Thank you, i have a 6 string Martin and am looking to buy a 12 string, but it is impossible to review an instrument when someone only strums two chords, Thank you so much for playing not only one, but two songs that I definitely enjoyed! Good job:)
@keithrichardsfulco The price new is about €2300, but it is possible to buy them second hand (used). They really are worth the money. A bientot mon ami
i have a really big question help!!!i have a guitar like this but it is an electric acoustic its old beat up and im not sure if its real just for that acoustic electric purpose.help?
Thanks a lot for this excellent post. I am just in the process of trying to decide whether to buy a Martin 12 string...yours sounds great and play well:)
@greenslime27 I prefer d'addario EXP 12s. I found elixirs to be too dull sounding and too slippery for that matter. However I think the champion of coated strings are Ernie ball coated slinky's but they dont make 12 strings yet :(
I bought myself a Simon and Patrick woodland spruce 12 and I love it too. I swear it holds up to the Martin sound I really do. I also own a MArtin D16 GT and Love it :)
Great playing and sound. Epic sound nothing beats it
Oh boy are you in for some enjoyment. For me, it is the finest 12 I've ever played. I only play for enjoyment and don't bother to gig anymore (allows me to sing the same verse twice without apologising . . . just because I like it).
I've got it tuned down 4 semitones at the moment as I'm experimenting and it 'growls' beautifully. If you have half the joy I have had, you'll be blessed indeed. Have fun. Perhaps, you might manage a smile, unlike that ugly bugger in the video ;o)
An absolutely amazing guitar. My father bought one back in the 70's and has had it ever since. I love playing it so much that I am determined to purchase one in the near future for myself once I have enough money saved up. Sounds great by the way. Love the Bob Dylan song in the beginning. I hope the D12-28 brings you as much joy as it does for me. Take care.
i heard peter paul and mary, i'm only 20 how do i know that? lol

@turockandar It probably helps the sound, but I have it tuned down to D instead of E, this gives quite a lot bassier sound and an easier action.

What is the second song? Its driving me nuts...
saywhatblood 7 months ago
@saywhatblood There's a bit of La Bamba and then Little Sheila. So many songs almost run into each other.

@greenslime27 Ahh...Little Sheila is the one. Thank you sir!

Thanks for the feedback. I've just re-strung it tonight after 4 months - Elixirs, they really are worth the money.
I'm building up to doing a couple of 6 string ones now, we'll see. My D-28 is sounding cannon like, so perhaps I'll give that a go.
Main thing is . . . have fun! You can see me enjoying myself can't you ;o)

Thanks Peter - I'm disappointed with my expression, but I've never seen myself play before - I could see it on the camcorder's monitor screen.
I'd love to hear a 40 year old one, I am so deeply happy with this Martin, it compliments my 000-28 and its little brother, the D-28 beautifully.
Thanks for the positive feedback - I've never done a video before, next time it'll be a bit different. . .
