I think the animation scene said in the description as distracting from the main story is not true as it is Craig realising he can draw well and realising he is good at stuff like drawing and singing so the scene is needed. that's just my opinion.
I love it when Craig and Noelle sing "why can't we give ourselves one more chance, why can't we give love that one more chance." I't makes me giggle :)
@YOUNG4EVERRR they don't really sing that, you know that, right? David Bowie and Queen recorded this back in the 1980s. Keir and Emma lipsynced this song.
The importance of the song in this movie, has been overlooked I think, and that's why the captions have been added to this clip. The lyrics of the song just add too the reality of things in society today, concerning mental health and the characters in the movie. "Pressure on people, people on the streets" ie.'Homeless People'. The reality for some people suffering from mental health problems and there are more if you read into it, Great Movie, Great Clip!
this book + movie were fantastic, the alterations they did for the film are really the only ones i'll ever be okay with when it comes to film adaptations for books. they made the characters really come to life and dsjfnsd it was just perfect<3
i loved this dream sequence :) and the fact that they used this song makes it 10x more awesome...fits in so well with the storyline and who doesn't love Queen?
This movie Gave me the biggest sense of Deja Vu. Nearly everything here happened to me... Except for the love story part. I guess I wasn't that lucky. Makes Me so Jelous of Cool Craig. Brings back so many memories...
@mistylugia425 Noelle cuts herself, that's "her thing". You see her arm covered in cuts at one point. And as far as I know Zach Galifianakis is alive and kicking. ;)
I thought this movie was really adorable. I've never read the book. I liked this scene (and the animation) because it showed some of Craig's creative side, and sort of the way his mind works. The animated scene brought us to a flashback, which showed a lot about his character.
also, Craig is really cute, and I LOVE the outfits in this scene, especially Noelle's, Bobby's and Craig's. :D <3
Yea, this movie was GREAT. Keir is AWESOME. This Musical sequence is the feel good scene of the decade. Keir is a talented actor and one of the cutest guys ever on screen. I hope to see much more of his talent in the future.
I just Love this scene, i can really see the Happiness on the faces while they are singing, long time ago that i saw something like this one an movie.
I loved the book AND the movie but the only problem I had with the movie was that they didn't include the Jessica scene! It was one of my favourite parts!
Personally, I like the movie better than the book..... and I've never said that about any book I've ever read. The book was great but the movie had me so much more emotionally involved. This is definitely my favourite scene. Love love love
I don't care that the movie steered away from the main plot at times. I just thought of it as his way of healing and his thought process. I love the movie and the novel! <3 :D
@Thisismyusername1010 LOL my kid read the book too and said the same thing. Blame Hollywood. This scene woulda been kinda weird with the bongos tho...
when i watched this movie i was so moved by this part. i think it brilliantly incorporates a way that a person with physiological problems allows themselves to feel normal through escapes in their minds. absolutely beautiful
God, I love this part of the Movie. After I watched the movie, I read the book, there was some loose ends, they didnt cover in the movie, but it still has a lot of heart.
i love this movie its so heartwarming! :) this movie literally makes you want to text or call ur girlfriend or that one special girl that youve had a crush on :) a must see! :D
I hate that people don't like the gimmicky parts. They are so important to the story line. It shows him detaching himself from reality and letting himself slip into his alternate state of thinking. I absolutely love this movie.
Don't laugh but this scene really helped me get through a rough patch of time in my life because it allowed me to let loose the emotions I had pent up...I lost my best friend from the 70's who got me through jr. high and high school...Great stuff with a Great Song...:{)
This sequence is fucking amazing, beautiful and incredibly well composed. The fact that they all get INTO the glam rock outfits just...totally makes it work. They're all looney. They're all nuts. But in their own heads they're superstars. Yes its kinda cliched and something that distracts from the main STYLE of the movie, but it totally fits the moment, and for some reason I just love it. The movie is trying really hard to be sappy at certain points, but because of the song selection this passes
I watched this movie because I like Zachary galifinackis. I thought it started out slow, but got better. This clip was one of my favorite parts. The ratings on this movie are just one of the reasons that I don't listen to critics. They don't ever know what the fuck they are talking about. Every movie has it's own personality. I enjoyed the depth to this one.
I don't think the sequences in the film distracted from the main story, they seemed more to push the character towards resolving what problems he thought he had. Even the song choice goes with the reason he was in the ward, he felt he was just under to much pressure. Felt the need to post after reading the description.
Ah, this is great. The movie actually did a really fantastic job of being "a story about depression that's not depressing," which is why the book was so golden for me.
this song kinda moved me... i guess it was like the combination of the song and the movie but man it gave me like a real inspirational feeling... great movie!
Noelle is hot and it's not solely based on the way she looks. Just the fact that the character has personal depth, especially in contrast with the shallowness illustrated by Nia, makes her incredibly attractive.
