Spring 1975. Taking Driver's Ed in 10th grade. Going out with the driving instructor (Coach Willenborg) with two other students, driving to Decatur, Illinois and this was on the radio. Wonderful time. Sadly, this was their last Top 5 single. . .but what a way to go!!
This is SO neat - I love how you just put the single on the turntable, started the record and stepped away. This is the very first Carpenters record I purchased, though of course it had the classic silhouette logo on the sleeve. Still my favorite band among hundreds I like and love, and this is my all-time favorite song. Thanks so much!
Thank you sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much for this, I have'nt heard so many of these songs in a looooooooooooooooong time lol xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxox.
Poor RIchard has remastered these songs far too much. I much prefer this mastering. Horizon, from which this came, I think was their high watermark sonically, as the recording technology finally caught up with their abilities. Perfection!
I'm in tears. the thumb, the details of the label. The other 45. Then with those beautiful hands you place the 45, place the needle, then put the other copy next to it. I love the song so much! You're awesome!

My big Sister Louise always listened to the Carpenters,
and she I think in a lot of her songs sounds like her too.
I thank her for all these great songs that were introduced
in my house as a kid.
This song is one of their best songs.....happy tears come every
time I hear this....:)

Never could get New York AM stations down here. I DID stay in Manhattan for 3 months in 1986. Christmas!

So tough to find a high grade copy of any Carpenter hit since all were played to death.
