Marvin and Wendy had Wonder Dog on Super Friends. Zan and Jayna the Wonder Twins from Super Friends Cartoons always had a monkey. So why do these look more like Marvin and Wendy than Zan and Jayna guess because writers never both to look at the original.

I really don't like the way they did the twins in this show. I haven't had a problem with other super heroes in Smallville... just the twins. They seem poorly done, badly acted, and just kind of thrown into the show like no one took the time to properly write them in and the actors had no real motivation. I just couldn't take their characters seriously. I love every other character but these two. Sucks that one of my favorite TV actresses was cast as her. Bummer. :(

"The Blur" is what the public calls Clark since no one has actually ever seen him, except his blur when he speeds away after a rescue. In terms of the show, its basically used since they can't exactly call him 'Superman'.

Now that's really stupid keeping in mind that Clark uses the big S. I heard Tom Welling accorded to do Smallville only if the word "Superman" wasn't said, because he would suffer the Superman curse and would only be remembered as Superman and not as Tom Welling.

No offense, but that is one of the dumbest things i've ever heard. I've followed SV since season 1 and NEVER has Tom Welling or stories of such ever been rumored or mentioned in the past 10 years. He's not called Superman because in regards of the show, technically he's not 'Superman' yet. He can't fly and he doesn't wear a cape or the colors. The Blur and and the suit he wears now is explained as his 'training suit'. The producers have stated that he wont be Superman til' the show ends.

Well yeah, that rumor may be stupid as hell, but the fact that Superman, which is known for flying, hasn't flied in this damn 10 years, and Supergirl, which is quite less powerful, has flied, is even more stupid. It is also stupid that he's wearing the big S in the chest for nothing, and nobody wonders why he wears it if he isn't Superman yet. If you have kriptonian powers, does it take 10 damn years to fly? why do they keep on avoiding it? Superman without flying is like a tiger without stripes

The premise of Smallville from the very beginning is about the journey to become Superman, once he finally puts on the suit and flies, THE SHOWS OVER. Thats why they're 'avoiding' it. The 'S' as established in the Chris Reeve movies, is his family crest/symbol. Its Lois who eventually notices the 'S' in the shield and gives him the name of "Superman". Him wearing it on the show is to honor his kryptonian heritage and is no different than an athlete wearing the colors of his country.

Every Kryptonian family has a symbol that represents their bloodline. Some have shapes, some have dots, some are other letters. In the case of Superman, his family crest just happens to have the letter 'S'. The first time he rescues Lois, I don't believe he has a name. However Lois notices the symbol and basically gives him the name 'Superman' for the newspaper headline. And technically, Clark 'can' fly, he did once in the show and has been training this season. He simply hasn't refined it.

Well in the Chris Reeve movies Clark spent 12 years training in the Fortress of Solitude. They kinda glossed over it though...they showed Clark as a teenager then 5 minutes later they show Chris Reeve in the suit flying out of the fortress. But yes, Clark did have to train to refine his powers, it just wasn't explicity shown in the original films. And even in the comics that re-tell his origin they show how he learns and develops his powers as a teenager.

The Superboy would be correct if you're not going with the current Superboy. The current one is Lex Luther's DNA combined with the DNA of Superman so it's an entirely different person and has limited abilities.

I don't think he meant 'Superboy' as literally the character in the comics. I think he meant it in the sense that he's still a Super-BOY and has yet to become Superman. He wasn't referring to the current character, I think he meant it in a figurative sense.

im actually hapy the way they done it. never really liked the original Superboy comics (with Clark) cause people didn't know him till he was superman. I am ready to see him fly but glad that they let him develop his power 1 by 1. Plus i bet if they did smallville as superboy the rates would be awful. Go Smallville.

Interestingly, though it would make more sense namewise to be the other way around, Kara apparently becomes Supergirl before Clark becomes Superman, and drags the superhero world kicking and screaming into the limelight as opposed to hiding in the shadows. BTW, who else is sad that they are apparently still leaving the stupid briefs on his Red-and-Blue outfit (since they just used the Superman Returns costume, a good one but still briefed).

Ummmm.... have you even heard of the original show? The first version of Superman couldn't fly. Period. And that was adult Superman, not even just got out of college Superman. So give him a break, willya? Personally, I think there's some great things you could do with a Superman remake movie set in a more realistic universe with a Superman that can't fly. Period.
