Watched a rerun of this some years ago; the special effects are damn cheesy, lol, but hey, you can't complain too much about 1980's special effects made on a budget, can you? Most of the featured storylines were good though.
True... There are lesser variety of drama. All of them are more or less the same sort of storry. Mainly are Modern love stories. For some reasons, the drama now lack the local feel... Maybe Mediacorp trying to break into China market. Coz, the storyline and pace of the drama now are slower and the actors speaks with a china accents.
who said 80 and early 90s dramas were useless....? like dis drama for eg had d story line of a lady who gave birth to a baby and an old lady came to her rescue...its hidden truth is dont make love anyhow and then dont want to take responsibilty of it...wait a ghost will take care of it for u...

Best Horror Drama produced by SBC, unlike nowadays too much taboo. Hope to see Mediacorp able to come up something near 奇缘 or 迷离夜 in the future........
yea, i hv given up watching prime time mediacorpse dramas, instead i record down the repeat dramas telecast in the wee hrs of the morning 2-4 am and watch them daytime...sad but wat to do... i am so alergic to family dramas produced by mediacorpse!!! OVERDOSE LIAO!!! 1 entire decade of family dramas continuously

zhou hu ren story arc is that he can time travel when he play this piano in this old house and experience xiang yun's grandmother lifetime events. so he become obessed to that time period and his personal life become messed up.
got one story is that a butterfly bite will cause this person to become old...then she changed from a little girl to a lady then and old woman...and the butterflies all fly crazily around her. there's also this story about this old woman who was really a puppet who seems to like another woman's baby and often took the baby out to rock and sooth.
I must say the current local dramas produced by Mediacorp are RUBBISH compared to those produced during the 80s. I really miss the shows that were casted when I was still a young kid...

sad la... they should broadcast such interesting dramas such as shuan tian zi zun 3 at 12am or any nice dramas at prime time instead of those boring shows such as the current 2.30pm and 5.30pm drama...
because their control budget mah, so the standard are all drop, nowadays they only focus in local viewer, the so call big budget production oso seen like no different with others local drama, no other kind of genre, everyday family affair, love story, repeat and repeat, nothing special, very super BORING! wasting time, I rather prefer they produce local drama during early 80s to mid late 90s, with good actors and plot. is a waste that they rename to mediacorp, better call "NO STANDARD CORP".

This drama really is a damn cult horror film in those days...used to scared the hell of me and my sisters in our childhood days. The Mi li yue series really put all the horror dramas these days to complete shame.
