@oortdoug I used to think it was a waste of money too. Then I realized, as gamers, this is what gamers do, it's a hobby. To me, spending thousands on car performance, art or collecting figurines is a waste of money, but to those who love it and do it as a hobby, to them it's worth every cent.

Each to their own, a gamer will spend thousands on a new gaming rig, games and well, in some cases, will spend money on virtual items.

Valve will never make a stupid move like that. Valve is a business, making TF3 would be a terrible business move. TF2 is EXTREMELY profitable for Valve, why make a TF3? But also, they know that many have sunk so much money into this game that TF3 would be boycotted and the TF community would be outraged.

TF2 is not like other franchises, too many points to say, not enough character count.

When MW3 came out, the CoD community didn't do a boycott and only play MW2, when Halo Reach came out, the Bungie community didn't do a boycott and only play Halo 3. And even if TF3 doesn't come out, TF2 will have to get old eventually. Im sure when all those players are 40 they'll look back and realize all the money they spent.

PS- TF2 isn't as profitable now that its F2P
