  • It's a contact lens for King Kong. :-)

  • What is an "instant flame value"? :)

  • This is the most amazing finding!

    JP

  • 2:16 what happened to your hand looks like BIG scar

  • @theafrodude22 glue from a frame I was building.

  • @GREENPOWERSCIENCE glue isnt so bad, cool lenses.

  • não dá pra falar em portugues não??

  • Well done Dan. I'm willing to bet you could get that focal point even tighter with a little convexity on that lens.

  • that's great dan, congratulations on your new tech baby.

  • I'll tak2 2 !!

  • Are the optics good enough that you could build a telescope with it?

  • When will you be able to announce pricing?

  • sooo cool.

  • oh my WORD...this is sooo cool. I want one.

  • Hey Dan. That is awesome!

Can you give us any information on how you make these lenses? Will you offer different sizes and shapes? Linear and spot?

    Thanks.

  • Will these yellow or otherwise lose their visual clarity overtime from the sun? (I can understand dust degradation, and the like.)

  • Holy shit instant fire! Have you ever notticed that the most genial stuff is right in front of you, but you just don't see it until someone else does?

  • wheres your wife????

  • Make lens you can roll up and a circular frame you can take apart and put back together (same size as lens). It would be perfect for camping: just reassemble frame, fix the lens in and you can make a fire/heat food as long as there's direct sunlight.

  • @GREENPOWERSCIENCE is there a reason you can't use it for outdoor purposes? (other than the starting things on fire part)

  • So, not only a really sound guy but also a super solar optics genius. Keep this up & you might end up on a documentary!!

  • Pretty sick

  • When are you going to set some of these up with a solar tracking system and start producing some real usable systems using these high temp solar units?

  • Did you make that out of Sylgard like I suggested on one of your earlier videos.

  • How can you patent something thats already available?

  • excelent.. ad how did you made that lenss.. i'm intereste on mackin several of those lenss for a collegue project... a cheap solar power plant ; )

  • Very cool! Just don't patent it & leave us all in the dark.

  • Hey Dan, can you remember a day when you didn't have a bandage on any limb?

  • wow

  • How did you make it???

  • BBQ with it!!!

  • danyy boy wanna make one really big to melt aluminum so wouid be really happpy if you make a vid how to...

  • Pure genius.

  • i got my first lens out of an old rear projection TV. it works good

  • Awsome, surely you would want to patent this.

  • Any plans to make a vid on how you make these?

  • Use it to liqufy salt to store the heat energy when the suns not shining.

  • Finally I can burn ants and squirrels with one easy-to-use devise.

  • Have you thought about running Glass Fibres through the material to increase strength without loosing clarity?

  • GREAT BREAKTHROUGH IN HOME MANUFACTURING DAN. I'M GLAD TO SEE IT IN YOUR HANDS. THAT THING IS PRETTY CLEAR AND POWERFUL. GREAT WORK.

    MUDDy

  • Can you please explain the pros and cons of a flexible one versus a rigid one including their possible uses? Keep up the good work you 'mad' scientist!

  • I remember you saying you wanted to make these yourself, would love to know the process you use! I assume you're patenting the heck out of it if it's your own original process, of course. :D

  • i would love to buy this!!!

  • death rays!

  • I want one ;)

  • The best lens ever...Congrats...

  • Awesome Video!!! Love your channel.

  • NICE, so want one. thanx for the upload.

  • Could I slap one of these on a car window?

  • this will work great for that dog next door that wont stop barking,im kidding

  • is this in your store yet

  • so are you selling them if so please get back with me I do want one

  • Well done looks crystal what's your estmate on life span? Does it get hot "melt"?

  • Dan, besides burning things this would be AWESOME for people who have vision problems. I sure wish I had one when I was reading my science text book back in school. This would be awesome on a magnifying light for doing delicate work.

  • Those crystal balls you used to make fire a while ago... can I get one from anywhere?

  • throw these onto peoples houses you don't like

  • Will this material degrade on UV?

  • That is nice!!!

  • Ok so what material are they made of? Will they hold up to prolonged sun exposure? Realistically how larce can you make them? Could they be used in a batch water heater to produce steam for power generation? What do they cost to DIY?

  • Would it be possible to be able to roll that lens up and store it in a cylinder so you could take it camping or hiking?

  • @idahodad1

YES... great question. Killer App. Dan please answer!!!

  • can you teach us how to make one?

  • This is crazy, I am definitely buying it.

  • Can I buy one please?!?!?!??!

  • Wow that is crazy can't wait Dan to see them on your site

  • Really really cool, you guys rock.

  • that is beautiful. You could sell that as artwork. Made in USA, bite that China;)

  • ok, everything really nice.... price?

  • That is a very cool material that you've made. What I'm wondering is how expensive it is to produce one of those things. Is it realistic to mass produce these over regular Fresnel lenses?

  • How can we make one, or buy one from you. I have been looking for this type of lens for quite some time.

  • @buttonnorteno I will have them on our website in a few days.

  • @GREENPOWERSCIENCE I want one!

  • You make those where you live? How much would one cost me?

  • @scotsmanlerxt I am still figuring pricing. Since we make them here there are a few that have some imperfections but they work just as good for solar. There will be mint for display, optical applications and solar + some of the not so perfect for solar only which will be less $

  • @scotsmanlerxt

JUST BUY ONE FRESNELL LENS, COPY THROUGH TRANSPARENT EPOXY AND CREAT AS A CASTING MOLD , IT WILL WORK JUST LIKE CONVEX LENS , WHEN AGAIN PUT CAST ACRYLIC LIQUED THEN CANVEX FRESNAL LENS CREATED IN ACRYLIC/PU/PVC/EPOXY RESIN,

  • @sexmajstic press the caps-lock key or if it's stuck, buy a new keyboard.
