In EVE it is explained like this: The Pod you are in simulates the sounds, you don't actually "hear" explosions and stuff, the Pod only makes you think you do :p
well sound travels by molecules, and those explosions, just the splosions launch molecules into space when they explode so they should, and would have sound. But everything else would have no sound :|

Deep space is a vacuum, and therefore you have no medium to transmit said waves of pressure - Hence, no sound.

Well depends on your ships and ur playstyle, it is mostly bout politics but thats what make the game fun XD trusting people. There are a few games where u explore, give it a year or 2 and eve may introduce more stuff like that, but i think its after every expansion or sumtin.
i have no clue who the hell wants $30 from you for that, this game is $20 for the first month to activate your account then $14.95 a month after that. And consider this, console games are ~$60 each now, and in less than 4 months they get boring and most you will sell, in that amount of time, you spend the same on EVE, however you will realized this game cannot be beaten, and there is always, ALWAYS something new to do and ways to get better.

@DanyF02 By far the best game. It took me a long time to get into eve. But it can be incredibly addicting (I personally know a guy who has 12 accounts). PVP is REALLY addicting. It has by far the best pvp in any game, imo.

I've noticed several videos here with the name Tortuga most of the talking about mercinary coalition, could some1 explain what exactly was goin on or is this video the best we're ganna get? That being said. AWSOME VIDEO!
Tortuga use to be part of what was call "Mercenary Coalition," a elite gun for hire alliance. They were once on the payroll of the BoB (Band of Brother) alliance or some kind of partnership.
The video is kinda like a last effort of leaving a legend or memory in Eve history when they disband. No clue, if i got it right, i don't paid much attention to other alliance affair.
MC left BoB's employ, founded a new Alliance of Alliances called Tortuga. They were MC, KIA, Outbreak, Daisho and EvOke. They took residence in Pure Blind. After this video was made time wnet by shit hit the fan and the Tortugan Experiement was dead, and the MC alliance broke up. Daisho and MC no longer exist. The others do iirc.
I'm KIA and proud to have been part of the Tortuga experiment, there is no one single reason why it didn't work but a number of them. But i'm proud of fighting for the ideal which was free space holding mercenaries. <3 MC/Daisho

well considering they can turn the tide of most fights in seconds and they carry a weapon that can pop literally hundreds of ships at once I'd say go for it. also you can dock people in it making it even more dangerious and you can play the dirtiest trick in all of eve by fitting a cloaking devise on it. But Its all up too you.
i think that if yoo have the cash and you dont mind spending months traing for it i say go for it as Domenion said it is a hell of a lota fun to have the thing cloaked thos becuase of its immense size it can be easy to decloack it, however the doomsday weapon that it can feild can turn the tide of any fleet battle if used right

There are as many as 3 Imperial Apocs and as few as one in the entirety of the game, with none being built, sold or handed out for loyalty points the cost for one of these would be around the cost for an actual car. Trust me, it was tricky. It involved having no life, massive friend donations, and playing nostop day and night except for the update times. I lived on Dr. Pepper and Frosted Flakes for the whole damn time....I DID shave though, once.

The impoc, yes it costs more then a titan(which is about 100bil, not the 160 you stated). A navy apoc, no it does not cost more then a titan, can't enter the game right now but i'm sure it is less then 400mill (cuz i know the navy raven is about 280mil)
It seems to me that its not really one single person who owns the ship. Its more like getting a pilot trained for it and then the corp/alliance buys it for the pilot to fly for the corp.

Ironically, if Mercenary Coalition hadn't stabbed BoB in the back, Band of Brothers might have ended up losing MORE territory than they eventually did, because MC's betrayal was the spark that rekindled their old fighting ability. Now they own Period Basis again, and they're pushing outwards once more.
Could someone please explain what the chain of events which lead up to this was? I know there was a retreat from Goonfleet, but that's about it. Anyone know the full range of events?
Basically MC has always wanted to be a Free Merc Force. But since they had to do contracts for bob they couldnt be a true merc force. The last contract was the deployment to FAT & where meant to plan a invasion of the Collective Outpost in YHN. However instead they desided to backstab bob & got outted when they contacted FIX Alliance. A number of merc corps moved to Period Basis & began attacking bob. All system dropped apart from TPAR where the

Im coming back to eve with a fresh start after i quit for a year or so, i'd been around since early '04. Im an Ex-Combat Recon/Logistics pilot, so id seen a bit of fleet warfare, but nothing like that. :)

Those of you calling MC "traitors" and "cowards" would benefit from looking up the word "mercenary" in the dictionary. I know it feels good to smack them now that they failed with their project and kick dirt into the face of someone who is already on the ground, but that is simply low and doesn't speak well of you yourself.
the problem is they didnt act as mercenaries. they tried to hold territory by backstabbing bob. that doesnt comply the definition of mercenary. that complies the definition of traitor.

IAC = Interstellar Alcohol Conglomerate
GBC = Greater BOB community i.e. BoB and all their allies/pets/renters)
FAT = FAT-6P = A solar system in Catch which is strategically important if you want to take the region.

I've noticed several videos here with the name Tortuga most of the talking about mercinary coalition, could some1 explain what exactly was goin on or is this video the best we're ganna get? That being said. AWSOME VIDEO!

Tortuga use to be part of what was call "Mercenary Coalition," a elite gun for hire alliance. They were once on the payroll of the BoB (Band of Brother) alliance or some kind of partnership.
The video is kinda like a last effort of leaving a legend or memory in Eve history when they disband. No clue, if i got it right, i don't paid much attention to other alliance affair.

MC left BoB's employ, founded a new Alliance of Alliances called Tortuga. They were MC, KIA, Outbreak, Daisho and EvOke. They took residence in Pure Blind. After this video was made time wnet by shit hit the fan and the Tortugan Experiement was dead, and the MC alliance broke up. Daisho and MC no longer exist. The others do iirc.

it takes forever to get into a battle like that, but even leve 2-3 npc missions have a nice amount of killing in it. but seriously, u wont be able to get that far in the trial, trust me ;)

We mainly use titans as simple mobile jump bridges rather than a main offensive weapon, also they are real easy to tank tbh, bubble it, then pwn it.
More of a status symbol than anything tbh, while in tortuga we had several, but they didnt really help us win or even hold ground.

well considering they can turn the tide of most fights in seconds and they carry a weapon that can pop literally hundreds of ships at once I'd say go for it. also you can dock people in it making it even more dangerious and you can play the dirtiest trick in all of eve by fitting a cloaking devise on it. But Its all up too you.

i think that if yoo have the cash and you dont mind spending months traing for it i say go for it as Domenion said it is a hell of a lota fun to have the thing cloaked thos becuase of its immense size it can be easy to decloack it, however the doomsday weapon that it can feild can turn the tide of any fleet battle if used right
in some cases they can singlhandidly win a fleet battle if used right

And they cost more like 170 billion....not including the cost to constantly fuel them...which is why I'm content with my Imperial Issue Apocalypse Battleship....I've got it's shields to 55,000 and it's Armor to 78,500.....and all tech 2 guns....cost even more than the titan....XD

You obviously haven't met me. It took me a very long time to get the ship and outfit it, Almost everything was bought with loyalty points. I hardly ever even take it out for fear some fagpirates try to swarm me....I could tank a fuckload, but I'd not risk it unless I had an escort. WHich I can't get these days. So, I just take my Harbinger out these days.

This is what I am thinking. He's confused the Imperial with the Navy, seriously this is why everyone is calling BS. There are as many as 3 Imperial Apocs and as few as one in the entirety of the game, with none being built, sold or handed out for loyalty points the cost for one of these would be around the cost for an actual car. Congrats on your navy issue ship, they are nice.

Trust me, it was tricky. It involved having no life, massive friend donations, and playing nostop day and night except for the update times. I lived on Dr. Pepper and Frosted Flakes for the whole damn time....I DID shave though, once.

Unfortunately, I spent so much time playing that I kinda forgot to train the skills that let me use all the shit I have for it now, So It's gonna take me about another 3-4 months before I can use it in combat.....man, I had crap planning, I rushed to get it so much I ignored the need for everything else...

The impoc, yes it costs more then a titan(which is about 100bil, not the 160 you stated). A navy apoc, no it does not cost more then a titan, can't enter the game right now but i'm sure it is less then 400mill (cuz i know the navy raven is about 280mil)

It seems to me that its not really one single person who owns the ship. Its more like getting a pilot trained for it and then the corp/alliance buys it for the pilot to fly for the corp.

Soon after Evoke, Outbreak left Tortuga because they didnt like the region. Leaving MC / KIA & DS to defend Period Basis. Ironically, if Mercenary Coalition hadn't stabbed BoB in the back, Band of Brothers might have ended up losing MORE territory than they eventually did, because MC's betrayal was the spark that rekindled their old fighting ability. Now they own Period Basis again, and they're pushing outwards once more.

Basically MC has always wanted to be a Free Merc Force. But since they had to do contracts for bob they couldnt be a true merc force. The last contract was the deployment to FAT & where meant to plan a invasion of the Collective Outpost in YHN. However instead they desided to backstab bob & got outted when they contacted FIX Alliance. A number of merc corps moved to Period Basis & began attacking bob. All system dropped apart from TPAR where the
Tortuga couldnt beat bob.

Im coming back to eve with a fresh start after i quit for a year or so, i'd been around since early '04. Im an Ex-Combat Recon/Logistics pilot, so id seen a bit of fleet warfare, but nothing like that. :)

Those of you calling MC "traitors" and "cowards" would benefit from looking up the word "mercenary" in the dictionary. I know it feels good to smack them now that they failed with their project and kick dirt into the face of someone who is already on the ground, but that is simply low and doesn't speak well of you yourself.
