Wow ! Nice solo. You know your scales ! There's the missing Scofield touch, you know the one where it seems that the guitar is a part of his body, his feeling and expression if you will, but you're definitely close technically.
I liked how the guitarist pulled out that typical Scofield chorus effect during the solo. It lost some of its intensity with the keyboard solo, though. Also, where have you hidden the bassist!?
Very nice, guys. One little thing, though: in the release, it sounds like you've got the correct voicings on top, but I believe the bass goes from G to B (on the 2nd chord), not F. Check it out.
You're absolutely correct. The first time we practiced this song, I played it going to the B as in the original recording, but it just wasn't working out for me at that moment (not exactly sure why, maybe there was just something wrong with my hearing that day). I thought the F sounded a little better, so that's how I've been playing it ever since. I'm sure it was just that first day that was weird.
It is a little dissonant, so, yeah...maybe it just sounded weird to you one day. But the B in the bass gives it a nice bite (makes it a Bmin7b5). So, are you back to playing the B?
Hey, really like that stuff! I have that Tele you're using. Can you let me know what pedals your using, really like the 2nd sound you use, how do you achieve that?
Excellent job, guys.
