  • This guy is absolutely fucking retarded, what is wrong with you people? He blocks people if you criticize Alexander and he's an absolute cunt. Fuck him.

  • it is kind of ironic that your name is prince of macedon and u r fighting against the macedonians in this battle

  • i can't believe people talk such trash about you and are disrespectful maybe its because they have nothing productive to do.

  • im rick james bitch!

  • You know, i've noticed this about your battles. It seems you always deploy less men than your opponent, yet you always come out on top...if Alexander The Great were still alive, I think he would grant you the honor of being one of his tactical advisers.

  • is there any difference between the 4 roman factions

  • @mastercommando36 yes, the color and there gladiators ( there are 4 roman factions but 3 gladiators )

  • @looper7853 Great battle , Macedonia for Macedonians !

  • @mastercommando36 the gladiator units are different

  • can you please make mor tw vids plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • @BrockTheRockTv Well he uploads like a video per 2 days...

  • why you use so weak units...where is praetorinas, urbans and legionnaires...

  • @alexaa992 Man... listen to POM. In the video he says he is using a pre-marian army.

  • Wow Beautiful ownage with pre-marians.

  • you my friend are amazing at this game !! keep it up pal xD

  • i didnt know tht roman archers werent pre marian

  • @LewisTee08 rome did use archers before marius, its just that at that time the bow was so much more ineffective then the sling or a javelin that rome did not use them very frequently at all.

  • dude i love your vids

  • Now this is one of the few battles where the handicap is really bad. Hard fight.

  • wow, good playing

  • Why is it a "Polybian" army. Are we talking Polybius the historian? Why not call it a Livy army instead?

    Surely it should be pre-marian?

  • have you ever lost a battle lmao:D

  • you opponent didnt move his phalanx to top of the hill immidiately that would had been helped him alot

  • You always use different names?

    Great battle btw :)

  • you are a so cool i am getting a lap top my self with rome total war because of you and maybe one day you will do a team battle with me =>

  • i dont know how u win

but post one of ur deafet

  • @KingAlfonso100 hes done that many times, dont comment with a pointless comment like that unless you've watched everyvid.

  • this is just wicked

  • will u fight me online on rtw?

  • @SuperDking12 he doesnt "schedule" battles

  • nice battle Prince I just found my old CD key and am going to reinstall see you online most likely be using Parthia

  • your sick

  • why do you change your name every battle?

  • Nice name : P rikjames. Looks like he wasnt able to fuck your couch XD

  • At 3:10 Look down in the midlle at the one Princepes that is Charging! That guy should get a medal :D

  • Well fought.

  • hey prince do you know why romans use whistles in battle

  • @bachiboy18

they used it sometimes to get the attention of the lower rank troops so that they could give them orders

  • @bachiboy18 They used the whistles to signal the change of the line. The roman infantary were formed in lines. One man behind the other. And when the whistle went the man in the front went in between the lines and moved all the way back while the second men in line took up the fight with the same enemy.

This is one reason why the Romans were so victorious in their wars against barbarians. One single barbarian had to fight with atleast 4-5 romans before he got tired and got killed by the sixth.

  • Did early period roman army had no archers? i dont believe

  • @LINAZAS i think they had

  • why did you not use archers i'm new but polithtian army why is it not archers in it

  • I haven't played this game in awhile but I'm pretty sure Triarii can fight with a sword if you hit the alt key. They basically become Pricipes when you do that which can make them good for dealing with infantry.

  • I like the historically themed battles, but they are hard to get other players to agree to.

  • I want to see you lose at some point :D

  • is it possible to beat you prince

  • at 2:39 Triarii[Spearmen]Fighting-Defeat is almost a certainty

now they are fighting companions and they should be anticavalry units yet defeat is certain...WTF?!?!?

  • @adastea You need to take upgrades + exhaustion level into consideration.

  • Hahaha I'm rick james bitch! :P

Actually the coolest battle for a while, whilst i was originally fascinated by ETW (and still am, probs cos my computer cant take it) I think ur RTW vids are the best. Are you going to try NTW?

  • That's interesting. It might well be the closest the game system will allow to a reproduction of the Battle of Cynocephalae (I think that's how it's spelled).

  • why has this only just shown up on my subscription panel ^.^

    ahhh another good battle mate!

  • at the end of the battle there are always standing the battle statics, but i always see a other name, instead of Prince of Macedon, Why?

  • @nlblood

idiot... PoM cannot be bothered with the amount of people who use his name... and he doesn't want to cause so much attention...

  • What exactly is the Plebian supposed to be?

  • A lower class Roman citizen. That doesn't necessarily mean they were poor though, although the majority were. There were some plebians who were very wealthy, comparable to some of the Patricians. However, they were considered lower-class because they didn't have "noble birth"

  • i know you fucking retard, i was asking what the army was supposed to be.

  • Hey, hey, no need for hostility. I answered your question, maybe you should be more specific so you can get an answer you're looking for. Don't get mad because you can't form questions properly.

And yes, the army was predominately Plebian, while Patricians were generally military leaders.

  • Hello Prince, if you read this post a im a fan watched alot of your battles, I'd like to see more Medevial total war battles because thats the game im on mostly now cuz my PC cant support Empire<fail, but yea I found this battle to be really enlightning. I never would of thought you'd win with such a relatively weak army, and you even charged elite phalax troops directed, impressive lol. So yea this was a good battle and maybe ill see you online Medevial or Rome.

  • @gustino312

Roman Legions (even early ones) can stand up to them pikes... though they do need support... which is what prince gave them :P

  • triarii are very effective against phalanxes just move him into the side or rear of the phalanx what i do is break my oponents army up by baiting them with light calv

  • This video is very cool.

  • lol every clan hates pom, only cause there jelous, i have clan though im my only memeber LOL my name is

}|{NaVi}|{_AVATAR lol lol lol lol i know my name is gay....

  • Lol, Goodfty I saw you online yesterday. I was TitusPullo if you noticed me :)

  • avatar is a pretty good movie

  • Well done! :)

  • actually one archer type was pre-marian

  • @alematt Yes but historically the romans did not use large numbers of archers in polybian armies, they preferred to fight with javelins and swords. The game just has those archers to make the romans more kick-ass.

  • Kinda an opposite battle for you, eh Prince?

  • so Velites were not used?

  • @Pizza23333 did you see any velites? I didn't see any.

Would you like to see some? Go watch my OTHER videos where I use Velites with my Polybian army. I specifically said that in the video.

  • i was just curious as to why you didnt use they, they are particularly effective against the phalanx

  • @PrinceofMacedon don't be rude lol

  • @PrinceofMacedon no need to be a dick mate

  • @Pizza23333 "Ι didnt bring any velites" 0:30

  • Prince I think you need to destory some clan members who have been conspiring agiast you. I will not say names but these involve sithcount max and others who insult your greatness.

  • great battle prince, lots of respect for you man!

  • @ThePunisher308 thanks, man

  • I didnt know about the historian Pelivius. Thanks for mentioning it.

  • @dcsmith5100 Polybius, yes, he's famous

  • Trolls are a part of youtube. People find it fun to piss others off. Natural behavior.

  • Good battle dude :)

    I ain't played Rome in a long time :/

  • Prince you should be in the ginusse world book of records for best RTW player:D

  • Hey prince, have you seen the new 'Blood of Europe' game, its basically an RTS focused on the Teutonic Order, if i remmeber correctly. :)

  • @Arkantos117 Yeah, someone sent me a link last month. The gameplay looks fantastic, but I don't like Medieval times that much. But if I saw it on the shelves, I'd probably buy it.

  • you can never correct princes moves bro!,he always thinks 10 times before he does the move,no shit talking here.

  • @darsus19 lol nice

  • i didn't know you was in hospital sorry masn

  • @mrastonb yup, it was a major pain in the...stomach lol

  • great battle pom nice use of the historical army

  • @RomanFighter1 glad you enjoyed

  • You should have charged instead of throwin your pilaa, so you could fight the pikes downhill.

correct me if im wrong. good game anyways prince

  • @SpooN13337 You're wrong.

Those pikes would've crushed me completely if I didn't discharge my pila.

And by the way, most of my troops were able to engage his pikes from a position of height.

So on both accounts, you're utterly wrong.

  • roughly how much does this cost?

  • @KINGSWRITER you would know more about your city/country's price than mine

  • Man,when i turned 13 and learnet about Hanniball i startet researching EVERYTHING about him.But when i readet that Spicio Africanus, used a brilliant strategy(The strategy of Hanniball).I wanted to see all about military tactics and the roman troops.Ceaser's Legions and that stuff awesome times awesome(And now i read too)Hey PoM,why do you use historicall armyes?(i know you use them when you wan't to but i didn't get why :))

  • @pederas4e1 it's called "handicapping yourself"

  • And last question:If you charged with all of your infrantry in the pikes will you loose? No reserves?

  • Hannibal was a horrible leader. Loosing 3/4ths of his army just crossing the mountain into Rome was a huge mistake. He relied too heavily on useless "super weapons." Things like Elephants, Biological warfare, Snake bombs (look it up) and the such.

Spicio's family, paid a historian to write the account of Hannibal we have today 100 years after he was dead. They paid him to make Hannibal out as a tactical genius so that that Spicio would be seen as an even greater genius.

  • They destroyed allmost everything he wright so they can make theyre own story but the Numidians i believe hid some documents and they did the true story and the romans burned some of the storyes so...and when in the moutain ''mistake'' he made he made an ambush ho took out some leaders except Scipio..

  • Make some more research about Hannibal and don't just repeat was u saw in a tv program. I know he made mistakes but he did pretty good kicking Roman ass. Believe, modern military generals wouldn't waste their time studing military strategies of a "horrible leader".

  • You have no idea what you are talking about. Read a book and watch fewer hollywood movies. Any historian who has studied Hannibal will tell you that he was completely overrated by todays masses.

The generals of today study any military leader that had successes. And yes, Hannibal had his fair share. But that does not make him a military genius. He was far from it.

  • @phluffmuffin o_O whatever kiddor...

  • He has played lots of battles with "weaker" faction also.

  • @Veripalleroinen he's just being a moron.

In the last 3 videos, I've had the handicap. That moron somehow ignored the fact that I was using a pre-Marian army for this battle.

He also ignored the last battle where the Seleucids have the edge over Rome at 20k.

He also ignored the battle before that where Pontus has the edge over Macedon.

He also ignored my other videos where I use EVERY SINGLE FACTION IN THE GAME.

    He's a complete idiot.

  • I am just curious, why you are always playing with Romans and strong factions? Why not going with Gauls, Germans, and etc...

  • He has played with all factions. Watch some more vids.

  • @Magmanton I"ve used EVERY SINGLE FACTION BEFORE.

As for "strong factions," are you being ridiculous? Did you even watch this video? Did you not see that I handicapped myself???

As for my last video, do you not realize that the Seleucids OWN Rome at 20k?

As for using Macedon, do you not realize that Macedon is an AVERAGE faction at best?

I'm blocking you for making incompetent comments.

  • dude u should really learn to relax! have u ever thought about the possibility that Magmanton just doesnt know much about this game? u block him just for asking u something and even worse, call him an idiot and a moron. learn some respect dude. and learn to respect other people's opinions! in one of ur videos, I saw u blocking some1 just for saying that he thinks the video was boring. if u dont respect opinions of other people, u shouldnt have a youtube channel. now block me

    greetings

  • @hangman031 Indeed, you're blocked.

Read their comments. They're purposely disrespectful. Look at the idiot who said the Florida sun was getting to my head when in reality, he didn't look at the video properly.

Furthermore, did you see my reply to the guy who said my videos are boring? I gave him a reply of equal value (calling him "boring" as well).

You act stupid, then you'll be treated stupid. If you act bored, then I'll act like I'm bored with you. See the pattern, asshole?

  • woohooo GO PRINCE!

  • @hangman031 Furthermore, nice new account. Are you guy who said he was bored with my videos? If so, you have to give me credit for knocking you off your high horse without being insulting =)

    (loser)

  • @hangman031 Blocking a person for saying that his videos are boring is a good thing, why would he want useless trolls posting on his videos? Plus, it's his youtube channel so he can really do whatever he wants, right?

  • @jroddd66 he already knows that he's acting like an idiot. That's why he made a whole new account just to post that comment.

  • Can't get enough of your vids, even though I've only played ETW, never RTW. Somehow I just find it very satisfying to watch your online battles ;)

  • thanks, man

  • Hmm i wonder if sould try a pre marian army against one of my sith clan mates..... no bad idea

    anyway 5*

  • I've used historical armies against clannies before =)

  • nice vid :p

  • thanks

  • that was a very historical battle i liked it. :)

  • glad you enjoyed

  • tis battle is pretty nice

  • thanks

  • man i saw this game on gamestop, gold edition for 20 bucks today. but im a cheap mofo and id rather wait for napoleon. i was hoping this game's price would drop but apparently it wont anymore :(

  • you're hoping it gets cheaper than $20?

  • why didnt your opponent deploy on the hill on the back.

i know that the tower offer some flank protection but really that is to your benefit due to your inferior cavalry.

The result in your opponents deployment lead him to figth you on top off the hill were you had the heigt advantage.

    Good battle anyway.

  • I also had inferior infantry so the congestion would've worked to my opponent's advantage too since I couldn't outflank his phalanx.

  • it seems that there is a battle of pydna

  • somewhat

  • exect for the romans didnt fall back and then attack again when the phalanx was on uneven ground

  • princape's and Hastati... its hastati first, then princapes. lol

is the florida rain getting on ya?

  • @totalwar57 are you dumb? The Hastati WERE first. But I mentioned the Principes first.

Did you even watch the video? You can clearly see that Hastati were first.

Damn, you people are getting stupid.

  • @SpartaBeast cuz he's awesome!

  • Sweet battle. Those infantry carved through the royal pikes nicely.

  • glad you enjoyed

  • @hrballins he doesn't like seige battles they are a waste of time

  • great video, why dont u ever do a battle wth liek the huge castles with the thick walls and stuff

  • Why don't you go to school and learn how to spell...

And siege battles suck more than your dad after a hard day at work.

  • why don't you go watch my videos??

I've done OVER A DOZEN SIEGE BATTLES, you lazy ****.

  • Wat made you become so interested in Alexander the great

  • Thx

  • O good your on please help

  • The Macedonian Wars - Epic shtuff.

  • @PrinceOfMacedon other than other phalenx wat units are best against other phalenx, particullary Spartans. I use hammer and anvil and my men still route quickly. Please help

  • easy, just use urbans+praetorians. they're the most overpowered units in the entire game, lol

  • @SpartaBEAST in low money, you can use archers. Shoot those Spartans from behind.

Or you can use hammer and anvil tactics (make sure your units are upgraded).

Or you can double-team the Spartans.

  • Great battle, love the terrain.

  • @NewEonOrchestra yeah, it's an interesting map

  • Do they have the old bactrians and sogdiana or the Afghan tribes? I'm from Afghanistan and i'd like to teach alexander a lesson.

  • if you play the europa barbarorum mod for rtw then you can play as the bactrians, but those are the hellenistic bactrians, not the old ones. btw, alexander did fight the bactrians, soghdians, and afghan tribes, and defeated all of them.

  • Alexander never lost a battle or campaign in his life haha.

  • yep, that's why he pwns. =D

  • @usafhk I think there is Bactrian Cavalry in the "Alexander" expansion for Rome Total War. But it's hard finding the Alexander expansion.

  • I find you more entertaining than Attila 16. I know this isn't ur fault but ur videos load really slowley

  • @InternalAwesomeness I upload my videos in HD. That's why.

Also, Attila makes good videos, but he doesn't play RTW on multiplayer.

  • Excellent battle you have fought, I loved the historical armies you two used, I made a historical army with the Dacians. I am not sure why he charged his cavalry into your Triarii, unless he thought they wouldn't turn around so fast. 5/5

  • @KingSaw100 glad you enjoyed

  • you put your general in an equite unit. isn't that kind of dangerous, since equites are so weak?

  • @truewarriorgod10000 hmm...

Isn't using a pre-Marian army kind of dangerous to begin with? lol

  • Good Stuff PoM.

I especially love that you used pre-marian roman tactics as well. GG to you and your opponent.

  • @Majora1988 glad you enjoyed

  • Nice battle. I'm glad that your finally getting your voice back.

  • @lwbushido thanks, and I'm somewhat getting it back ;)

  • good video

  • @gopherhunter117 thanks, man

  • Hi there Prince:) Just recently discovered your videos about total war on utube and I've been watching them since a few days, and I have to really congratulate you about your strategic view in battles:)

Never played Rome I just started playing for 4 months now medieval/kingdoms and empire but anyway whatever total it is I really enjoying your analysis of the fights :)Keep the good working!

    Regarts from Portugal!

  • is there anyone rome didnt fight???

  • @dcsmith5100 they fought almost everyone in the known world although they didn't penetrate as far East as Alexander had. That said, not even Alexander had the pleasure of meeting the Chinese in battle.

  • Another great vid :)

  • @TheMilkshakeNinja thanks

  • nice battle, very historical like. Also great reserve management, I usually try to out flank with my principes while my hastati engage the phalanx. Of course this can only happen in mods, because in vanilla hastati will rout very fast in unfavorable conditions.

  • @debuxman glad you liked it.
