my ball python would do this quite often. but never after feeding. i believe it is a yawn. after owning snakes you realize they have some really mellow personalitys every one is different. man it must have taken some patience to get this shot good job. freaked the hell out of me the first time i saw him do it.

very wrong... they gape when pissed, but that is just a slight opening of the mouth and more hissing... that was definitely a yawn/jaw-adjustment... they tend to do it a lot when about to shed to get the skin on the head loosened... i have 2 rtb's, check out my vids!

They also "yawn" to adjust their jaw after feeding (as seen in my video), but as already said by the owner, this was 3 days after feeding.

During the digesting of the meal is when the gases build up so it would be days after eating & the meal fully digested.

It's called "venting". Usually they do it after a meal to release gases built up. Snakes don't fart.
