I saw this movie when i was 14 16 years ago with Suspiria and Demons as they introduced me to Argento, the soundtrack is killer here. This movie influenced such postmodern horror movies like the Scream and Saw franchises? James Wan and Kevin Williamson admit they are Argento fans.

I credit Argento for choosing actual teenagers to play the part of the students attending "The Richard Wagner International School for Girls," including Jennifer Connolly, age fourteen and Argento's own thirteen year old daughter, who is decapitated in the opening scene. (Does this reflect her Dad's opinion of her acting ability....hmmm.) This is actually my favorite "slasher" movie of all time. Highly recommended.

But somehow Connerly and the fact that it is SO crazy makes it one of the best ever bad movies. I think Argento even said it is his favorite. The ending is amazing, so mad.

But this is classic Goblin soundtrack 'ight? Basically this is half the movie! I would not want a modern soubdtrack desyroying this fine movie. They are suppossed to be like this - it's classic italian gialli. Clocktower was loosely based upon this film (killer child, Jennifer, crazy mother,scissors...) If you look closely enough in the game you can notice some similairities between it and other Argento movies. I kept wishing there was a way to separate the soundtrack and disable it. I found it distracting, loud and annoying. It didn't seem to suit the scenes and what could have been some sort of mood created became irrevelent chaos and confusion. For a minute I thought perhaps (by paying attention to the music) that this was supposed to have been comedic attempts. I muted the sound during some scenes and found that my imagination could create a more absorbant atmosphere.

Personally I like both movies (but Phenomena is my favorite), if you have never seen an Argento movie, then it might seem odd. But the soundtracks and violence will blow you away, very 80's Italian Horror.

Try to find all the Argento movies on laserdisc and it'll set you back a few hundred easy if you can find the uncut japanese versions while only Suspiria got a US release. US distributors suck if you ask me.
