It's really weird, I purposefully looked up an interview of her to see what her accent was because in her songs it sounds like she's got a strong foreign accent.

She was only born in Wales; from what I have heard, she lived most of her life in London, so that's where the accent comes from.

From the few Welsh people I've ever conversed with it seems that some people in Wales do have an ''English'' accent. It's quite common. Where she is from in Wales, Abergavenny, is shared with the English border.
