  • woah when i was in elementary school i did the holm roll lol

  • Im the mini version of him lmao, watch my vids :D

  • The scissor kick is sick sick sick sick sick sick sick sick sick sick.

  • 7th degree... SUPERMAN JUMP!

  • <3 <3 <3 Stefan Holm!!

  • you mother F***** :O

  • yeah i can scissor 1 10 i think thats pretty good but i can flop 1 40 and im in grade 7

  • @GreenMOnkey404 in grade 7 I went 1.60.. I never really did this sports tho I play Basketball :)

  • @GreenMOnkey404 i can do 1.35m scissor jump im also 12 turning 13 soonish

  • a man a man a man a man

  • what if he was a football player ?

  • He's really wearing those shorts. -____- Spandex please people.

Anyways, what was the height of the bar when he scissored it?

  • Is he a wizard?

  • amazing !

  • he could run away from a cop with a single jump :P

  • @chris13tian so could anyone in USA who is not obese... and by obese i mean over 200 lbs.

  • Just once in my life, I want to sneak up to the mattress when nobody is looking and "lock" the bar in place

  • no superman 7th degree??? :(

  • song name plz?!

  • @imremylla The Soi - Freedom

  • He got where he is due to nothing but hard work, starting off as a 14 year old jumping 1.30m. There's no natural talent to this, it's just that he's prepared to put in the work that 99% of people won't do. And quality coaching in a country that knows their athletics with so many indoor arenas for the winter. Progressive overload, only taking on how much he can handle at a time.

  • @packieenright when he was 14 he jumped 1.94 I think ... you can't call it just hard word and you can't say that an athlete who has jumped 2.40 has no talent

  • @damiqde6uq Ya you're right dude, he certainly is very talented, and that's needed for HJ. I can testify to that with my 1.30 pb.

  • @packieenright ur right and the is no such thing as natural talent its all work and training

  • @soaa55 Since you claim to be twelve its evident you still need to be doing some growing up...specially in the brain area :)...Best sportsman in the world owe it to Superior genes and some hard work.

  • @soaa55 "ur right and [there] is no such thing as natural talent..."

You are absolutely wrong. The fact that (almost) everyone jumps higher with training, does not mean that everyone has the same natural propensity for jumping high.

In every event, the best in the world (and Holm certainly was one) combine very rare talent with excellent training.

  • what a control of body ...

  • dog dog dog dog dog dog dog dog dog dog dog dog dog dog dog dog dog dog dog dog dog dog dooooooooooooogggggggggggggg!!!!!! no other adj describes homie better

  • stefan holm jumps so freakin high with his 1,74m because he has a unnormal big achilles tendon.

this improves his jumpingpower damn hard.

and this is why he can jump this amazing heights.

  • @carsteNmlk he´s not 1,74 m he´s 1,81 m as I am..

  • @h000lm really cause 7 mothes ago i was 1m 75cm and im 12 maybe i should check again

  • holm roll is so sick!

  • Hello Stefan Holm ! :X I'm from Romania ! Come here :)

  • To uploader: It's Karlstad, not Kalstad! :) Great upload!

  • i dont get it how people can jump so high so often without hurting their knees

  • i think u hurt your knee at landing not when u jump, so he is landing on soft surfaces

  • believe me you hurt ur knee more then u know it i broke mine becuase i(actually my dumbass coaches) over passed the limit my knee can handle and i moved the bone and broke a part of it

but now i'm completly healed but i can't do sports for now i need to make my bone strong again by going to the gym

if u don't believe me i can show u proof

  • because they land soft, its the landing that damages the most when jumping. yes u apply the same force going up as when you come down, but in a different way.

  • The Holm Roll was cool.

  • thats pretty fab

  • greatest jumper ever

  • Cameraman or uploader..

Do you know Stefan Holm or can you contact him? =)

  • Comment removed

  • sanslöst....

  • a fosbury flop is when u go head first over th bar...

  • youre retarded, the fosbury flop is exactly what holm does in this video, back to the bar

  • ...why are you such a dick? Like really, chill the fuck out, this is youtube... All i've seen from you is calling people queer and retarded. Can you get a life and stop harassing people on the goddamn internet? Or if you can't help it, just be nice. Hatin' is bad for the soul. =)

  • the first one is the most practical one in real life situations

  • The only of the elite jumpers who wasn't tall at all, pretty cool.

  • i wonder how high the highest scissor kick is. he might have it

  • Scissor Kick

2 meter :-D Det är kaxigt!

  • tror han höjer ribban vid 1:35 en decimeter så han gör det på 210 cm.....

  • .....thats incredible...

I´m sure, that he would be an incredible long jumper too

  • awesome. so springy

  • hey i do scissors kick when its is not high...i use flobby flop when its high than me...

    btw nice video..~ :D

  • Look daddy, it's a gazelle! My grandpa is from Sweden....but he can't do that. lol

  • i only know 3 of them

  • I wonder how high the bar is at the different jumps

  • the only one i know is Scissor Kick...lol

  • high jump nerd

  • OMG!

    He's amazing!

  • He is amazing!

  • i'm confused...

everyone uses the last type that he did... but can u jump in the olympics and competitions using the other styles?

  • All of the techniques demostrated are legal under the rules. There is a 7th option, not demonstrated but similar to the Holm roll, effectively super-man style over the abr with a single-foot take-off.

  • so as long as you do a single foot take off you're jumping legally... awesome

  • yeah but the flop is the most practical form. the other ones are harder to get a better height

  • The flop is the LEAST practical form for real life situations. Sure it might win you medals but what good are they gonna do you when you're running down an alley away from a mugger. You can't flop the wall at the end. But you could scissor kick it.

  • Or you can do Parkour and vault it very easly. =)

    Nice video.

  • they dont call it real life high jump

  • ok well when you jump over stuff when running from a mugger do you also try and not touch any part of what your jumping over so as to not knock it over....no, you use it to vault yourself even higher

I'd love to see someone try and scissor kick something when running for their life....delete this youtube account and make a new name so that people dont make fun of you for your idiotic comments made with this username...queer

  • Lol at someone called "birdcallin" laughing at my name. People automatically know you're "queer" before you even write anything. Not to mention, read the conversation before you start spouting shit. The person said "the flop is the most practical form." I said it wasn't, from what was shown. Obviously the vault is more effective in real life. Genius.

  • really queer? cuz i reread the comment and it says it is the most practical form" for getting a height" meaning NOT IN REAL LIFE SITUATIONS, queer, and then you went straight to talking about real life situations like a dumbass

  • one of the best athletes in the world !

  • can just flat jump

  • wow, he must be like top pro or very far ahead somwhere

  • he won the olympics in 04

  • And I saw it live :) ... sitting few meters behind him ...

  • he can scissor kick over 2,10 metres...thts just plain sick:D

  • fuckin hell he can just like scissor kick striaght over a 2 metre wall :O

  • how high was that?

  • every type of jump was at least 2 meters high

  • that scissors kick was so pro

  • @thewatcher654 thats cus he is pro

  • @thewatcher654

    not only the siccsor kick

  • @thewatcher654 well yes and no cause its for beginners, the flop is much more technical. The scissor jump looks harder than it is (i just started high jump and im doing scissor jump i got an ok 1.35m im 12 btw so I wouldnt say its bad) Just saying

  • i am gonna start doing the holm jump

  • It's hard, since you have to jump with one leg only.

  • SUPREME HOPPAGE FTW!!!

  • I train in this hall some times

  • Nice hops.

    -Exerciser X

  • LEGEND.

  • fuck u those shorts are ballin

  • with a vertical leap like that he could pretty much show up in a pink tutu and still be totally hardcore.

  • and you're a blatant homophobe.

i bet you don't even shower naked in the locker room.

    enjoy wearing your bathing suit.

  • THE BEST JUMPER EVER!!!! Ana one of the shortest

  • awesome!!! go holm!!!!!

  • And they say the white man can't jump!! I give you exhibit A^

  • what a beast

  • this amezing, i know a 15 years old guy that jumps 2.13 in high jump. This is amezing

  • i can get about 1.45 and im 14. lol, i know its crap, but its my bum that gets in the way

  • hahahahahahahahaha

  • Very good video. Has clear examples of the styles of jumps.

  • Too bad Holm's retiring this season. :(

  • Yep, I sure will miss him

  • It's sick how high that man can jump.. He's 180 and he's like the shortest man to compete in high jump... And to pull off a jump thats 2.37 outdoor is crazy.. And indoor 2.40 it's incredible.. Jag gillar Stefan Holm oerhört.. Tråkigt att han slutar, men han är den bästa höjdhoppare sverige någonsin kommer att ha... Chansen att vinna OS-guld igen finns.. Så lycka till! SWEDEN RULES!!!

  • what do u think his vertical leap is??? wondering

  • Only around 60 cm. See the "Im Koerper der Topathleten" vid where he's performing a vertical jump.

  • haha sum1 needs to get this guys a basketball in his hands =D

  • hey? can he do the barrell roll?

  • maybe if slippy was screaming at him to do it

  • Swedish are spetacular at High Jump. Holm is favorite for Gold Medal at Beijing(he made 2m37 this year,is the best 2008 mark). And Sweden had the former High Jump world recordist, Patrik Sjoberg (2m42), actually the European record.

  • don't forget abouut kajsa berqvist (however it's spelled)

  • Kajsa Bergqvist has quit..

  • i'm aware of that.

it's not like patrik sjoberg hasn't quit, ye he was in the list.

So i thought bergqvist should be included in the list of reasons why the swedes have been and still are so good at high jump.

  • okay, i tought you mean in beijing :)

  • Isn't that, "straddle"?

  • wow .. question can you do that even in the street ?

  • would be cool if you did egg roll

  • can u really do that in high jump?

  • why is it called california roll?

looks more like 'bruce lee side-kick' lol fuckin americans

Amazing fuckin jumping-he can probs headbang vertical jump some NBA players hand vertical jump lol

  • GREAT STEFAN!!!!!...W ITALY AND NUORO IN SARDINIA!!!!!!!!! nugoresu e min' de vanto!!!! ahahahahahahahah....byebye

  • Stefan has an amazing left foot jump.

  • The Soi - Freedom is the song

  • cool song...anyone know the name/artist?

  • I noticed something. The fact that he's a fairly average height person, probably around 5'7, and he's light-weight helps him give off more exertion when jumping. So if you way less and have a better lean body, then it will help to give a higher vertical. Just noticed. I don't know if it's true or not though.

  • Well he's actually 5ft 11" (he just looks tiny when next to the other 6ft 6" highjumpers). You're right, Vert Jump is basically determined by your Strength:Weight ratio. Stephan Holm is incredible strong but also quite light. Sprinting is the same, if you get stronger but also gain lots of weight you wont get faster (maybe even slower) so u gotta get strong without gaining weight (very heavy weights/low reps (less thn 5) and bout 5mins between sets.

  • holy fuck!!!! the tuck jump was the craziest

  • Dude, fuck yeah it was!!! I wanna do that shit!!!

  • wow sihunt, this is truly amazing

hes jumping over stuff over his head

what is the science behind this?

he doesnt even bend down to jump

is it all in his calves? is it the motion of his arms swinging up? what is the science or is it all feel?

Im just wondering because Im trying to reach a higher vert. leap myself

but this is just biblical jumping.

  • En mi opinion, con la altura que tiene Stefan, salta mas alto que Sotomayor.....

  • creo k si...

  • Very good klip!

  • id like to see MJ try that

  • hohohoho... how abut "white men can't jump"?

    amazing!

  • He's not a man, he's Stefan Holm :)

  • and pretty much the best high jumper in the world right now

  • and pretty much the best high jumper in the world right now

  • damn, white guy got ups!!!!!!!1

  • The Stradle is how we jumped before Mexico City Olympics and Dick Fosbury's new style.I did 6'8 with the stradle

  • I think the California Roll looks the coolest. But then again they are all cool. The Holm Roll is insane!! That looks so hard to do...on something that high!!!

  • very nice
