  • bozzio manages to make even flash playing musical ..and i am sorry

that i called him bozzio the clown for a cheap joke ..because he is a sick dude .

  • I met him and we spoke one on one. One of the most reserved, peaceful, unassuming guys ever, and he has every right to a mouth like Floyd Mayweather. Never pretentious, just a sick drummer from another galaxy. No other human can match him.

  • With the way he was moving his body at the beginning, one would think he removed his bones to build more hardware.

  • Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit ... What the hell is that !!!!!!!!!

  • His ghost notes are unreal!!

  • He looks like a holocaust victim!

  • The man becomes the music!!!!! Simply amazing!!!!!

  • un real

  • drumming is a sound, not an act...

  • I would like to see him do some Fall Out Boy drum covers on this kit! That would be totally amazing/horrifying!

  • ... he ist the 5th dimension in playing drums , thats it !

  • terry doesnt give a fuck about crashes and rides, he only plays chinas

  • 1:04, hi-hat 5 miles far ?!?!??!

  • @zoobizzit When he plays in New York, he always places his hi hat in New Jersey.

  • Guy is a fucking Legend!!

  • Someone should correct the position of the shoulder string his shirt.

  • dont keep the drugs near him lol

  • BRAVO!!! :)

  • If only he'd had that kit playing with Zappa!

What's pretentious about not being satisfied with a standard kit? Atleast Bozzio can actually do something with all of that.

  • that a tiny little kit you have here terry ^^

  • This is the Terry that i like...

  • This is the most pretentious thing I have ever seen.

That said, man got mad skillz.

  • Theres are very few drummers that have achieved true limb independence Terry is one of those guys along with Danny Carey. Danny has an amazing style and his polyrhythms are insane. Carey's my fav rock drummer, Bozzio my fav solo drummer. Amazing musicians

  • wtf....terry inspiring soundssssssssssssss....the snare drum...and ride....?...great

    dry ,,,,,to the point!..........

  • wtf....terry inspiring soundssssssssssssss....the snare drum...and ride....?...great

  • Bozzio was only 25 when he got the gig with ZAPPA and ZAPPA new talent !!!

  • Buddy Rich did more with less, and so does Vinnie. And both don't look as if they are about to explode. But it's remarkable anyway.

  • @afsartori I completely agree with, like, everything said!

To me, a kit this stupidly big is like having a guitar with 26 strings.

  • @tHickman95 Then you do not understand what he use it for. He plays melodies. Musical compositions. You can't play melodies with two toms.

  • @Andy97009814 I see so many comments that seem to completely miss what Terry is trying to achieve. He's trying to forge new ground on his instrument. You can argue about whether his compositions have sufficient musical depth, or are pleasing to listen you. However, if you're truly aware of what's going on and what he's trying to achieve, you cannot dismiss the man's talent or ambition. He's the most impressive drummer I'm familiar with by a wide margin.

  • @wlmason73 Indeed.

  • @tHickman95 Yes, but a single guitar string has 25 notes. A drum only has one, so you need more to play melodies.

  • thoes drum sound amazing

  • this piece reminds me of a tap dancer, telling a story, or his discovery of a new emotion. Terry is really in his element when he just does it, those groves just infect, so wonderful.

  • "greatest of all time" became a very easy concept. Just look around for Miles Davis and/or Frank Zappa musicians

  • he definitely thought of zappa's king kong while composing

  • He probably sucks on a standard kit..

  • Quickly...someone inform Mangini he's irrelevant.

  • avant garde jazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz fee lance..............who cares!!!!!!!!!!!!!sounds good to me!!!!!!!bozzio rules :)

  • Chuck Norris takes drum lessons from Terry Bozzio.

  • i not find anything about jazz in all this (sorry for bad english)

  • @alessandroDrums94 yes he's a great drummer but....

  • @alessandroDrums94 I'm not a drummer but I think he play the walking bass with his right hand and the melody with his left. Pretty wicked stuff!!!

  • Terry has played in Zappa's band, with Jeff Beck, Missing Person, Mick Karn and David Torn, Tony Levin, Brecker Bros.

People who make disparaging remarks about Terry know very little about where he has come from and what he has contributed to the art of the drum kit.

  • Terry is so good his shirt falls off as he is drumming :)

  • Is it wrong to fap to this?

  • @kimmin1208 it's ok if you are a drummer

  • I'll take JoJo Mayer and Benny Greb on my team. Terry comes off the bench.

  • His cymbals sound so dry... it's making me thirsty...!

  • @Snorkel00 it makes me hungry and what to play the dums

  • @mommydaddy78 But what about jojo mayer?

  • Gotta love how all his cymbals sound like shit :D. other than that it was cool

  • terry is so underrated!

  • @RhythmDramatist What the heck are you saying? He's one of the greatest, who can underrate him?

  • Mad love for Terry Ted Bozzio.

I've seen him play live 5 times and each was incredible.

    Thanks for the post.

  • the way he is moving is like a snake

  • He was awesome with Zappa!

  • Simply beyond belief!! I've rewound back to hear the section from 1:45 to 2:25 and he's playing a melody on the cymbals! An actual melody!! TB truly transcends ANYTHING anyone else has done. You can't simply call him a drummer - lol. He's a musical composer whose instrument is percussion. I wish he could have a wider exposure, but his art & talent are so superior to the "sheep feed bin" mentality that we will continue to see moronic posts.

  • @drsoph2112 Try this one "wT_8YrrGXjE" that's the v= id for the url. have fun.. DC

  • OMG!! this kind of drumming and drums looks and sounds interesting an funier, than standard drums

  • @MrRomans88 non lo batte nessuno fa dei tempi troppo straniXD

  • impossible times...is the best of the world

  • For sure Terry B. is an excellent drummer and he got his very own technic to play drums. But this is boring to listen to that shit.

Sometimes less is more! I think he had his best time while he was drumming by Frank Zappa!

  • rockin' so hard his damn shirt nearly came off!!!

  • If you watch this muted, it's really funny.

  • @Harmony4297 Agreed, but then again, why would you want to?

  • @HomelyCooking haha, true. This is amazing and Bozzio's a legend, i just had it on mute accidentally :P

  • @Harmony4297 WHY WOULD I WATCH THIS MUTED????

  • @Harmony4297

That just made my day haha

  • Someone's having fun :P

  • not even in my dreams would i be able to do that, terry bozzio is simply amazing and one of the best , and no one could argue that

  • the rain started pouring hard when i started this song.... amazing......

  • EPIC WIN

  • Terry Bozzio should be in the Drummers Hall of Fame.

  • @DonChato12 I thought he was, wasn't he? Mike Portnoy and Neil Peart are both in there, and they both list Bozzio as huge inspirations lol

  • @Acfeiln I sure hope he is. He's freakin' amazing.

  • The first time I saw this I thought it was kind of awkward, because he's so strong in a delicate structure. It made me think of Mike Tyson trying to dance ballet. But it makes sense, the more I watch it. There is grace in power.

  • Self indulgence@ its peak!

  • It becomes mesmeric after a while, but I much prefer hearing a drummer play an awesome groove, I like being able to latch on tosomething, but this is probably beyond me. I'm gonna go have a look see if I can find a video of him playing a wee drum kit.

  • Terry is by no means an ordinary drummer he is unique very unique, hes kind of a turn off for some drummers because they just want to see speed and loud noises, but Terry offers that plus insane time signatures, amazing playing ability and passion,

  • @Punkwithchains but his cymbals....

  • Even if you don't dig the sounds, you HAVE to admire the incredible enthusiasm and passion in his playing!

That being said, I think this is an incredible piece of music by an incredible and unique artist!

  • yes it is a gong and its supposed to sound trashy

  • True High art!!! Terry at his finest!! He's breaking so many boundries in this video. No one in the history of this instrument, this culture, has taken the art of drumming to this level. He's 15 years ahead of everyone at this time!!! Playing the bass line with your right hand then soloing against it on this gigantic kit which is impossible to play who does this?

  • @carnagetour who does this? Grant Collins does. and he does it better.

  • Are you fucking kidding me???? HAHAHAHAH Grant who? This isn't for you lil boy.

  • @carnagetour i hope your ignorance doesn't get in the way of your drumming ability.

  • @niallie1984 I'm sure Mr. Collins would be elated to know that you are out there to defend his honor.

Sarcasm aside, they play with two completely different mindsets. Bozzio is all about the composition, while Collins is more about displaying his independence. If you MUST compare them, however, Bozzio is definitely more solid rhythmically and way more musical. His sense of phrasing is much better than Collins. The FACT is that Bozzio is more musician than drummer, which, TOO ME, matters more.

  • @carnagetour then again, give every professional world famous drummer a kit like this and im sure we'd hear a lot of very, very excellent pieces, too.

  • @macthecomedian I don’t think so. Yeah, he has a Ferrari of a drum set. But putting another professional in that set wouldn’t change anything. If that were the case, there’d be nothing special about him. You can put two people in perfectly identical cars in a race. The car doesn’t matter. The better driver will win.

  • @OpulentRedrum ,,,huh.?

  • @macthecomedian Also, I’m not trying to say that Terry is the best ‘driver’. Just that giving every professional drummer out there would not yield a bunch of people on this level.

  • @carnagetour He's actually 15 year's behind music from a percussionist's standpoint.

  • No need to get all cynical on me. Music is subjective; i assumed an "artsy" person such as yourself would have known i meant it sounded like garbage to me.

  • Is that a gong hes using for a ride? It sounds like garbage.

  • @noodlebater yes he is, and yes it does. But it's kind of interesting.

  • @noodlebater You see, us artsy people like the sound of garbage.

  • Great stuff here. Very complex.

  • dio dell'olimpo!!!!!
