I personally feel that the "monotony" actually adds to the charm of the song; from my perspective, it results in a casual feeling that I find serene. If the artist chooses to have it sung this way, then that's good enough for me. I'll just find things to love about this song, and carry on. I understand that there are elements in the song that some people might want to change, but from where I'm sitting, it's charming as it is. Peace!<3

Lastly is the monotonic voice, it doesn't sing the lyrics at all but rather reading them out. There's no emotion in the voice that correspond to the text.

@Chiisana00 firstly, the lyric itself has a sad and lonely emotion in it, so I think it's just alright if topi sang it with monotonic voice. and I think your critics here don't work with japanese (they don't want to read english idkw), so why bother to try "orz

@sayakachan95 I know very well the Japanese don't read it here. It was also meant for people who listen to this song to have something to think about. Some extra knowledge/theory is never a bad thing to grumble over.

It's my opinion that the monotonic voice wasn't the greatest choice of expressing the song. If it's supposed to be a sad song, then make it sadder, express it better and reinforce it. That is what it takes for everything to stand out from the crowd.

@earthwielder I think the "today's popular songs" you mentioned here must be those on the chart, and honestly they're pretty much just club music which doesn't require much. However take Adele for example, she's a good artist and does show emotions through her singing voice to express the song.

What immediately struck me hard was that everything is repetitive, especially lyrics and arrangement, which made it rather annoying to listen to already at 1:30.
