What I like about this presentation is that they actually dance together as a couple. I've seen many presentations where the people just dance around each other, almost without any contact.
And I love that you can make out the rhythm of the chacha - again I've seen lots of choreographies where the characteristic "chachacha"-movement got totally lost among all the special figures and poses presented.
So - yes, that's a very nice choreography and a very nicely presented one as well! ^_^
this is world class act...the best, maybe not but very very high class...my fav is still michael malotosky and Joanna Leunis of Poland and Americans, Cheryl Burke and Benjie Schwimmer
haha omg. they are probably the only couple where the upperpart of the body is connected to the whole body - where every thing is one unit - everything moves together - everything connected. If you cant see it, then you are just ignorant and stupid.. :) Cause that is kind the most important thing they teach. the connection through the whole body
They for sure have great musicality and of course anyone can interpert cha cha however they want. But currently, that does not work for cha cha. Its expected to be sharper and a bit more outgoing. Still its great dancing
Every man has his own interpretation of the cha cha. Personally i love this because they have such exquisite musicality. Watch again, listen to the music and watch the routine. Everything goes together as if they knew the music prior to the performance. That is talent. Additionally, different songs give different feelings, not necessarily emotions, like this, hence this cha cha doesn't call for that much sharpness, its more relaxed.
@swidanza I strongly agree with you. Nowadays international ballroom dancing (now dancesport) has become too technical at the cost of musicality. Originally, dancing was about round motion shaped by the music. Instead, too much sharpness in movement gives the dance a mechanized quality, almost artificial. Your comments are right on the nail!
It seems that blasteringh is such as a Klaus and Victoria hater. Seriously, why do you watch their vides to dampen the mood. Their chacha is good because a) the steps are clean and their movement has a lot of clarity b)it conveys the mood of chacha well, as the dance is cheeky and flirty. Chacha isn't about sharpness, so stop watching their videos if you dislike them....
Haha, Cha cha is about sharpness even though it's meant to be a cheeky dance. Look and Joanna leunis and Yulia, look at their cha cha action! I don't dislike this couple it's just they don't compare to any of the top contenders, that's why they are always 2nd place and not 1st. People have opinions and you can't tell people what to watch, it's their choice. Her technique is good, but she's too soft in the legs. My opinion, respect that.
I think there's something you missunderstood. Of course you have to have sharp leg actions and consistant hip action - but you can still be soft doing both! Look at victoria and klaus. Their leg actions are sharp, the hip actions are nice and they are in fully in control of what they are doing. But they still have a softer approach to their cha cha than other couples. The cha cha isn't about who can grind their foot in the ground the hardest (as typo46 mention) it's about being chick and flirty
They did the Denmark version of Strictly Dancing, missed some comps. so perhaps they decided it was too hard to train at the top again. They were probably also making more money. Victoria also opened her own dance school.
I absolutly love the softness in their cha cha. The Cha Cha Cha has nowadays become a very intense and wild dance. No doubt it can look very nice, but often I miss some of the softness the originally was ment for this dance. So "DanceSportF" when you say "too soft" I would disagree ;) Klaus and Victoria are a very talented couple :) I'm sure you will agree, but the softness is a plus from my point of view :)
i totally agree cha cha is suposed to be light, cheeky and flirtatious...but it has just gotten like a fight between partners now each person seemingly truing to grind his foot in the ground harder than the other. So i see ur point
simply amazing. this is something that all dancers should be inspired of. i totally like the routine. very precised and full of fun.

Anyone knows what happened to Klaus and Victoria after they split in 2007?...
R they still dancing with other partner?...
D3A2N6I4E3L5 2 years ago
They both teach and give lectures in a place called KAF near Copenhagen here in Denmark :)
They do not compete anymore - sadly! They were (and still are) perfect for each other.

The use of arms is just untalented. Upper part of body is so stiff as if it was a boxer.

I agree with you. Just take a look at 1:29-1:30. Perfect musicality!

this doesn't look like a competition routine... it seems like a show dance (its more than 130) so they must have known the music before hand

Cha cha isn't about softness.
It's about the sharp leg action with consistant hip action and straight les. If it was soft, then it would look nothin' like cha cha, mainly rumba.
