The only thing I hated about this version was the giant rats. I didn't care that all the nazi stuff was taken out but changing a realistic war enemy to and flat out logically insane enemy you'd see in a World War 2 Environment makes no sense at all.

I'd give this game an 8.5 out of 10. The worst port of this game is the XBox version (which is unlockable for beating RTCW) which doesn't allow you to run whatsoever. Not by any sort of autorun, and not by a button.

The GBA version is a close second for the worst since it has no music and it requires you to hold L and R at the same time (your strafe buttons) to run. So while you can't circle strafe while running, at least you CAN run.

It's so frustrating how Nintendo insisted upon killing the background story in this game, but were too lazy or cheap to insist upon some sort of plausible story in the reason. There could have quite easily have been another story told through this game, but Nintendo decided they wanted to simultaneously milk the Wolfenstein franchise, but were too gutless to lose some pissy sales in predominantly Germany. Shame, Nintendo.

It's not weird at all. Nintendo hasn't forced developers to censor games since Mortal Kombat II, and the ESRB ratings system came out. Wolf3D for the SNES was before that happened.

All censored games since has been the decision of the developer to lower the rating to sell to a larger audience.

The port is actually quite good. John Carmack did a great job, considering that the SNES has a very slow processor (3,58 Mhz). The only thing this port suffers from is Nintendo's censoring.
