Well, a passenger airline like that is usually traveling in excess of 100 miles per hour. At the most, the "victim" was doing 25, maybe 30 miles per hour. So he was basically doing the equivalent of accelerating from 0 to about 75 or 80 almost instantly. He wasn't harnessed to his kite; he was just holding on. If there was a harness, it was a thin one, and would have snapped. If he was just holding on, no human is strong enough to pull through that acceleration. His arms would be gone.
