Well it's this ridiculous mentality that quick cuts from thousands of angles + booming sound effects = More exciting fight scene.

To me that just points to hiding mistakes and/or saving money.

It's like with Transformers, they looked really great visually, but the fight scenes were ridiculous messes of metal flying everywhere.

Oh absolutely, and the thing is that Jason is fully capable of handling an awesome technical fight scene. It's pointless to hold back talent. Undisputed 2 had the right idea, and not a single Kung-fu riddled Chinaman in sight, all European/ Western experts.

And I'm not even going to get into Flashpoint... Jesus...

Flashpoint was ok, I enjoyed SPL much better though, had a better flow and made submission grappling actually exciting on the screen. FlashPoint over did it by just showcasing almost every submission hold on one fighter and they'd still keep coming.

I'm still waiting for a film for someone to pull guard and the opponent trying to pass it for 5 minutes lol.

My main 2 gripes with American style 'martial arts' style fights i that for a while they have followed the same dry formulas, in that they'll throw lots of haymakers, highkicks and then throw in some spinning back kicks, kip-ups, backflips and so fourth.

The second being people will have literally have no head movement yet never get hit in the face and it's very very noticeable.

Back to the fight at hand, Schilt is a BEAST and a great technical fighter in the ring, yet they just went with a total cliched scenario where he just stands there, gets hit and doesn't react.

Jason definitely has the ability in what could have been a far more aesthetically and technically pleasing matchup.
