  • Ya I do have a wheel but to him he takes it apart and sleeps under it most of the time when I wake up in the middle of the night I see him on it and he eats a hell load of food like a bowl a day or something we puted him on diet cat food but he still a fatty and when I go to play with him he runs and looks cute but about after five minutes of having him out he hides under something he no going to hibernate

  • My hedgehog does nothing it's a fatty it sleeps all day and when u play with it is not much fun because he goes back to sleep

  • @winxtwins If your hedgehog sleeps constantly, be very careful and get him some warmth and light. It may be trying to hibernate which is LETHAL for an African Pygmy Hedgehog. If he's just lazy, that's different. As long as he occasionally wakes up and eats or something it's okay. Just remember that they need exercise. That's why a solid (not wired) wheel is good for them.

  • The audio quality on this is so excellent. Good job.

  • @TheBearcat222 Well sorry it is not like he roars like a tiger when he plays

  • My hedgehog does this with a certain towel, its hilarious and seriously adorable

  • i want a hedgehog soooo bad!!!!!!!!!! <3

  • dude this fight is fixed...

  • does anyone know if its legal to have a pet hedgehog in new york???

  • @TheTruthCookie It depends on what you mean by New York. I think you need a license for having it in the state but it's illegal in all boroughs of New York City.

  • This is great - do not underestimate the hedgehog. Check out Spikez.co.uk if you want to know more - think Animal Farm meets The Matrix...

  • how do uget yours to attack your snake

  • @robotonator i did nothing special it was my sons toy and one day he left it on the floor, the hedgehog was passing by and jumped on it like he was fighting for his life :)

  • @FearStriker100 In the states where it is legal, you can. They may not be as common as cats or dogs, but lots of people do have them. And there are even forums dedicated to pet hedgehogs with lots of members and all the information you need to take care of them. These are not wild hedgehogs. They are captive-bred and sold.

  • I must teach mine how to do this. xD

  • Hahahahaha, I had a hedgie for 6 years, never once did it play tug a war. I am jealous.

  • @roijas I have seen other videos of hedgies playing tug of war also on here. It's so cute!

  • wow kick ass ive owned 4 hedgehogs now and have never scene this before, dont think ill show my fiance hes dosnt know what to think of ours (he's scared the chicken &^%$) love him dearly :)

mines very docile havnt even heard her hiss yet our house is loud 2 children 6 and 3 1 shepherd, 2 cats, a rabbit and 3 adults my 6 yr old named all out pets Peanut-butter, Jelly (cats) Freckle (GS) Ben10 (rabbit female) and Pinkeye our albino african pigmy. Pinkeye did bite Peanutbutter though

  • hahaha thats pretty cute!

  • 12 people who hates this are snake lovers for sure ;D

  • no wonder why sonic the hedgehog can easily beat solid snake XDDDDDDDD

  • I just got a hedgehog I love him sooo much already. Yesterday he got out. and I couldn't find him, while i was looking for him i hear my darg bark, and I saw my dog get a faceful of spines and left hm alone. Poor puppy. I would have never though a hedgehog could defend himslef from a 50lb dog. oh well, that'll teach my dog a lesson. So my Q is, are hedgehogs like hamsters when i comes to being escape artists? i hope not, idk how he got out, i must of left the cage open. I'll be more careful now.

  • @ciciironwill27 No they are not escape artists, they are nocturnal and roam around the house under the furniture, mine would dissapear around the house for a day but the soonest he heard movement around the kitchen it was his cue for coming out to eat :).

  • Sonic, your training is complete.

  • AWWWW 0:42 his little feet goin' is so CUTE

  • are they dangerous??? their have stings right????

  • @franzdaniel18 No they are not dangerous, they might bite once in a while if they are starteled , is like being pinched by a nidele,, the spines are pretty sharp but again they are errect when he feels danger .

  • @spy1309 ooohh... they are so cute...

  • @spy1309 hahahahaha erect :)

  • @spy1309 where do you get a hedgehog... cause i want one! haha.

  • @colbertisfly You can get one from pet store, depends in what state are you living, some might not allow them to be sold, try smaller pet store shops as the big chain ones are less likely to sell them

  • @spy1309 yea i want one do u know if u cand find them in a pet store in richmond VA i think i saw one at perfect pet once and i also heard that in some states u can have them but only if u have a special permet becuz theier exotic

  • @Hyper6Shadic I found this on wiki about your VA question. In Virginia, a permit is required and a 12-month waiting period before purchasing as a pet -- In fairfax counties only.

And yes, some states they are illegal, some require a permit. But some require no permit at all.

  • @LeksiLamentia I thought the states were "united" ? lol

    just an observation

  • @spy1309 can you hold a hedgehog without a glove without getting stuck?

  • @lizards4life123 Yes, you can. Many hedgie owners don't use gloves at all. Their quills lay down unless they raise them up. You just have to hold them the right way.

  • @colbertisfly i want a blue one that wears shoes and runs really fast

  • @colbertisfly You can also get them from actual breeders, or those who sell their hedgie's babies. There are some websites with forums that are dedicated to pet hedgehogs and have all of the information you need to take care of them. There's a lot to read, and a lot of members who can answer questions you don't find answers to somewhere there already. You may also find breeders there. Those websites are hedgehogcentral and hedgehogworld. Both at .com (youtube won't let me post actual links).

  • Hedgehog:Holy shit a snake i am gonna bite u mothafucka i am gonna KILL U!!!

  • the 12 people who disliked this are snake pet owners

  • it would be funny if the hedgehog said

    ey man gimme mah snake

  • I think he's interested in the smell- does he annoint himself later?

  • lol hes angery!!

  • hodgehogs have little dog feet

  • cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuute

  • lol that's awesome.

  • this is really cute

  • бедный ёж=)поймал добычу,дык ещё и отобрать надо

  • i think he knows it tastes like rubber... and doesn't care...

  • He's a beast.

  • Lol 3:14 victory strut

  • Tenacious little one, isn't he, lol!

  • i own a 2 foot ball python.... which gets out of its cage everyso often. im getting a hedgehog soon and i hope they can be friends :(

  • i named my hedgehog sonic, but my neighbor's dog got him, idk how the dog got into my back yard

  • Just put down a deposit on a hedgehog. This video reaffirms that my decision was the right one. ;)

  • Hedgehogs make excellent snake hunters as they are immune to snake venom. :P

  • That hedgehog issued out the ultimate death battle.LOL So cute, yet so deadly...if you're a snake. :)

  • oh u got pwnt man!

  • dude my hedgehog was awesome when i first got him, but now he'll only play occaisonally, on all those other times he just spikes out and starts breathing really hard..... HELP MEH!

  • @BlackRockGuild you got to play with them lots to keep them tame. If you leave it alone when it goes in a ball and hisses, it will learn to keep doing it to get it's own way. It's like giving in to a tantrum when a kid screams for sweats. Just keep stroking it gently till its spikes go down and it will get more friendly. Also mine doesnt like coming out in the light, so try taking it out when the lights are dimmed.

  • Just let him free around the house more, true is messy at times but it will make him aware more of his suroundings than being locked, the more comfortable you make him the more he will enjoy our company and play time, he spikes when he feels threatened, just let him free for a while around the house, don t worry that you will loose him, they always come out for food :)).

  • @BlackRockGuild He may be lonely... he needs cute she-hedgehog :) ;)

  • @blizzardstr10 So he can impress her with his awesome rubber-snake-fighting skills

  • @BlackRockGuild just play with it more. my hedgehog, lola, lost her eye and so she became very jumpy and wouldnt play anymore, but just keep at it. they come around. (just a tip: when shes curled up in a ball i let her sniff my breath so she knows its me since she cant see well. try it)

  • lol my moms dose that too and he likes socks he runs away and hides them under the coffee table

  • He's like a dog

  • the little guy's a rebel!

  • I Have 3 Hedgehogs As A pet.I Love These Hedgehogs

  • @Dario36514 do u know where u can buy one because i would love to own one

  • Sonic The Hedgehog Vs. Solid Snake

  • if you are going to use cat food for your hedgehog two things, first, you will have to slightly wet it so it isnt so hard it wears down their teeth, and second, only get Royal Canin Indoor Light catfood, number 40. Pretty much the only brand of cat/dog food you should ever buy anyhow.

  • can a hedgehog learn tricks or commands?

  • XD I like the cleanup crew at the very end. Dun want your hedgie messing up that nice kitchen floor now do you?

  • do they make any noise when they play like this? I have a ferret n he makes a noise when he gets playing.

  • What if he attacked the cat/Dog XD

  • RAWR! I IS A HEDGIE!

  • its the face that made he say ''awwwww''

  • do you know eny where i can buy a hedge hog in canda ontario

  • that is too funny, I'm gonna have 2 try that on my 2 spikey kids Talyn and Sabree

  • LOL! This is exactly what my hedgie looked like when I took him out, and he got ahold of my sweater! GAH! :]

  • do u use cat food if so what cat food do u buy?

  • I use Hedgehog food, you can find it at most pet stores, also he loves baby carotts

  • @spy1309 hey do you cook the carrots?

  • No I do not, he eats them raw, it is better for them.

  • @spy1309 okay thanks! i got two and i feed them cat food, for kittens, now and again i feed them some mealworms, thanks!

  • @essrida Do not give them to much cat food, it has to much fat and proteins, try to fing hedgehog food, they used to have at Petsmart stores.

  • @spy1309 okay will do, thank you very much ;P

  • @polkadottedponys here we use royal canin light 40 for hedgehogs and mazuri

  • @polkadottedponys best is to give them dry cat food kibbles - they need to be about 30% protein, 15% fat, 15% fibre.

Then bit of fruit, mealworms or crickets couple of times a week as a treat :)

  • so THIS is the reason why solid snake doesnt like sonic the hedgehog...

  • hedgehog wins (fun fact: hedgehogs have spins that a snake can't penitrat) so hedgehog eat supper tonight :)

  • I think thats so cute, I love Hedgehogs.

  • they remind me of chihuahuas, small and vicious XD

  • haha!! so cute. hmmmm....id say the hedghog wins. :) just cuz of cuteness!

  • damn never saw hedgehogs this close actually they or this one looks so like a nimi dogg ! thanx for the kind beautiful video !

the dog is like: hey guys whatcha doing?

  • lol that little guy acts like a dog with an annoying chew toy

  • Omg, i heard that hedgehogs and snakes are WORST ENNEMIES!!!!!!!

  • @ComicGirl339

    Snakes are the worse enemys

    of most small animals

  • @ComicGirl339 Tell that to the guys in Smash Bro. Brawl.

  • @Jadandlud tell them what? that hedgehogs hate snakes????

  • is that a snake

  • omg its so cute, I want one.

  • thats so cool.

  • this is too cute. I just got a hedgehog several days ago, and he is just learning to trust me. Seeing this video gives me hope that we can play like this one of these days!!! Thanks for posting.

  • its all like RAWR b**** I got u now !

  • this is how sonic got his fighting skills

  • LMFAO!!!

  • It's better than a cat!

  • I live in Canada and they sell in a pet store near me for less than 100 bucks, plus you can get their food made only for them right off of the shelf (nutrition pellets). They do eat meal worms though, mostly when they are older. So yea its not too uncommon to find one here.

  • i thought it would roll into a ball lol

  • Where can you buy hegdehogs'?

  • @qubo007 Generally, you get one from a breeder. They're illegal in seven states and several countries. They're also available as rescues or from a pet store (which is not recommended). Keep in mind that they can be pricey to take care of, and might not warm up to you.

  • @qubo007 mines likes to sleep alot, cost me 220 in total, sort of regret buying it because shes not very active.

  • HOLY CRAP!!! 220 DOLLARZZZZ???

  • its not alot of money when u have a job, lol

  • @audiocable for ONE hedgehog it is

  • She's nocturnal :) Just wake her up during the day so you can play, or set aside some time around dinner to play with her. If she is also inactive during the night that's a different story.

  • shes lazy in general, and very fat, even at night she does not want to play, when i put her on he floor all she wants to do is run under my pants and hide.

il have to post a vid

  • I wonder if maybe she's just really cold? I keep mine in a room that's always at least 72 and the heat is always on, heat or lack of heat is usually the main reason why hedgies display odd behavior, or if the environment is loud, or has lots of different perfumes, smells, if it's near a kitchen, etc. Heat is usually the first thing, if the heat is fine, then it could be the other things, noise/smells, etc.

  • he looks mighty big for a hedgehog... what on earth were you feeding that guy?!

  • those r 12in, tiles its normal size

  • @dylbopper oh ok it just looks bigger than all the other hedgies i've seen

  • @155chipmunkz Steroids. 's why he's so angry. He's all 'roided up and whatnot. Or he could just be big.

    ...I like my idea better.

  • ha ha hes trying to pull the string while keeping his balance

  • Dammnnn....What a ferocious power....This guy is a BEAST..Tremendous,vicious...:PPP

    This little guy just rocks..

  • he's all like "grrrr...grrrr.... must beat up snake! grrrrr..... lol

  • Tanked that snake XD

  • Well, you learn something new every day. I had no idea hedgehogs were so... hardcore!

  • very cute

  • oh noes so cutee!!!!! Like a puppy but cuter omw!

  • aw bless. hes a right little fighter. feisty too.

  • you have a very cute little guy

  • Thank you

  • What a fiesty lil hedgie!

  • @Sephiroth21682: You would be surprised, they have been known to chase down/eat mice from time to time.

@jaredkc14: Every pet store I have ever been in uses cedar shavings as bedding. There are a few studies linking the shavings to liver complications, but nothing is definite. Having said that, i use recycled newspaper eco-bedding, mostly because it does not hold dust + won't trigger any allergies.

  • wow, i didnt think they were this energetic.

  • are u from wcs azeroth

  • I have a WoW account, but I dont play on that server.

  • jajajajajajaja cool

  • funny 5 *****

  • ive never tried tug of war with mine ill have to try that

  • thats just scary

  • Pine and cedar bedding is toxic for animals.i would use aspen or newspaper for bedding

  • Does he get along with the dog?

  • Yes he does very well

  • @BelieveeTheTruth lol i have a lab who runs away from my hedgie she got a quill in her nose the day they met never talked again.

  • if i get a hedgehog will he bite me like that?

  • Nope, they only attack their toys lol

  • ok i think i might want one now

  • haha it looks like a fatty but adorable quilled chihuahua... at least to me lol

  • Hahaha. Mine loves tug of war but he only ever wants to play it with my socks. While I'm wearing them. :/

  • Sooooo cool. I am definitely getting a hedgehog in the new year. Best critter ever!

  • I want a Sonic the Hedgehog of my own!

  • Video Info:"Hedgehogs are known to attack snakes 20 times theyr size in the wild, theyr protective blanket of spines makes a snake bite almost impossible, also they have a natural defense against snake venom."

    HEDGEHOGS ARE BADASS!!!!!11!!

  • i am now officially loving hedgehogs

  • KILL IT HEGGY
