@blazrr72 to what I know of the samurai they were very careful and disciplined with their fighting style, I dont think they would just attack blindly, without seeing an opening in the knight's defences. Which might be hard with all that fire.

Fire had been used in ancient warfare for a long time, because tactically speaking they can cause severe panic in the enemy ranks if used correctly (at night of course). I wouldn't be surprised if at some point the Samurai/ European knights used wooden sticks coated with flammable material as an offhand weapon during a night raid/ambush.
