No but I'd expect them to find someone that sounds more like him than this if they are going to play the old stuff. Even Journey found an exact match for Steve Perry.......
chromeOne7: A band also has to find someone they can connect with. If you've ever played in a band yourself you know what I'm talking about. Finding someone who just "sings like Layne" would be ok if they only planned on playing old material. But they needed to find someone on the same wavelength as them to move forward or it wouldn't work.
Take Blind Melon, for example. They got a singer who could sing Shannon's songs well, but the chemistry wasn't right so in the end it didn't work out...
True statements but I still don't like this singer, not sure I'll ever like anyone that replaces Layne, he was my favorite. They won't do well with this guy.

I have seen these guys twice with the new lead and they fucking rock out!!! I think he sounds better then layne did!!
