Judging simply from the general appearance of this woman, with respect to age, health, etc, if she tried to rely TOTALLY on the free market for her health coverage rather than the "socialist" Medicare system she relies upon, wouldn't it probably cost her about $1500-$2000 per month or $18,000-$24,000 per year? Would she be even able to obtain health coverage from a private insurer at her age? I know somebody who is 34 years old and cannot obtain private coverage due to a "preexisting condition"

a) A bill which will give vouchers to the poor so they can buy from the Insurance Companies.This is highly supported by the insurance-company controlled GOP & will result in MORE TAXES & HIGHER INSURANCE COSTS as no competition.
b) A Public Option which would result in lower insurance costs for everyone.
The 1st will pass & so please don't say GOP will result in less tax - it will be more tax dollars to pay off Ins Companies.

The opposite can be said about a Democrat supporting Obama's plan.
What it amounts to is give me the details.
What will be covered, what will be my deductibles, how will we supplement this, and now the Dems want to drop the end of life counseling which previously they say didnt exist. The plan adds additional cost to our healthcare on something Obama is attempting to reduce the cost on. Obamacare is not cheap and not FREE and it will add a middle man with no guarantee of reducing costs.

Judging simply from the general appearance of this woman, with respect to age, health, etc, if she tried to rely TOTALLY on the free market for her health coverage rather than the "socialist" Medicare system she relies upon, wouldn't it probably cost her about $1500-$2000 per month or $18,000-$24,000 per year? Would she be even able to obtain health coverage from a private insurer at her age? I know somebody who is 34 years old and cannot obtain private coverage due to a "preexisting condition"

we can only be sure of death & taxes. the Death thing we can't do anything about but taxes we can debate. if she had to lose weight or loose money it would give her an incentive to give up that second helping. there is a guy running for senator (Rand Paul) that has a good idea on the getting old thing. make health insurance like life insurance where you pay a set price on a long term policy. this way it wont go up if you get sick &they can't drop you as long as you maintain the policy......

His son that lives in kentucky I believe, & you should support a person/politician for their policies not their party. the 2 party system makes it impossible to run as an Independent. even the democrat party is made up of different sub parties.

Will never vote for a conservative who thinks that religion should be part of his policies. Ron Paul is a social conservative who thinks that women should not have rights over their bodies because of his religious views.
But I agree that the two party system sucks.

Actually Ron Paul believes it's not a federal issue. It's not a power given to the federal Government by the constitution therefore it's an Issue for the states. don't go by someone's opinion of a politicians policies, it's easy enough to look it up yourself.

I am well aware of his state policies. Funny how Ron Paul ignores the fact that it was the federal government that needed to enforce civil rights for ALL minorities because certain states would not.

I must of missed that one. I heard him talk about the civil war before. in his words (but paraphrasing) the civil war was about succession & not about freeing slaves, if it were about freeing slaves the north could have bought all the slaves & set them free cheaper than the cost of the war & without spilling any blood.

The women in my family would never consider abortion. They would reduce me to ashes if I ever suggested abortion to any of them. They are a cut above the women who think nothing of having an abortion.

Ron Paul also doesn't believe in Evolution. And, he's against Social Security, Medicaid, aid to needy countries....He wants to abolish the CIA, the Federal Reserve, the IRS, the Dept of Education, the FDA..He voted against sending aid to Katrina victims, saying, "Why do people in Arizona have to be robbed in order to support the people on the coast?"
And, he was against a congressional gold medal for Rosa Parks. He says the medal is an unconstitutional use of taxpayer money.

Yeah, your country needs a three-party system.the Democratic Party is no longer the party of progressive, liberal values....it's really a centrist party. But, I think that the majority of people who support Ron Paul just want a third-party candidate. They don't care about his views & ideology & policies & voting record.....just give me a third party candidate. Ralph Nader would make a far better third-party candidate, imo.

Ron Paul doesn't believe in Evolution. So? he's not forcing you to believe in God. he is for personal responsibility & against Government Intrusion into your life (as much as possible). BUT he understands we can't get rid of social benefits because there's too many people dependent on them. I will let you read up on the Federal Reserve, "creature from Jackal Island" is a good starting point. without the fed & taxes we wouldn't need an IRS. his viewpoints can be looked up. no room on a YT blog

Rosa Parks refusal to give up her seat on that Montgomery, Alabama bus caused a ripple effect that started the civil rights movement.

A minister by the name of Dr Martin Luther King Jr, came to Montgomery to lead the bus boycott. Until then he was largely unknown. Her act catapulted him to national prominence. So, there may have been no Dr Martin Luther King, civil rights leader, if it werent for Rosa Parks. No civil rights movement. No changes in the Voting Act. No desegregation.. Her act of defiance on that bus ignited the flame that sparked the civil rights movement, a movement that profoundly changed race relations.

But to you & to Ron Paul shes just another private citizen. And the congressional gold medal is a lavish gift that should not be bestowed on her, because the money could be spent somewhere else. Spent where? On your futile wars?? On corporate hacks?? If it was up to me, shed have more than a medal, shed have a statue next to the Lincoln Memorial. She was revered in life & she'll be revered in death, as she should be, & thats something Ron Paul & his blind followers can never take away.

ApocalypsePlough, I got the message you posted. the Issue wasn't with the Intent of the medal but with the cost to the taxpayers, he was willing to pay for the medal out of pocket but congress thought it would be better if they just passed on the $30,000 bill for it to us.

Sometimes, I worry that this country is headed toward oblivion. So much willful stupidity. Is this really where our values are? Believe everything on TV and websites?
