@TheManiacApproach making much money is not anarchy. Making much money is not punk. To sell out its being a ignorant idiot that stopt care becuase they make money.
@Jimy191Quartez funny you say this because against me arnt even a anarchist band anynmore smmart one so there posers and greendays actualy not a bad band sellouts maby but there talented and spread the weord and they did do this at the mtv awards exept there was way more fans and they all climbed on stage so yeah
@mrscottwisby thanks tips, i kinda figured it out because of the song i was a teenage anrachist. im not an anarchist, it seems great on paper but no way it would ever work. against me didnt sell out or anything, they just grew up, what i like about them is their passion and their overall message of equallity. what i dont like about greenday is their shitty generic sound. they were ok when they started but they suck dick, just awful awful songs
@Jimy191Quartez yeah man but honestly if that shity osund makes them money then who gives a damn right? ahhahahahha many when there rich enough theyl go back to there old music for fun or manby they like there new sound hahah anyway it dont mater pop punk is still punk as long as they beieven the punk messag hahah
@mrscottwisby so the punk message is go with the rest of the crowd and make money for your record labels, fuck that! i hate people like that, give back to a charity or something along those lines. punks about being an individual, not giving into a generic sound and hording money
@Jimy191Quartez u didnt understand anything i just said no the punk message is definatly not that the punk message is to be an individual and pretty much screw the goverment screw theworld by if they sold out thats okay as long as there music still has the message screw the goverment be urrself thats cool there punk if there not then they cant be called punk also i never said horde money.
I've probably said this a million times, but Against Me! fans truly are the greatest, it's hard not to smile at the dedication and spirit these fans give.
anyways, i'm not one to start big political discussions through youtube comments, these could all be marked as spam, you know? all politics aside, i just want to say that we are ALL united in our struggle to fight the human problem, the environmental problem, the global problem- Capitalism. And we are
ALL untied in our fight to do the right thing, at the right time in history...
i do personally, and no i'm not stating that ALL anarchist are complete anitcapitalists. i should have been more clear on what kind of anarchists i was referring to, being that there are anarcho-capitalists in existence, as well as many other forms. yet, to me, the only anarchist movement that is truly relevant now, is that of anticapitalism- that which is quite the consolidation of anarchists of all types, fighting to stop the inevitability of neoliberalism, free trade, and world govt.
yes that's true on different political scales and spectrums, but I have yet to meet another anarchist who even identifies with said scales and spectrums. most are against just politics in general (libertarianism, liberalism, noeliberalsm, etc, etc.) Anarchists tend to side with each other to claim solidarity, they share common struggle in the anticapitalist movement.
So you consider yourself an anarchist, correct? And are you saying that anarchism is equivalent to anti-capitalism? I get that anarchists are anti-gov't and I probably any concentration of power/resources in any group of people... but are you saying you oppose capitalism (ownership) of any kind?
Does it seem to anyone else that the radical right is much closer to anarchy than the radical left? Why do anarchists and the left always end up taking sides together?
I'm talking about libertarians (who basically want the government limited to protecting our rights and that's it) vs. liberals/socialists (who basically want government controls involved in every aspect of our lives)... if anarchists side w/ anyone, shouldn't it be the ones who want the least gov't possible?
I don't see what you're getting at... obviously you've got problems with the powerful upper class, which I understand to some extent. But for the most part, peoples' rights are protected... people aren't just stealing and killing w/o repercussion. If you're an anti-capitalist, you basically anti-ownernship... so how do propose that works? Without ownership, who decides who has access to things that they need? The government? You're an anarchist, so that's out... I just don't get it...
if you're anti-capitalist, that doesn't mean you're anti-ownership. that doesn't even make sense. capitalism isn't the only kind of government....if our country were to fall tomorrow everything wouldn't just dissappear. the people would rise up and we would own everything. yea it might a while for anarchy to work but once everybody realized that they had to be responsible, it could happen.
@TheLiesette Capitalism is NOT a form of government. It is an economic system. The problem with us is, however, that our government seems to cradle any and every form of social and economic control. It won't take a long time for anarchy to work. I'm sure you heard the line "Do you remember '36?" That's a reference to the Spanish Civil War, in which anarchists, trotskyists, and russian communists fought against the Spanish State and won. Had it not been for the russians, it would have been
@TheLiesette (continued) an effective Anarchist revolution. You'd probably enjoy the book Homage to Catalonia, by George Orwell. It's a beautiful piece of literature describing the struggle of the Anarchists and Trotskyists. I began reading it as a Trotskyist, but more recently have grown distrustful of status quo democracy, in favour of self-government... and still, its just as beautiful a book as ever.
but nonetheless, a great emotional performance and crowd. in the end, its the music and free self-expression that matter. but still, what the fuck happened to BBC? just another money- focused Orlando venue now...
Does it really matter? I think all that anyone should care about in this video is that a group of people are having a great time and singing their hearts out.
I MISS GIGS LIKE THIS.. THERE'S NO EDGE BETWEEN THE BAND AND THE POGO'ERS (':
