"(Now and Then There's) A Fool Such as I" is a popular song. It was written by Bill Trader and was published in 1952, performed by Hank Snow who peaked at number four on the country charts [1] early in 1953.

Well, I guess we were both wrong. Snow did not write it, ole Bill Trader wrote it. Anyway, thanks for setting me straight!

Raul Malo writes a lot of stuff. He's not a household name because music in this country is mostly crap and really great musicians and artists struggle to get above the din that you hear most of the time. Tastes have changed in country ( which is now more rock than country--witness all the Gibson guitars used by modern "country" artists. Great country bands like the Mavericks and the Deraillers haven't sold out to appeal to the masses. And don't get me started on rap and hip hop !
