Its not a 1.6, not a 1.8 nor a 1.8 BPT. This engine has the newer 2.0 naturally aspirated Mazda 6 engine with a huge turbo plus standalone system. I have was lucky enough to see pictures of the engine bay in another forum, its 100% from the regular Mazda 6. It has been a proven combo, the engine is slow when not turbo, but with one its like one was meant for the other.

i think it has a BP or BPT (stock with turbo) which is a 1.8L DOHC I4 with a huge turbo. i seen these put down 600+WHP. i dont know what all that car has. but he is puting down some power

It could be a 1.8 JDM twin cam engine or a 2 liter but I think it was the 1.8 because it is more common on these cars, or at least here.
