  • galsuno mehu baba

  • This is great! I live in a very small community and the market is owned by a Punjabi family. I've been learning a few words and phrases from the owner. Her mother and father do not speak English at all and I like to surprise them by saying "Good day" or "nice weather today" in Punjabi. Now I'll surprise their daughter!

  • so difficult

  • Thank you for doing this.

I have a Punjabi son - inlaw and they will soon be having a baby so I would like to learn some Punjabi because I think it is important for my grandchild to learn the language of it's father. It would be nice to be able to speak some Punjabi with my grandchild and son - inlaw.

  • Awesome Vid :D, I have been trying to learn Punjabi for a while now but never really had anyway to do it, your videos make it really easy to learn phrases :). Thanks X

  • the punjabi he speak is doabi or pawadhi

you know punjabi also got dialects so plz dont say this that anybody is wrong maybe he is a sikh living in foreign country and learned punjabi from parents ????

    :/

  • Thoo hada

  • Can anyone help me? I really need to translate something, i'm not 100% sure what kind of language it is, but i know it's either Hindi or Punjabi, thanks! please reply :)

  • You make it very easy to learn....would love to see more of your videos! Also just ignore the sheltered idiots on here that have no knowledge on other cultures. They don't understand that all they are doing is making a fool of themselves.

  • @cvhgx fuck you ass hole. I know his name is hardeep

  • @4lifebloods gtfo bitch

  • you need to speak up!

  • thank u so much. i m so eager to learn punjabi

  • Hey will you please put more videos up....i know this video was done a year ago but it would really help if you could put more punjabi up..maybe on having a punjabi conversation...thank you....

  • is ur name actually hardeep??

  • For everyone saying its wrong actually he is right , there are muslim versions of saying Punjab and sickh

  • veer ji it's a good effort, but i think you are using some colloquialism in your phrases, for example most ppl say "ki haal aa", "ki haal ya" or "ki haal ay".... but all these forms are derived from the standard version of Punjabi, which is "Ki Haal Hai"

the word "Hai" (is) is shortened in speech, and the "H" sound is normally dropped

you should try to use the standard textbook Punjabi, which is taught to non-speakers so that ppl don't get confused

  • It's most definitely Sat Sri Akal.

  • @garfieldmofo thats more formal but now they jsut say sat sri kal

  • wht the fuk it is sat sri akal u fag...

  • @asingh2089 what was the point in swearing?

  • I am Punjabi and this is more like Urdu and plus some of them are incorrect. For example you say 'Thuada Key naam hai' for what is your name? Infact It should be saying, 'Thara Keh na hai'

  • thanks a lot !!! my fiance is a punjabi i wanted to learn punjabi and to surprise him :)

  • Thank you! I'm trying to learn Punjabi so my friends that speak Punjabi don't have to speak only English with me.

  • Great, thanks :)

  • Awww such a sweet voice n fnkxx alot:)

  • O Bhai sahab ji, your video is okay no problem, but one of the main word in punjab that i used when punjabi's greet each other that is " Sat Shri Akaal " which have the follwing mean as ' SAT ' stands for 'truth' - ' Shri ' stands for ' great ' and ' Akaal ' stands for ' lord '. And to this great word of greet you have pronunced it wrongly as " sas ree kal " so i advise you to please correct it veer ji. As it does not make the actuall sense as the word should made.

  • ye jo punjabi tum sika rahe ho agar yahi punjabi pakistan mai bolo tho bohut mar pari gi hehehehehe btw i think more then 80% punjabi live in pakistani punjab.

zaban sikari ay thay phir theek sika nai thay apri essi punjabi wich wad ... tu ay wikana chahda ay k punjabi sikha di zabaa ay

i m not punjabi n to b honest i dont like punjabi language because this language is full of gali galooch { whatever i speak this } but this is very wrong tht u try to miss guide ppls

  • @zo0mmax It doesn't matter if more Punjabis live in Pakistani Punjab than Indian Punjab, but the question is Do they speak Punjabi?

Punjabi would've been dead long ago had it been solely the language of Pakistani Punjab. Please educate your own people first to adopt their native tongue instead of a 'foreign' language like Urdu.

  • @DreamerCran just ignore him, he obviously has no idea what he's talking about... being a Pakistani guy myself there are a lot of ppl on the pakistani side who do speak the language and there is a lot of respect for the Sufiana Kalaam (Poetry of the Sufi Saints) ..... but at the same time there are some who look down on the language and prefer to replace it with urdu which i think is totally ridiculous... at the very least, it should be made an official language

  • @maxxpunjabi007 Ok bro. Actually we're one people , and our land is One (though divided by petty politics) including our language, only difference being the religious greetings. I think this is what the other guy was hinting at, however agreed, that was a poor comment . There's swearing in every world language.

  • @zo0mmax excuse me MATE.... ur ignorance is worth laughing at..... urdu / hindi also have their fair share of swears and profanity, same applies to english and other languages....WHY do ppl have this issue with Punjabi? seriously man... Punjabi is a LANGUAGE and there are many dialects throughout the region... and what nonsense is this that if he spoke like this in Pakistan he'd get abused for it... it's becoz of ppl like U that Pakistan gets a bad image... and i happen to be Pakistani myself

  • your great voice made me laugh abit but really good.. thankyou

  • Thanks for these lessons....Can you add some more???

  • lol awesome accent.

    u need ur own movie.

  • I'm fine can be vadia?

  • You are amazing. i am dying to learn punjabi. thanks so much.

  • thank you so much........

  • would you like upgradings

  • hi could you please out more videos on as you have taught me alot but would love to learn more thanks xx

  • DUMB ASS nxt tym u teach punjabi to sum1 ..atleast learn how the punjabi say hello...its SAT SRI AKAAL not sas ree kal...respect the sikh greeting or fuck off..

  • @bhunji23

you are not getting it. yes the greeting is 'sat sri akal' but the guy here has written phrases incl. greetings like how they would be pronounced. some really pronounce it as sas ree kal or other variations.

  • @DreamerCran ok maybe its not his fault, its just our ppl's dumb pronounciation!!.lol

  • @bhunji23 Its Sat Shri Akal , but everyone pernounces there own way. When I'm talking fast, it sounds like sat sri akal

  • @bhunji23 way to cuss while using religious words just go cuss at the gurus why dont you? stupid

  • Thank you punjabis

  • thank you so much ! I live in Vancouver and I have a lot of Pujabi coworkers so I will surprise them from now on. greetings from Vancouver BC Canada from Zuky

  • punjup is easy but i think the indian language is hindi or ?

  • @pinkiponggirl

hindi is just one of the many indian languages.

  • thanks for the videos! I'm going to Punjabi soon, and i barely speak it!

  • Even I'm not punjabi an I know SatShriAkal

  • FANTASTIC!

  • and more punjabis lives in pak than india, pakistani punjabiz are 76,335,300 and indian punjabiz are 29,102,477

  • hello mean in punjabi is not satsirikal, its also hello or paa g or pain g

  • thanks a lot paajii =)

  • I'm a wedding photographer and don't know punjabi, thanks for this :D

  • so simple and easy. thank you for taking the time to do this!!!

  • This is a good video. he has written the romanization like how it is pronounced, including the greeting, some pronounce it like this, while others say formally 'sat sri akal' . so i don't know what the issue is with some people. Another thing, there are all kinds of variations in punjabi, like i would say 'ki haal hai' . and he says 'ki haal aww pronounced 'ki haal aa' . thanks for the wonderful video.

  • Thank you for this video. This will come in handy at work!

  • should use proper grammar instead of using slang. Layman doesn't understand slangs.

  • great khali!!

  • Great job!

  • its not sas ree kal != its

    Sat Shri Akal !

  • thanks

  • im 14 and really want to move to india! so this really helped alot :) thanks!

  • it is not like that you said,....

    it is not ...

    sas - ree - kal

    its

    sat - sri - akal

    other wise welldone man!!!

but next time take some guiding from your family or friends...!!

    well done keep it up....

  • your voice sooths me

  • dude, it's sat-sree-akaal, not sas-ree-kal! What is sas-ree-kal? Sas-ree-kal is how little kids mispronounce it! Sas=mother-in-law. Ree=? kal=?

  • i dont know why but u sound so un- punjabi :)

  • You know even if the spelling isn't 100% or anything, it is helpful for pronunciation when I need to know how a word sounds when my husband isn't around.

And I think it's horrible how people trash talk the Punjabi language. I find it really neat and I would like it even if I weren't married to a Punjabi man.

  • @saadkhanuk I would agree this isn't the best punjabi video because of pronunciation and word choice. Aside from that...what is your problem? I find it funny how someone who obviously isn't Punjabi would have such hatred towards the language. haha you don't have to speak it. Every language has "dirty" words, even urdu. okay! :)

  • Thank you so much for these videos, I've been trying to learn basic Punjabi for months now, and with your help I'm starting to make some progress! Please post some more videos!

  • mujhay urdu tou ati hai magar thori se punjabi bhi ati hai lolz

  • thank u so much fr the info m gtn married to a punjabi n m of dfrt race n so much willing to learn xoxo

  • Thanks for doing this there aren't many tutorials on how to speak punjabi on youtube. Please keep it up ^_^

  • Dude... first u learn the basic stuff...

    HELLO .. it's nt sas-ree-kal.... as u said

it is SAT-SRI-AKAL (Sat, "truth," Sri, an honorific, Akal, a term for God).

    plz dont pass wrong info..

  • You're awesome! I'm trying to learn how to say "I love you" in Punjabi. Is there any chance you'll get it in a video before February 14th?

  • This is great! I'm trying to learn punjabi at the moment, and these videos are helping! Keep it up!

  • Tera naam kee aww? Mera naam hardeep aww or mera naam hardeep hai or mera naam hardeep aay. I don't know if you have lived in Punjab but I have lived in Jalandhar for 20 years and Chandigarh for another 5 years and that's how people speak Punjabi. Aww, Hai or Aay are regional accents to say the same thing - which is basically translation of "be" or the "is" form in English. You can not write this sentence without using the verb. It's like saying "My name Hardeep" - there is no "is" !

  • Good effort !! Here is a small correction "My name is Hardeep" = "Mera naam hardeep HAI" .... Keep it up :)

  • thanks i know my bf will appreciate me tring to lean lol

  • thank you...very much ., now I am going to try on my friends and see how I get on...looking forward to viewing all of them

  • Thank you Hardeep. I have been to punjab and want to go there again. Your videos are helpful. :) I was wondering if you can add punjabi in them..the real alphabets, so i can learn to write as well. Your videos are awesome. keep on doing more punjabi phrases. Youre a great teacher.

  • i thought my paki and indian friend said how are you is ke se ho

  • that is in Hindi-Urdu(they are same languages except written differently)

  • @aryowailangitoyo97 Thats in hindi and urdu. Punjabi is not the same.

  • i cant hear yoooou !!

  • Thank you so much for these lessons! :)

  • very helpful..thnx

  • i want some learn some basic punjabi so this was very useful! thank you!

  • @th288588 im sure your husband will be surprised if you ask him what his name is!

  • @midihendrix I'm not sure I understand you, are you saying I should surprise him by asking him what his name means in English?

  • @th288588 Heyyy, My husband is from Patiala too :) I'm trying to learn too. :D

  • @c13diz Hi i'm th288588 :) ThatsCOOL ur husband is from Patiala also!! So far its been kinda hard to find a Punjabi lesson program online and this HERE has taught me the most :)
