The vid is alright. BUT, speeding wasn't his problem. His problem was NOT LOOKING FIRST. I've been doing double the speed limit every single day for the last 13 years. And as long as you use some "common" sense. You should be alright. Speed doesn't kill, stupidity does.

Down here it's like the legal driving age is four, and the level of road-safety doesn't increase with age.

I agree though, I wouldn't care for speed limits, as long as you know what you're actually doing, and I know for a fact that around 80% of Thais down here don't.

I've done a minimum of double....and a maximum of 7 times the speed limit about every single day....for the last 12 years. There are times when you can speed and times when you can't. It's about common sense. Also they found that if speed limits are raised....then accidents on that road usually go down. But they don't raise speed limits because they create revenue in the form of speeding tickets.

When speed increases the amount of damage increases and the reaction time is lowered - I mean, look at the Irish "The Faster the Speed, the Bigger the Mess" campaign on YouTube - that was ALL about excess speed

Well, you can't expect everyone on the road to be smart can you? You just need one driver to screw the road with your life at stake. I've seen friends who drift get into accidents because some guy did a bend too slow.

Besides, where you live is another problem. I suppose if you speed at like 200km/h in some Alaska countryside no one would really care. If it's some city area then yes, it would make a difference.
