nice song and nice voice gypsy (i'm a poet by the way and i use the word gypsy alot in my poems ;) ) oh i wanted to aks you . are you planning to write a song for late george carlin too? becuase i think he deserve one too .. oh and november this year i'm doing my first stand up comedy with carlin and hicks being my inspiration i hope i can do soemthing similar .. love khasrow
@khasrow29 Thank you Khasrow. I actually didn't write this song. It was written by my husband, Rich Sheldon but I love Bill so much, that I decided to record it myself. I like Carlin too but Bill's heart was so big under all that frustration and I just really related to him. I feel like he said everything I thought and couldn't communicate, but with his brilliant comedic talent! Best of luck to you with your stand-up!
Excellent Song! Bill Hicks you are an Amazing human being..love and thoughts are with you today and always. Thanks Gypsy for writing this wonderful, it's the writers that keep the memories alive!xo
and bill hicks' videos are some of the best things i've ever watched... everybody should see them, at least listen to what he has to say. he was a very smart person, and saw the world a lot more clearly than most people for what it really was. everyone can probably learn something from his words.
congratulations on a great peice of work someone who could see deeper into bill hicks's words not always funny but alway thorght prevoking and deep listen to his words with out a closed of mind and be an improved person because of it. you dont have to take all he says a gospel (thats dangerous) but there is something in something bill said that can be applyed to us all
Thanks for your kind words. Putting anything out there relating to Bill is definitely like walking through a mine field. Everyone has such strong feels and thoughts about him and his life. What an incredibly brilliant, funny, cynical and at the same time hopeful human being he was! Could you imagine how much he would have to say about the state of the world today! :) Gypsy
Hi there, no we didn't snag any riffs from Bill, just his footage. The music part was inspired while watching "The Last Waltz" and the words were inspired by reading the book "Agent Of Evolution" by Bill's best friend, Kevin Booth.
I disagree with you. I think Bill would have been flattered that an artist (not backed by the "Machine") would take the time to put a song together honoring his life and his words. He appreciated people who understood what he was really trying to say underneath his anger.
" I left in love, in laughter, and in truth and wherever truth, love and laughter abide, I am there in spirit." from Bill Hicks' last written words before his death.
Nice one.
Rest In Peace, Bill
