Jesus rose from the dead after 3 days (and some call that sacrifice!). This boy didn't.

God killed tons of people. This man didn't.

God saw the death of his son coming (He basically hang him there). This man didn't.

@UnitedStatesOfAm2008 Since god supposedly is the author of everything, he's definitely guilty. He created everything KNOWING it could not meet his ridiculous standards, also created by himself.

And why a blood sacrifice? The only one demanding a blood sacrifice is god himself, since he makes up the rules. This is disturbing. Just as disturbing that you find it an act of love.

@SachaGoed Have you read the bible? In the beginning, God made everything that he saw was good. That didn't stay for long because man had made a sin, which God made a punishment by death. You and I make a sin, it's our choices, not God's. This is why we going to die. That doesn't mean God is guilty cuz we make our own choices. But God wanted to save us because he loves us, which he decided through the blood of his own son. This is similar to this film.

God created everything, he saw it was good, but later it wasn't good. Since god knew this would happen, it couldn't be good in the first place. This the problem with an omniscient and omnipotent god. He created us with flaws, knowing we would break his ridiculous rules, and punishes us with death. How loving.

People like you say it's our choice, that we have free will. But if the penalty is death, it's not free will. And definitely not love.

@SachaGoed Yeah I read the Bible. God is punishing those who sins, ok? Not those that are good. Those that have faith and repent, they will live in eternity. Love is what we have after death dude. You have to die no matter what, but where you go after that is what the situation is.

That's the problem with your god and religion. A person who leads a good life won't find salvation if they don't believe your fairytale religion. So it has nothing to do with being good, but only with accepting this nonsense.

Your claims are not only ridiculous, they're based on nothing more than faith. Mere believe without evidence.

What bothers me most is that you people speak of knowledge and facts when talking about your religion. I'm tired of the claims that can only be backed up by some passages from a book, appeals to emotion and other logical fallacies. These are NOT proof or evidence.

@UnitedStatesOfAm2008 I hope they didn't teach you about Moses and Abraham in History class, but just in Religion class. One is about facts, the other is about myths and culture. It would be sad, dishonest and against any teacher's ethic if religion is taught as fact. We don't take facts from single sources. For that same reason we don't teach the Kuran as fact.

Proof according to biased creationists is still not real scientific demonstrable proof. If there was REAL proof about Yahweh being god and Jesus being savior, people wouldn't just believe, they would KNOW. Though you like to pretend you have the knowledge and the facts, all you really have is the bible (nothing but hearsay) and faith (nothing but believe).

I meant in general. As in, according to christianity, if you (or any person) doesn't accept Jesus as savior, you (or that person) will go to hell. Some believers might disagree, but it's the dominant thought.

I myself reject all these claims, because they don't meet the burden of proof. I wouldn't even say that IF there was a hell, there must be a heaven.

I haven't seen the movie, but the concept of drawing this sort of parallel is great. God, in an expression of his love for us, truly did sacrifice for us. To think of the grief this man faces in sacrificing his son may bring us a little closer to comprehend God's grief for sacrificing his son, and then necessarily his love for us which was expressed through that sacrifice.

I'm going to try to find where I can see this movie. Any suggestions?

Did you know that the scripture itself says that God inspired man to write it? But if you just look at life around you-nature science, you see that there is Intelligent Design. What conclusion can you draw from this? There is physical evidence that has been found that persons living when the Bible was written did exist such as King David. This movie is not good mataphora of Jesus sacrifice! Because God didn't kill his son, Jesus is not son of God, Jesus IS God. Jesus is Son of Father, but God as well as Father and Holy Spirit. God (Jesus) gave his life to buy-uot all our sins, but he resuscitated (arised) and he is alive now and forever! He could stop his death but he didn't - so we call that altruistic suicide and that's very brave and holy act.
