Just for the record, the website religioustolerance(dot)org is NOT a reliable source for information about the Church of Scientology. Almost all of the supposedly "impartial" information about Scientology on that site is written by Al Buttnor, a head of Public Relations for Scientology, or taken from the CoS's own website.
Compare the way the website treats the controversies of the Mormon church vs those of Scientology. Total bias.
@NarkAnon The Church of Scientology used the age old tactic of filing thousands of 10,000 page lawsuits against their enemies to silence them. Unless their enemy is very wealthy, they won't even be able to afford to hire the lawyers needed to merely read the text of the lawsuits much less defend themselves. Much like they did with the Cult Awareness Network. Eventually CAN had no alternative but to settle out of court and basically cede their site and name to the Cult of Scientology.
Jim Jones was an apostolic communist. I would say his beliefs were once rooted in some god concept which combined totalitarian socialism with christianity but as it always is with cults of personality even "God himself" is dismissed as a false "God." After all "God" would be a rival and threat to the power of someone like Jim Jones. Eventually the personality assumes the role of God.
As you believe of course but please never drink anything they give you in a mass group.
PS. Why so many suicides in Scientology? Go check it out on whyaretheydead. Why so many people in Scientology want to kill themselves? So currently xemutv is correct no mass suicide yet but over time allot of unexplained deaths and suicides.
Xemutv, there has never been a mass suicide YET. I think Gold Base has that potential.
People are starting to panic and get desperate, and they are getting squeezed under David Miscavige's rein....Jonestown and WACO are very much possible for Gold Base.
have you seen the steven fishman affidavit..in one of the section of the interview you will him say, that they told him to self terminate. It may not be like Jim Jones, but do you see that it delivers the same message. Ok, I took this text from a website that is posted on the description, not my own words. Don't they have RPF CAMPS in Scientology... doesn't it seem kind of similar.
They may not commit MASS suicide but they do make them commit SUICIDE, some to shut them up or some of the poor souls that want to get out but can't and that is the only option.
If people 'love' Scientology so much why are some running out the door, especially the ones that been there for 20+ years and why are they hiding, I never hid when I left my church. There is something wrong with that place its a CULT. ( will not call it a church because its not)
I am not a scientologist. Do you understand the message in this text, that I took from the internet. How someone can lead people to do shit, and how similar it is keeping people inside their camps and not letting them go. It's a simple question... looks like you didn't get the message.
Wow and here Scientology says the Church (Christians, Catholics, Muslims, etc) are all to blame about everything negative, but they say they are all religions........WOW!
Good analysis. The strange difference between what Jones did and what Flubbard did, was that Jones' original ministry actually had social justice underpinnings. Flubbard, on the other hand never pretended that his "belief set" was for anything other than their own benefit. Yes they want to clear the planet for "the greatest number of dynamics," but the "dynamics" are chosen to benefit $cientologists not social justice. Miscavige = Jim Jones is a frighteningly real comparison.
Jim Jones is gay

scientology is a dangerous, brain washing, money grabbing, criminally convicted UFO cult!

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Scientology is nothing like the jim jones cult.
Number 1.
There have been and never will be a mass suicide in Scientology.
Number 2.
Jim Jones was a christian!
Self Sacrifice stems from Christianity and Islam.

Its as if you want there to be a mass suicide.

Xemutv, you said: "It's as if I want a mass suicide?"
People fight Scientology to SAVE lives. Unlike yourself that supports a cult that has many deaths on its hands.
The last thing anyone wants is more deaths or abuse at the hands of this cult.
Xemutv has a serioulsy warped way of looking at things. Wonder why?
Xemutv just proved again just how warped someone's thinking can become if they are involved with this cult.
Xemutv I hope you find the help you need and leave Scientology.

Scientology is the practice and beliefs.
This says nothing about taking ones life.
You will find that in the bible and quran.
It is the people in the church that behave in a negative manner and not all Scientologists are like that.
The mass suicide in the Jim Jones cult was done because they believed they were going on to Heaven.
Just like Heavens Gate cult.
Scientology is nothing like Christianity or Islam.

Scientology is not like the Jim Jones cult.
Members were not stranded in the middle of nowhere.
Scientology has not committed MASS SUICIDE.
Scientology is not linked to the Abrahamic religions such as Islam and Christianity.
Jim Jones is more like Heavens Gate.
Scientologists are told to enjoy life not sacrifice it.
Shows that you cant always rely on the internet to get your MESSAGE across!
xemutv 3 years ago
@xemutv I agree with this guy. Research Heaven's Gate, and you'll see why it's much like it. One man's craziness and belief causes unnecessary death.
