work in the song. He said " Well thank you but that wasn't me, it was Rod Richards". Ray is one hell of a nice guy.

Ray & Mark came in the band almost at the same time...Mark shortly before Ray. Mark and Ray had played in the Detroit cast of Hair by the way. They made their debut on the One World LP.

  • because this group is white most people would call them a rock band , but to me it's funk, funk funkyfunk. play that funky music whiteboyyysss!!!!!.

  • This 1970 flip side of "Born To Wander" was the 1st appearance of Guitarist Ray Monette & Keyboardist Mark Olson as Rare Earth members, before their LP debut on "One World".

By the way, this hard rocking ditty was written/produced by Tom Baird, who also did "My Baby (My Baby, My Own)" for Diana Ross; "So This Is Love" for Bobby Taylor & Vancouvers; amongst others.

  • Thanks for the info!

  • That is not correct. I know Ray personally and aksed him about this. The guitarist is Rod Richards and and Kenny James is on organ. The style of playing is very different from Ray Monette.

  • man i remember having that 45...good post
