  • Where is the picture at 0:32 & 1:37 from, Mt Athos? Macedonia? Just wow!

  • @andrewnorris2... the Metéora* UNESCO World Heritage Site (Thessaly, GREECE) You'll find further pictures on the site 'LIST' under Greece. Astonishing place. I confess, yet to visit.

  • This is fantastic Fred. Thank you. Best wishes, Catalina

  • @TheCatalinalira..... Pleased you enjoyed it. F

  • Very interesting....I can hardly understand how anything works....!

  • @Poemsapennyeach Me neither but dreams seem to give us a little bit of a clue - from time to time!

  • I have that 'pome' on my notice board in the office. A lot of young Englishmen do not understand the debt we owe the many thousands of Gunga Dins of this world. I long for the day that I hear Nick Griffin say 'you are a better man than I am, Gunga Din!'

  • @harryfaber Right. And most of the Cabinet and what Will Self called the 'donkeys' that attend all the Party Conferences.

  • Kipling might have said 'avoid the grog sellers uts' for a day like today, and told the young British soldier to keep his hat on.

  • @harryfaber Lot to be said for water!

    "'E lifted up my 'ead,

An' 'e plugged me where I bled,

    An' 'e guv me 'arf-a-pint o' water—green;

It was crawlin' an' it stunk,

But of all the drinks I've drunk,

I'm gratefullest to one from Gunga Din."

  • @harryfaber Snap!

  • My self lubricating shutters are very heavy this morning, but the DPU is working fine. Your auditory input was registered and filed.

  • @harryfaber Thanks....not suprising. I wonder if was any where near thirty were you are!

  • @Caspar33 Sadly, I am long past 30, but le temps fait chaud!

I skipped out of Angleterre yesterday, to avoid the heat, which may explain why I am knackered this morning.

It was very hot in northern France yesterday, today, here in Essex, the mercury is rising steadily.

I repeated a line of (non Kipling) earlier:

'When you're somewhere's east of Suez, and the best is like the worst, an there ain't no ten commandments, and a man can raise a thirst'.

  • This is fantastic Fred. Really impressed with the flow of the stanzas and the syntax. The flow and energy is super. I would love to collaborate with you someday.

  • @ThomasSheridanArts Delighted you liked. All the best. Who knows, something will come along.
