  • this welly should not be watching films at all. if this is what he thinks are great movie fights.very sad

  • What's the name of the last song in the Gladiator scene???

  • @Rockstopstudios97 hello........during the actual battle the song is called The Battle.....however at the very end of the scene it is called Earth......it is a great piece of music as is the whole album .....you should listen to the entire soundtrack.....it is outstanding.....I listen to it a couple of times a day !!!!! glad someone noticed the great music of the movie........

  • i have perfect music for this. look up jupiter by Holst and start it at the very beginning. it syncs up perfectly.

  • AAll off these actually happened, bot the 2 one i think

  • 300? seriously?!! battle scenes from LOTR and Avatar shits all over 300

  • and braveheart

  • You guys want the CGI Lord of the rings on the list? Really?! I agree that 300 shouldn't give place to something else, but definitely not LOTR.

  • 300? Really? I mean, c'mon. There's bleeding and then there's just showing off...

  • 300 is just a bulshit propaganda

  • @sarmido Absolutely. Historically speaking, all the other Greek city states except Sparta and Athens sided with Persia because they weren't major assholes as they were depicted in the movie, plus they would allow each city state to govern themselves as long as they considered themselves to be affiliates of Persia. Persia also abolished slavery, so I don't know why Leonidas was screaming bullshit about freedom all the time, since Sparta still had slaves at the time.

  • Red Cliff should be in here

  • nobody likes the musical license you took on these movies. In fact, you ruined Master and Commander

  • Very nice mate. Thank you

  • The French guys sound like the Frenchies in Monthy Python and the Holy Grail.

  • music at 300 rocks

  • what's the name of the first movie pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeas

  • @enigmaticcheers Star Wars

  • Why are all you little kids being like pricks for? He didn't say this was the TOP 3 MOVIE BATTLES OF ALL TIME, he just gave us 3 to watch, He might not of seen kingdom of heaven or LOTR or have that media avaliable to him. And about the music? It will get taken down for copy right otherwise you wierd little cunts.

  • ?! yh their good enough but WTF? where's battle of hatin <.< from Kingdom of heaven, n' lord of rings :/ im dissapointed. i:

  • Pity about the music choice.

  • what about the last samurai

  • @islamgood1243123 yes the last samurai final battle scene was fucking epic, so was both major battle scenes in braveheart

  • The music ruins it when Gladiator starts

  • @hellnotno

    I agree

  • Would have been nice if you hadn't taken that SHITTY music. Sorry, doesn't fit to the scenes. You ruined it. thumbs down

  • alexander the great? braveheart?

  • what does 28 days later have to do with epic killings?

  • 300 green screen bullshit

  • this is (FUCKING) sparta!!!!

  • For the laundry list of historic flaws 300 had, from 1:30 to 2:10 is actually ver acurate as to how battles in ancient Greece were fought.

  • European History FTW!!

  • 300, What a bullshit! Western Propaganda againt East.

  • @elazar79 Just read about the 300 spartans, they stood brave and died hereos defending their country and holding the line for reinforcements. I laugh that you think it's propaganda when this is in the history books.

  • @LolFishFail kid... they weren't 300 as u think, kid, they were 1200, not including peloponneso's warriors(+3000)... the persians were 20.000 and they lost 2000 mens.... killing all the spartans(on a wall)

  • @lupo1thewolf cuz you were there.

  • @LolFishFail no, "cuz" it is written in books... of course a film must be more intelligent -.-

  • @lupo1thewolf Do you know what I imagine when I'm reading a book? A film.

  • 2 Best Film Battle Sequences

    1.Braveheart

    2.Oliver Stone's Alexander.

  • The battle from 300 was shit, tbh.

  • I guess there is no way to shut the music off and enjoy the soundtrack, huh ?

  • I think the music should have been showing more power, and another great battle is of Spartacus, otherwise I'll rate you a 2

  • look up waterloo with rod stieger...zulu...and kingdom of heaven for 3 other great ones

  • 300 looks like 3D animation rather than a movie to me.

  • Loved Gladiator...except the ripped off soundtrack from Zulu in the beginning. The Barbarian chants you hear are from the 1963 Movie Zulu. Shame on you! Always wished they'd make more Master and Commander films. Guess it's not to be. Could use more 'wooden ships and iron men' movies like that.

  • @roadstarman58 All I care is if the music fits the scene.

  • @stevensw My comment wasn't about the music in this video, it was about the the track used in the beginning of the movie Gladiator. The German barbarian chants leading up to the big battle scene, the Uhm Umbwata chant. and the Zoooooloooooo are straight from the movie Zulu made in 1963, another great war movie in it's own right since it portrays and actual event, too. My shame on you comment was aimed at the makers of Gladiator.

  • @stevensw My comment about the sound track wasn't about this video, it's about the track used in the beginning of the movie Gladiator. The Germanic barbarians chanting Uhm Umbwata and zooolooo are straight from the movie Zulu made in 1963. My shame on you comment is not directed at the maker of this video, it's to the makers of Gladiator.

  • I found it pretty good up until the Gladiator scenes. 28 Days Later and Pearl Harbour went well with 300 and M&C, but that crappy, stereotypical "aggressive" and bland metal music does not serve Gladiator at all. Should've just left Hans Zimmers score in there.

  • Should have put something from "Kolossus" by Keep of Kalessin on here instead of that music.

  • Praise be to Rome....

  • Good work Matthew

  • this saw was in one of the 28 movies...

  • That Gladiator battle just shows you how organized and disipenled the Romans were. Their armies were machines. If you have one gear(one type of soldiers) it can only do so much. But when you oraniaze and corodinate several different gears(many different types of troops) the possiblities are endless.

  • @drnogood59

Except in real life, if the Roman Army attacked like it did in the film, it would have been annihilated. The Romans would never have charged like that across an open field against a tough enemy. But it was a very cool scene to watch :P

  • @TheDarkFrontier You have it ALL wrong the Romans looked for places that were wide and open so they could use their formations and artillery sucessfully. The barbarian soldiers were not a professional army. The Romans would only be annihilated like you say they would be in an ambush where over 250,000 barbarians attacked a narrow colume of 20,000 Romans. When the Romans charged they threw their pilums first to disable enemy shields or kill the enemy. Then charge with their shields infront.

  • @drnogood59

Really? Look at how scattered the formation is when the Romans charged. The Romans wouldn't have attacked a horde like that in reality. And no, the Barbarians weren't professional, but that doesn't mean they weren't tough. People have this misconception that barbarians were shit at fighting, when the opposite is true. I made no mention to their use of formations - the formation broke up so much they would not have been able to use their cohorts as a solid wall to beat them back.

  • @drnogood59

Before you read something else into my statement and misinterpret what I was saying, let me make it clear - The Romans DID charge, but they charged in unison - with their shields in line with each other. The Roman charge in this film was scattered about all over, it was almost like a zig-zag. Even a MILITARY HISTORIAN watched this movie and said exactly the same thing - the Romans would not have attacked in that fashion.

  • @TheDarkFrontier They didn't charge, by dictonary definition. To charge means to run at full speed. If you want people to understand just say they advanced to the enemy. True they didn't advance in a perfect line. Sooo sorry for all the perfectionists out there but in the heat of battle things aren't always the way you want them to be.

  • @drnogood59

Clearly, again you've missed the point. I was not referring to them walking up to the enemy. But then again, I have no interest with arguing with an upstart 16 year old, who, unlike the military historian who critiqued this movie, has no idea what he is talking about.

  • How can one compare these three films? All 3 are of a different era in history, in different parts of the globe, as well as different types of warfare. Although I have not seen 300(yet) all 3 films were box office hits, and in thier own right, outstanding movies. To compare them is a waste of time.

  • lol last song fail. Lame rock music played during an epic battle. An insult to the Romans.

  • LORD OF THE RINGS! come on

  • WTF! LORD OF THE RINGS AND KINGDOM OF HEAVEN ARE NOT IN IT LOL

  • @mw2nukes1 probably because the battle scenes in them are shite. enjoyable but just dont make u feel much. gladiator was a classic battle scene. anyway you should stick to cod, its makes combat simple, easy, lazy and as threatening as a pillow fight with katy perry.

  • @mw2nukes1 thats because its fictional shit

  • kill those dirty fucking Persians

    gaul here

  • what the fuck is with the shitty over driven guitar to hans zimmer epic score.

  • Probably the best scene of the movie ruined by a terrible piece of music. Terrible...

  • great vid whaqt song diyou useduringthe gladiator battle? plaese and thank you

  • Only Lord of the Rings have better battles than these and next time at least put the whole battles!

  • 300 was pornography. The battle scenes were retarded. The campy 60s flick was more realistic. Spartan Hopalites without armor and wearing capes? Gay porn.

I don't meant to insult homosexuals. The Spartans were well known for barrack friendships. Heck their women were dressed as boys for their wedding nights. I mean to mock this as gay porn. The irony of course being that the Xerxes/Ahasueras (Esther's husband) is shown as effeminate.

PS. Were's the Battles of Pelennor Fields

  • The last song really ruined it.

  • the song?

  • your music in the gladiator part was soooooooo great, that it sucked little telletubbie titties.

  • You dudes are so Mainstream... Like 300 is so false in every way... And the battle from gladiator is not very important... You Should have chosen Battles that changed the course of World History... It was the battle after Thermopolye that destroyed the Persian army...

  • You should have put Alexander the Great "Battle of Gaugamela", Braverheart "Battle of Falkirk" and The Teutons "Battle of Grunwald"...

  • You put a dumb music over gladiator, pissed me off...

  • 300 is shit(crap) compared to galdiator, kingdom of heaven and master and commander.

  • um Mongol???????

  • Russell Crowe yelling "Roma Victa!" as he charges is one of the most powerful cinema lines of the last 10 years.

BTW, if you want to see a pretty good battle scene, check out "Mongol", a sort-of biography of Genghis Khan. Good stuff.

  • master and commander wins accuracy, 300 wins cuz of kickassness!!! lol

  • Kingdom of Heaven and Braveheart should be in here too.

  • That battle from gladiator is so damn epic it makes my spine chill.

  • srsly gladiator ftw, everytime i see that wolf jumping out of the fire im like wow, nicely made :)

  • 300 is so unrealistic they even got the landscape of the battle wrong,JUST LOOK AT IT !

  • guys he never said these were the best battles in cinema history! he just said that they were great battles that he wanted to make a video out of.

  • really master and commander? might as well put fucken narnia on here

  • the battles that should be in this video are: kingdom of heaven, lord of the rings 2 and 3 and the ones that are here. the ones that aren't here are the best ones.

  • what about the Battle of Waterloo, i thought that was one of the most important movie battles.

  • name of the song????

  • Although the Film wasn't overly great, and the Greeks didn't have Irish accents, the battle scene from 'Alexander' is really pretty decent, despite Colin Farrell just ruining the film in general...

  • @delilahbeau Really? I thought they were really hazy and hard to follow because it was hard to tell the two armies apart most of the time and when I could, I didn't find reason to care...much like if Michael Bay had directed it. I'd watch 'Alexander' 50 times before I'd watch anything that hack made. And i don't think Colin Farrell was HORRIBLE, he was just wrong for the part. The problem was Oliver Stone really didn't have an opinion on Alexander and therefore the film was aimless.

  • Good scenes, bad soundtrack.

    useless

  • Master and Commander battle was won in the first four shots.

  • i dont know about the best battle, but my favourite ones are from lord of the rings.. the battle in the two towers and especially the return of the king are freakin epic!

  • 300 was such a shit movie, so politically motivated. Why do they not show how great the Persian empire is and stop making them look so evil! The Greeks were being nosey bastards and causing riots within Persian control states. The Persians took them out. Simple. Go fuck yourself Hollywood.

  • when a movie about LEPANTO battle : D

  • not LOTR?

  • i say that the lord of the wings battles were bigger than all of these put together

    don't you guys agree??

  • Those cheaters from master and commander don't deserve the honor to my opinion. Military dressed up as civilians is a cowards tactic.

I really liked the battle of gladiator.

  • @Ramschat I know what ur saying but back then a brig had no other choice. Compared to that french man of war if they fought head on they wouldve sunk in minutes

  • @Ramschat You left out that they raised their flags as a Ship of War and assumed their military uniforms BEFORE firing. It is a lawful "ruse of war" (look it up on wikipedia) and not perfidy (using a white flag and then firing, etc).

  • European and American movies has always tried to show the EU and the U.S. military is always the hero or victor ..

And show other people as barbaric and greedy and Ugly people .. Etc. I think the truth is the truth no matter how much films makers distorted

  • @NextLife77 Huh?? I no understand your poor English.

  • They're appealing to a European/American audience, right? (Do they want to antagonize their audience?)

  • @NextLife77 True... but what do you expect? Who wants to watch a movie of their own guys getting there asses handed to them?

  • Kingdom of heaven was terrible for historical accuracy

  • @Bunionification

well i think it was as close as you can get without making the film boring.

  • 300 then? talk about accuracy

  • @mastiffis You're right there

  • @Bunionification true but it was a good movie with that set aside.

  • @bodomboy666True, i enjoyed it

  • 300 sparton is not just fictional history its actually misrepresentation of history.for same reason its twisted approach to history is quite offensive to some people.

i think a historic film demands a bit more justice with history like kingdom of heaven did.

and if it has to be fictional it should be something like troy.

300 sparton is heavily animated and action,if u dont mind mind me saying ,is way over the top.i think its only one step better from a cartoon and is not for fully grown ups.

  • isn't this song in 28 weeks later

  • Yep!

  • Gladiator was a good battle. It was only a pity, a big pity that the enermies of the romans in the movie where german tribes or allmany ( translation all men)

The tall man in the wood is impresive, especially when he said: Du verdampte hunde! (translation: you dam dogs)

Nice movie lighting, costume and story.

  • Gladiator is still the most epic movie scene ever... only movie that has ever came close whas braveheart... but thats because its longer...

( This is my own though, and Im a Rome Freak so...)

  • Dont be to hard. This music is not chosen so bad in my opinion.

  • The 300 battle was pretty epic, but it was grossly wrong. Master and Commander was very, very good at its historical presentation of naval battle. Gladiator was equally awesome. But for future reference, a good number of people don't like hard/metallic rock with battle scenes.

  • u shouldnt have put music on top of the original music of the films, u killed it man :(

  • you should put kingdom of heaven in this vid cuz that movie was totally awesome

  • @1999kim

i think the movie sucks, because they put the christian as heroes and thats not true the Pope was a total idiot

  • @eyalgracyani889 even though they made the chiristians as heroes but they lose the war

  • 300 sucks no clear swordfight

  • r u retarded 300 was full of clear sword fight

  • @5620200391 ur retarded you called that a swordfight u idiot.

  • ya r just some blind dude that doesnt see all the action goin on if u wanted to see knights fighting go watch kingarthur u pansy

  • @5620200391 HAhaa dumb ass nitwit Watch a GAY fuck m0vie u morron

  • @5620200391 5620200391 is a little baby looking for attention. He came to page asking how to do something on a video which, ironically, shows EXACTLY how to do what he just asked. When I pointed out that it's specifically answered in my video, he starts leaving comments calling me an "asshole" and "rude."

    Just ignore this little baby.

  • Comment removed

  • I can't belive you overwrote the soundtrack in the gladiator battle. It's lite one of the best soundtracks yet to have been made. And you replace it with crane berrys - zombie ?! OMFG! THAT SONG SUCKS ANYHOW!

  • I agree, putting that music over top of the Gladiator one was a bad choice indeed.

  • J03HLL:

It is. It shows some really good battles even with the Immortals. E.G. They wore a cloth which was only seeable by them, if you looked at it one way you couldn't see through it. That's where the whole Ninja idea of 300 came up from.

  • I wouldn't say you were crazy but the accounts from herodotus regarding the battle are wildly hyped up and inaccurate!

300 at no point pretends to be a historicaly accurate film. Its so over the top how could anyone think it was!

Braveheart on the other hand is just as inaccurate but apes being real.

But being English I would say that!

  • i'm pretty sure that you shouldn't have put the 2cnd video in, Braveheart was the choice Alba go bragh i might be biased mind you though seeing as i am Scottish

  • 28 giorni dopo

  • I find it pretty sensless to overpower Zimmer's score for gladiator with other music.

  • Totally..

  • Agreed. That was a terrible decision on an otherwise good video. If you're going to show movie battles, why not get it right?

  • MaC rules.

  • isnt this song from the movie 28 days later? the british horror movie

  • It is, DonHega. It's written in the description of the video : "In a house in a heart beat" is the name of the song, 28 days later soundtrack !

  • thnx for puting master and commander in here. i watched half of that movie and couldnt watc hit any longer now i know what i've missed)

  • 300is a stupid movie from historical viewpoints, it is so unrealistic and untrue it doesnt even to deserve to be the battle of thermopoly

  • THANK YOU! gaw i am so glad there are people out there like me. i hate 300. everyone i say that to thinks im crazy but it bastardized the hisorical account which was in itself a great story.

  • it's a great movie and a great tribute to bravoury and morale. so yeah you are crazy

  • 300 is not meant to be historically accurate, its meant to be a lightshow. in that capacity it was pretty awesome.

  • That makes sense for sure. My dislike of it is very specific to me because id rather see a historical version. i can get its appeal in the light show sense.

  • i havent seen it, but ive heard that "The 300 Spartans" is a good movie if you want the realistic sense of Thermopylae

  • how is called this song

  • Master and Commander was a good movie, but you really don't compare it to GLADIATOR and 300. I think it went well with 28 weeks later theme song. 5 stars.

  • I personally consider Master and Commander a far superior film to 300 which I dont think is very good , its not Gladiator status.

  • @wellyboot From a cinematographic and artistic point of view, 300 is superior to Master and Commander (which was a total flop). Then again, Gladiator is a must see.

  • @wellyboot yeees it's just splasing and slaying..

  • love watching medieval battles guns have simply gotten boring...

  • That isnt medieval :P

  • all three movies are amazing they are just MOVIES after all thats why they call it 300 if they wanted to name it 10,000 they would have anyway no one really knows what happened in these historical events most of you cant even spell right anyways the music selection was ok im into hip hop so it wasnt bad however go watch the movie if you dont want a music video duh..... on the other hand i give it a 5 out of 10 wasnt the greatest but was able to enjoy

  • 2:43 = Overkill

  • The fact that none of these battle scenes are historically accurate doesn't make then any less badass.

  • I disagree. Although the Master and Commander scene depicts a fictional event, I believe that as a representation of a single ship action it is quite accurate.

  • I think we're getting a bit too intellectual in regards to this video. Seems more like something to be watched before drinkin' smokin' fuckin' or fightin'...

  • Y 28 weeks later song for a battle?

  • thats an awesome movie

  • looks like Darth Vader on a horse at 0:32

  • Right

  • 300 is fucking fake

  • so is every other movie, because there movies :O

  • the fim is fake but hte story is actually true, there was a battle a thermaylope where spartans fought and were crept up on by persians who used a hidden path and they were all slaughtered but it rallied greece to fight the persians

  • yes I know.....but 300!!!!the first battle nobody died......can you believ that???

  • spartans werent holding the line all the time so somebody died for sure since other greeks werent trained in fightning from age of 7 like spartans

  • Fake most of moives are fake they just went to justify the west

  • yes and there wernt only 300 spartans there were also 7000 allied greeks also

  • some greek writers from 5th century bc say there were 10000+ greeks and only 80000 persians ;)
