  • You can get used NSX's for 30k. not worth it imo. Most overratted/priced car ever built.

  • Jesus Tiff, you are sooooooo boring (yawn)

  • Toyota produces SHIT now

  • No cat? Those were the good ole days...

  • The new Toyota GT 86 hardly does better than this 20 year old car

  • @ImmaGinyu I know, and in my opinion this 1990 celica looks better too! Shame.

  • Toyota came all the way from building cars like this, to a FREAKING PRIUS!!!??? For shame Toyota, for shame...

  • to me they look like north american cars and they seem out of place lol. it's weird to me but thats just my opinion

  • basically the Toyota MR2 gives any person the chance to own a technically exotic sportscar (concept: mid engine+rear wheel drive) for little money. how many other "mid engined rwd" cars are out there for little money?

there´s the pontiac fiero (zero quality, zero downforce, neither power steering nor ABS... BUT A/C! ridiculous piece of crap).

the only other halfways modern mid engined rwd car that´s "in the range of possible" is the Nissan NSX which costs like 30.000+

  • @HEMIH3AD Nissan NSX? You mean Acura NSX which goes for alot more than $30,000. That car was $90,000 brand new so its probably in the $60,000 range now.

  • @MasterJediKyleKatarn ugh... ye meant to say honda/acura nsx, ofc. embarrassing lol

  • Ferrari-like performance? Rubbish. You could drive an MR2 for 10,000 miles and it probably wouldn't break down / overheat / need its cambelt changed / drop bits off..... AND my old Mk1 MR2 would do 50mpg on a long run, if I asked it to.

  • Enjoyed watching!

  • I have one of each :-)

  • Such a shame toyota seem to have lost all interest in sports cars.

No longer an MR2, no celica, and no supra either.

But plenty of picup trucks and bland and stodgy hatchbacks. How depressing! :-(

  • @soundseeker63 they my be coming back with the new ft86. front engine rear wheel drive.

  • 2 legends no doubts. at least to me.

  • Someone explain to me why the cons listed for the mr2 are actually bad things. :)

  • @DDRGURU56 Try stopping in an emergency in the wet in the MR2 with no ABS and you would soon know why thats a bad thing!

No cat is worse for the environment. Last one is subjective depending on what you are intending to use it for.

  • @soundseeker63 You took me too literally. lol

  • @soundseeker63 If you can't perform an emergency stop in the wet without the aid of ABS then you should not be driving

  • @escortpwr05 Well that writes off about 90% of people on the road then.

I can thanks to self practice. But is it taught by most instructor or in the driving test?

    Nope.

  • Much more importantly... golf clubs? WTF? Is this about cars or golf?

  • Fuck I love Top Gear. !! And Toyotas

  • My two favorite cars here...

  • I'd take a GT4 as well, but it has to be an RC/Carlos Sains Edition! ST185 is my favourite Celica.

  • @camryt I like the way you think :) Go for the RC version 25 more HP than the CS or Group A versions.

  • I own a 1990 Toyota Celica Gts. Its wonderful.

  • i like how hes driving a turbo mr2 yet they put the n/a specs

  • @pandamanana

Thats an N/A not a turbo.... Above the engine the 'grille' is raised on a turbo, and flat as it is here on the N/A

  • i like how hes driving a turbo mr2 yet they put the n/a specs

  • my favorite Toyota's have 3SGTE's I don't care about 1J and 2J's.

  • bring back the popups some people actually enjoy them even if they brake sometimes everything breaks nothing unbroken able

  • no abs , no CC and a "noisi" engine?? c'mon those are awesome aspects too

  • what happened to the sporty, exotic type mid engined car?!?! thats so much fun... and its MPG wasnt bad either

  • i love the gt4s. i just got my hands on an 88 all trac turbo

  • Such a shame people ruin these cars with new rims and bodykits

  • @MegaMrDamo

Nice rims are ok bodykits are not.

  • iv had my mr2 for 4 years and still smile every time i drive it

  • mr2 is my life...i married my mr2's

  • I just started my 91 MR2 NA the other day, because it's winter where I'm from, and took it for a VERY slow stroll down the road and back just to get the gearbox oil warm. It sucks to have to pack a car you love away for the winter. You spend all winter wanting to drive it. I can't wait for another month or so to go by, because then I can pack away the everday driver more or less, and drive my baby again. MR2's, Supras, AE86s, and Celica All trac's are all icons of Toyota motor history.

  • @redmr2na well you got plenty of time to fix her up now dont cha

  • can anyone post the old top gear review of the 90's 300zx?

  • coooopaye lol

  • HAHA!!! "Engine noise can be a bit wearing" - They haven't heard my MR2 GTi 3SGE with DE-CAT, BLUEFLAME EXHAUST, and K&N CONE FILTER! It sounds AWESOME!!!

  • If only Toyota had offered the GT-S turbo MR2 in the UK. That would of meant more clean examples available today.

  • @MegaMrDamo Sure the Mr2 doesn't have the racing heritage of the celica. But there is no reason to bag on it so badly for no apparent reason. What did the mr2 ever do to you?? It's a seriously fast and fun car to drive with monster mid engine grip and handling dynamics, sexy (albeit a bit Ferrari-ish) styling, All rolled into a very reliable and efficient package. Although a lot of ignorant pricks also called the Mx5 a "hairdressers/fags car" so, oh well.

  • @MegaMrDamo - Have you ever seen a hair stylist who drives a mk2 MR2? I don't understand the reference. Or did you just hear someone else say it once, and now you're repeating the sentiment yourself? I think you're confused and you mean the Mk3 MR2 for which the 'hairdresser' comment has been made.

  • @MegaMrDamo So which one are you then, chav or pink shirt?

  • @MegaMrDamo So what do you drive?

  • If only Toyota made cars like this now.....

  • @robicool that's why they made Scion and Lexus...........

  • @treesapa i rather have my 1990 celica then any scion or lexus

  • @Dragsteryourself

    jessica by the allman brothers

  • I would love a Celica GT4, I love the look and it's so rare now a days. And the MR2 turbo... need I say more.

  • @oopssorryy mate there great cars both of them less than a year ago sold my st205 gt4 and now have a 265bhp mr2 turbo :P great cars love them both

  • @oopssorryy Rare? there are more of these celicas than anything else on the road....

  • @BLOEDVLEK This is the GT4 Celica, not the regular one. They are indeed pretty rare.

  • @BoostedDeuce Well here in New Zealand there are tons of GT4s on the road, all the little boy racers have them.

  • @oopssorryy im poickign up a non turboed MR2 RHD soon

  • Who the hell wants a catalytic converter on ANY car?

  • It's unfortunate that the english never got the turbo MR2. Though I do wish I could get the europeon market turn signals.

  • MR2 & GT4 is the best toyota cars! supra too!

  • thanks for the upload, that was a non turbo gt he reviewed I'd have liked to seen what he taught of the turbo version

  • I loved those two! <3

  • cheers for the upload, prefered earlier mr2 and later gt4 myself,

  • Thanks for the upload! These were the glory days of Toyota.
