Trash Picked 1991 Murray 20 Inch Lawnmower Fixed

i got the same mower but a 93,,,,,,it dies out after a three to four minutes....cleaned carb,,,changed diaphram,,,what could it be?????  help?

@ltlieu61 maybe gas cap is not venting, next time it dies, try removing the cap, replacing it, then try again, if it runs and dies again after 4 minutes you know thats what it is.

I have the same mower and it looks like crap and its old but it starts and runs great!

my 2003 murray was doing that but the diaphram did not have a wrinkle in it. i think the spring was in the wrong place bacause i just moved the spring in there a little bit then i put it back together and then it ran perfect.

I do repairs on lawn equipment out of my house and a guy gave me one of these for free with a broken starter rope in it. Have yet to fix it though.

doesn't sound to good kinda like its been ran low on oil or the oil is old as the lawn mower.

can you please tell me where to get the black piece next to the side discharge? my 93 i just fixed is missing that piece! or can you tell me what it is called? would be a waste to spend 30 bucks on such an old mower. :( I hope it is attainable.

ohh me gosh wheni got my mower it did the same thing, put put put throwing smoke everywhere. fixed it by watching daves vid.

i have the 2003 version of this except its a bager, mulch. bagger wprks great but i doesnt mulch to good. ohh and nice murray

It just so happened he had videos of both of my mowers.

The Eagle 1 Tecumseh had a clogged tiny hole in the bowl screw and the Brigg's just needed to be tipped on it's nose a few times to get fuel.

Your idle is pretty high for that throttle position.

Might need to adjust the linkage.

hey i have the classic 1997 whith the bag but it is rip mower has bad recoil even thath it has a bad diaprame it starts first pull always i love those briggs and stratton

I made that fix with the diaphram under the carb too, but I can't figure out how to hook up the springs onthe throttle valve. Do you have a high res picture of how it goes back toghether? There's a big spring and a little spring and I can't remember which attachees where. Thanks!

Hey buddy. I trash picked a Briggs mower today. Its a quamtam 35.

So far i can see a couple things i need to fix, one being the brake cable. You know the one running off that bar you had vice grips on in this vid.

Trouble is , i dont know where it connects underneath. It was pulled out.

it connects to a little lever on a brake underneath the shroud by the flywheel.
